Summary: Zoom
Review: The picture quality is great but if you're interested in the zoom feature, look somewhere else. The camera does not even zoom to what you can see with your naked eye.

Summary: "Works hard for the money"
Review: This is a nice travel/home camera. The body is durable, yet light and fits easily into a breast or cargo pocket. I've had no problems with the mechanics other than a strange appearance in the lower part of the viewer--a small piece of something that should probably not be there but does not affect the picture at all. Definately get a strap for it--the body is a bit slippery, especially in damp/humid environments. No need to send it over the falls. Pictures are clear and sharp. The functions are easy to use with a little review of the instructions.

Summary: Pic quality bad-do you want Zoom really?
Review: I bought this camera for my wife. She wanted a tiny but reliable camera so I read all reviews here and got it. But when I picked up the first printed pictures, I was really disappointed. Was it a problem of mine? I think the picture quality is the most important feature. It is not sharp at all. My wife used to have cheaper (no zoom) Canon but she lost it. I think that made much better picture. If it didn't, I wouldn't have purchased autofocus camera again. I suspected Zoom function. The moving of lens part looks unstable. But I am not sure whether it is the problem of particulary my camera or whole products. I just think I didn't need a small camera with zoom function at all.

Summary: This camera is worth more than its price!
Review:
I have owned many cameras, including Fuji, Ricoh, and Canon. The Fuji Discovery series is a great camera, but it's a bit bulky. This camera completely surprised me. It is incredibly tiny, fun to hold, and beautiful to look at. The clamshell design works perfectly and protects the camera really well. The function buttons are a bit small, but don't get in the way of taking good photos.

I typically go for a long zoom. But I read on a photography page that cameras with smaller zooms usually take better photos. This camera was recommended on that site as well. So I bought it and immediately took a roll of film.

The outside pictures were clear, and the flash came on only when needed. The color was *great*, but the hue was off just a bit. I was wearing a peach sweater that looked pink. There were no red eyes, even when the automatic flash came on (not in red eye mode). We got some excellent close-up shots, both with the zoom and without it. The camera worked well on a tripod also. Inside, with the red-eye reduction, the photos were completely real-life. Colors were perfect, and eyes were not red at all.

This is just a great little camera! At first, because it's so small, I felt like I was shaking too much when I took the pictures. But not one of them came back fuzzy. The clamshell design, photo quality, and the small size combine to earn the epic 80 five stars.

Summary: COULDN'T BE MORE IMPRESSED
Review: I think this camera is great. I've taken lots of pictures and with the exception of my errors, all the pictures have come out beautifully. I recently went to Hawaii and everyone commented on how the pictures looked like postcards. The photos came out very clear and the colors very crisp. It has lots of options, so it's very hard to get a bad picture, day or night, closeup or far. Being so compact you can take it anywhere.

Summary: I Cant Believe it is So Easy!
Review: Since buying this camera a week ago, i have taken some great photos with it. I was quite impressed that I didnt have any pics which were screwed up by flash, lighting or even thumbs. I am a man with good size fingers and hands. I have heard some criticisms about the size of the buttons, nor have i had any trouuble opening the battery case. the battery case is easy for me to open but no t soo easy that my toddlers can open it quickly (those of us who have them know they can open anything given time). Their size (the buttons) does not bother me and I have been able to use the full functionality of the camera.

This camera takes pretty good photos with vivid color and detail without using any of the fancy modes available. You can literally take the camera out and shoot. One of my faviorite things about this camera is it's size. I have abandoned the strap and a carrying case which i bought. I instead keep it in my pants pocket wheresoever i may go.

this is a great camera for a gift and i have no complaints so far... I plan to take this camera on vacation to tampa bay and disney. I give it my recommendation.

UPDATE: i took this camera with me and I had a wonderful eexiting time taking pictures. I took 8 rolls of film and the pictures turned out fabulous! this camera has ensured that i will have vivid and colorful memories of my children in their cutest years. I definitely made the right choice.

Summary: What a wonderful little camera
Review: Takes great pictures. Survives a drop onto the sidewalk (dropped from 2 feat from a bench). Handles rain no problemo. Still takes great pictures. Small size is great and it's easy to use. The editor review says battery compartment is hard to open -- It is unintuitive by the arrow direction (it looks straight), but look at the hindges and you'll figure it out. The viewfinder is tiny, but it works just fine. The camera's small size lets you get 2-3 extra pictures from a 24 exposure roll becuase you don't have to roll out the film at all to cross the camera body :) It is so small that it fits in teh secondary compartment of the camera bag I bought along with it.

The zoomer is cool. They say that it is 2.2x, but a 35mm with no zoom is .45x, so you are actually getting 4x zoom relative to a non-zoom 35mm wide angle point and shoot. This is the best bet for your money. If you want more zoom, go get a professional camera, but with that much money (over $200), its time to go digital.

This is the perfect camera for me going to LA and shooting at the LA Galaxy (Soccer MLS) players.

Summary: Great Camera for the price
Review: I am pretty pleased with this purchase. The camera is really nice and seems pretty sturdy. My chief complaint though is that it is super slow opening up. Well, it seems really slow. Maybe I am a product of the instant gratification crowd, but it is a little annoying when you have the must take quickly picture opportunity. I guess you just get used to it. Overall, however, I am very happy with this purchase.

Summary: Picture this: First trip to Italy
Review: I purchased my Olympus Stylus Epic Zoom 80 in January specifically to take on my vacation to Italy. I did not regret it! It's lightweight and very convenient to carry in my purse when not in use. I used 400 speed and I took pictures through the bus windows (without the flash), on cloudy days and even on a boat ride in the afternoon rain and never had a problem. It was quick and easy to learn how to utilize the extra features: date, red-eye reduction, zoom and wide angle. The night time pictures did blur - I did not have the suggested tripod. I had a great time in Italy and I have wonderful pictures to recall the fun!

Summary: Great gift for people that don't want digital cameras
Review: This camera helped me solved a couple of gift-giving problems, and maybe it will help you, too...

On two recent occasions, I've been asked to buy cameras for people as gifts (a birthday and a holiday gift) and I was having trouble choosing a camera. Why? Because they told me they wanted a regular "film" camera instead of a digital camera!

This didn't make sense to me, since I really like my digital camera...but I could not sway them. Their main points were that a) they didn't want to deal with computer programs, and b) they didn't want to deal with printing the pictures themselves (which can get pretty expensive on an inkjet...)

In any case, the "customer" is always right, right?

So, I got them both this camera, and they loved it! Really loved it - I mean, more than I expected.

Here's why: 1) The camera is really nice looking 2) The camera is small (easy for toting around) 3) The flash bulb pops up in a really cool way when you open the camera 4) Last, but not least, the pictures are really sharp!

So, if you're trying to pick out a camera for the "anti-digital camera" people in your life, choose this one and you'll do just fine.
