Description:

This receiver comes equipped with complementary push-pull output stages for all five channels, which achieves low distortion using two transistors per channel: one for the positive half of the audio waveform and one for the negative. Further, the receiver is 4-ohm/8-ohm switchable for reliable operation with low-impedance speakers (affects front left and right speakers only). A+B speakers sets are connected in parallel. Equal power is delivered to all five channels (left, right, center, left rear and right rear), important for theater-quality Dolby Digital and Dolby Pro Logic surround sound. A new programmable LCD remote control shows station names, CD titles, and more. A wireless rear speaker output feeds line-level rear speaker information to the transmitter of an optional wireless speaker system and eliminates the need to run speaker cable from the front to the back of a room. Also included is an S-Link control bus for audio-video system convenience, offering advanced communications with compatible Sony AV components. A mix output for subwoofer mixes information from left, center, and right channels and routes them to your subwoofer. A muting switch drops the overall output by 15 dB for telephone calls and other interruptions, permitting you to restore the volume to its previous level at the touch of a button. A headphone jack facilitates private listening. Frequency synthesis AM/FM tuning provides maximum accuracy, always tuning to the center of the broadcast channel for minimum distortion via 30 AM/FM random station presets. Auto tuning scans up and down the band, while station name and index tuning let you enter a four-letter name (such as KMTT) for each preset station.
