Summary: do not purchase
Review: 1 year later the screen has blanked out and no longer takes pictures. Of course customer service offered to replace it with a new LS743 for $125. But why would I end up spending close to $525 (close to $400 for the orginal and another $125 for a new replacement) for a 4 MP camera. I'd stay away from kodak cameras and go with quality.

Summary: The kind of color I need
Review: The Kodak Easyshare LS443 was the first digital camera that allowed me to totally abandon film cameras and go completely digital.

The LS443 is already old technology but it was very progressive when it was first released with the 4 Megapixel image depth, user-friendly menu, and the EasySahare dock for recharging and USB image download.

When I bought it new, a year and a half ago, I knew it would not have the image quality of a 4 Megapixel Canon PowerShot or a Nikon 4 Megapixel Coolpix pocket size camera. But, I was confident that Kodak's accurate color technology along with their generous color saturation would satisfy me the most and it indeed has.

Some of the 2 and 3 MegaPixal Kodak EasyShare cameras lacked the sharp hi-quality lens that the LS443 has. The LS443's Schneider Variogon zoom lens delivers.

When ever I get my 6" x 4" machine prints back from Kodak's Ofoto Print Service, the prints are as sharp and colorful as the lab prints that my wife gets with her Canon SureShot Z90w 35mm Camera.

I was carrying the LS443 in my pant pocket, which was too much abuse for it, and I had to send it in to Kodak for warranty service. Since then I have been keeping it in a Samsonite camera case that fits it just right. After I stopped carrying the camera in my pocket I have had no problems with it.

This obsolete camera is currently a great buy if you buy it used from Amazon Market Place.

I included 5 sample images from this camera in the Customer Images section of this Amazon product listing. My sample images show what this camera can do with outdoor sporting events, unique subdued outdoor lighting situations from severe weather conditions, and close up indoor flash photography using the camera's zoom capability.
