Summary: very poor quality
Review: I was initially wowed by how great the photos were, but the camera has a faulty battery reader - it was intermittantly shutting down when the batteries still had charge, and the battery reading varied wildly. I coudn't get HP's tech support to believe me - they had me do elaborate testing and because the problem was intermittant, I didn't get the right results. I got tired of waiting for them to call back & thought heck, I'll just make sure to carry extra batteries, I can live with this. The warranty expired last month, and weeks later something failed in the zoom lense - it will no longer focus and makes an awful whirring noise when turned on an off. HP is not a camera company - I'm getting a Cannon this time, but this was an extraordinary expense for a year's worth of use. HP is not the quality company it once was!

Summary: Camera broken twice
Review: I've had this camera for maybe 18 months. It broke once-- pictures hopelessly blurry, NOT user error-- and HP sent me a new one. The second one is now broken-- the lens is retracted and won't extend-- and now I'm stuck because it's out of warranty and HP won't even repair it at my expense. When it did work, it sucked batteries like crazy. Do yourself a favor and find another brand.

Summary: Kinda shoddy
Review: It definately has some issues. It's a rather light camera, wich wouldn't be so bad, but it's a little TOO light. I'm not sure if maybe mine's broken or something, but it can't seem to write to the card in 1MP mode instead of 5 MP mode, it doesn't always read the card and sometimes litereally freazes and you have to pull the bateries out and wait for the camera to use up all the stored power in it before putting them back in and trying again. The 3x zoom is good but the 7x digital zoom is crap, it just cropps the image and lowers the resolution as far down to 0.1 megapixles, there's your 7x zoom. This is my first digital camera, but I'm used to with computer components and I already don't trust this camera, maybe even this brand. The card that they send with it is kinda shoddy too, my card reader sometimes won't even read it. Also, the ability to use multiple resolutions isn't good at all. It's either 5MP or 1MP, there's no in between.

My reccomendation: find something better quality. for $... it might as well work right.

Summary: Compare Prices
Review: Just look at the options then compare this camera to any other with the same options. You will be hard pressed to find a better camera for the price. I have owned many HP products and I am not disappointed with this one. Very easy to use, great picture, and outstaining quality when you print on a photo printer.

... Nice camera which price is unbeatable on any web site.

BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: Loads of Problems
Review: Not a good camera, but I still like it, sort of.

This camera is ridiculously slow at doing everything. That is most likely because the pictures are so huge. Not a high quality image - disappointing.

The HP 935 is surely not a professional camera. However, it is still fun, which is what I wanted. I think the Pentax lens is pretty good.

But, read the other reviews. It is quicker and shorter to write what is good about this camera than it is to list the problems. I won't waste time with duplicated problems or PROs and CONs lists. If it's listed there, I had that problem too. The camera is FULL of problems - and I feel like I got ripped off. It if was my first digital camera, I would probably think it's great. I think that might be why so many people gave it 5 stars. If you compare it to other digital cameras, you'll see how poorly it compares. It's not a good camera, and doesn't deserve 4 or 5 stars.

Summary: Very good but battery live and video bad.
Review: Okay now this is a smart camera.
I used to have a HP 318 which took really bad pictures compared to this baby. At 5MP the images are huge(resolution). HP have definatey improved there compression algorithm(***) as the differece betwwen the 500k(*), 1200K(**), 2.4MB(***)images is very small (5MP). I had to zoom in 6x to see any difference.
The *** images were between 2.4 and 3.8MB get a little large to mail. I was able to store 208 pitures at 5MP at one * on a 128MB SD card

My main grouch with the phone is that it eats batteries for breakfast, I use GP 1800mAh's and each pair lasts about 4 hours, but then again I am using it constently. The drain is primarly from the magic lcd display that is really bright and clear, also well protected from the scratches. Now the video mode is really really bad don't even try take scenic\panaramic shots as it does not have enough detail. It's okay with close up personal messages less that 2 or so meters. This baby has enough manual settings to make your head spin but none of your settings will beat the 'auto' setting which is always brilliant! Overall pics are really great. This camera is a really good buy. Pity it did not come with a bag to protect it, it is also nice heavy camera and is very solid. PS it does not have a USB2 interface it is however complaint with a USB2 host adapter but maybe there will be a firmware upgrade.

PS the CD that came with my install has a broken .ini file, youll need to copy the hpsw dir to your HDD and edit out the last . in the camera models not to install correctly.
Personally dont even install the software on XP.

Cheers
Eric

Summary: Battery Sucker
Review: The features on the camera are great, it plays friendly with the computer, and so on ... but you can't take it with you and get an evening's worth of pictures. I bring along extra brand new batteries to restock it during shoots, but I never seem to have enough. It is amazing how fast it drains batteries -- it basically made us stop thinking of bringing it along with us for events.

I used a cannon digital in the past and it was great, now I bought a replacement cannon for this battery sucker and it too is great. Unfortunately I can't return this HP camera because it is beyond 30 days, but hopefully you will benefit from the warning.

Summary: Terrible
Review: The first problem I had with this camera was trying to get the pictures from the camera to the computer via docking station. HP answered my email after about 5 days and then said it was my computer. It was not. Then I had the low battery indicator problem that seems to be common here and HP did not answer my emails so I returned it and got a Canon G3. There is a big quality difference.
HP tech support on this product is horrible.

Summary: Good value, but limited by optics
Review: The HP 935 is one of the less expensive 5 MB cameras on the market and overall is a very good value. But for another hundred or so bucks, you can choose between a few cameras with better image quality, larger zoom range and better exposure flexibility. For example, I'd pony up the extra bucks for an Olympus C-50 or the HP 945 if I was going to bother buying a 5 MB camera. Those two measured similarly on the test bench and both had better image quality than the 935. Our C-50 has had constant use since its purchase and is doing a great job.

Summary: well worth the money
Review: this camera is worth every bit of the money.it was up and running in less than 5 minutes.it had no software problems whatsoever..the software installed in about 4 minutes or less.on an hp 9995 with windows xp.it takes awesome pictures and they are real easy to unload into the computer.and with the easy share option its easy to share the pics online in a matter of seconds.this is a really easy camera to operate.you cannot find a better deal for the money for a 5.3 mp camera. i highly recomend this camera. ps. my camera came with the 2.0 software.so you dont have to worry about the problem described in the other reviews.hp already took care of it.
