Summary: Great Camera! Plus value for money
Review: DC Resource reviews the Fujifilm Finepix F440 and writes - 'The Fuji FinePix F440 is a fun and compact point-and-shoot camera that has some features that set it apart from the pack. Despite its compact size, the F440 has a 3.4X optical zoom -- a nice change from the usual 3X. The second nice feature is the larger-than-normal 2 inch LCD display, which also happens to be bright, sharp, and fluid.'

I found all the above to be true and found more great stuff. Battery life is pretty good, lots of photo modes, great manual mode, great chrome mode, b&w mode, WEB-Cam feature (yes! web-cam), voice memo, video (good quality, but limited to 180 sec), great flash modes (try the S flash mode outdoors at night), even the manual was really simple and helpful - read it to get full use of the camera. The other obvious benefits are the small size, sexy design, and the coolness factor. However, to be honest I bought the camera for its lower price, and after comparing it to my friend's double-priced Sony Cybershot T1, I am completely satisfied. (It should be pointed out that the T1 is a 5MP camera, so a better comparison would be with the Fuji F450, which is also much cheaper than the T1)

Summary: A great little camera
Review: This little camera is a full featured powerhouse. Not only does it have a higher optical zoom than other similar cameras, it has a good quality feel, huge LCD screen and video with sound. The menus are easy to navigate and don't need much fiddling with in the first place for most users. Included is a nice charging and download cradle that keeps the camera fully charged and ready to use at short notice.

I'm a big fan of these small cameras because they slide inconspicuously in your pocket and can be taken anywhere - it's smaller than a deck of playing cards. You can't say this about most digital cameras.

I would give it five stars, but one feature I purchased it for has some shortcomings. This camera, like some other Fuji brand cameras - is supposed to be able to double as a PC webcam. The set up for this camera to be used this way is not easy, and once I set it up on my new Dell XP Pro PC, it continuously crashed the system and never worked. My previous Fuji camera (the A310) had none of these problems.
