Summary: Excellent, Inexpensive, and Easy to use!
Review: ...

GREAT camera if you're jumping into digital. New or used, you can't get a better feel for what 3.2MP resolution with many of the features many high-end cameras carry for the price (white balance, exposure compensation, movie mode, B&W and sepia, rapid shots, and photo editing software).

The high points are the 3.3 MP, large LCD, auto-focus, rapid shot mode (4 pics in a row), movie mode, ArcSoft PhotoImpression. The low points are no optical zoom and heavy battery consumption. I don't use zoom since camera shake always ruins my pics. Also, since I have a 3.2MP image, I can crop using PhotoImpression and still get a great 4x6 or 5x7. I found that using the flash when the light is behind the subject does an excellent job as fill flash. And rechargables are a necessity with ANY electonics!

I compared it to a Fuji finepix 2.0 MP camera and found the images to be comparable. Fuji did have better color and light compensation when you look at the original jpeg but the Sipix SW made up for the correction (modify contract & lightness, increase saturation). Beside, I never met a digital image I didn't want to manipulate!

BTW, I'm using a 256MB flash card which works with this camera!

Note:
1 - set to macro mode if you're less than 3 ft away
2 - time/date resets when you replace batteries
3 - there is no sound recorded with movie mode although you CAN record 45 minutes on 128MB CF
4 - low compression = 1.6MB (9 pics w/ 16MB), high compress = 600 KB (24 pics w/ 16MB);

Summary: DO NOT BE FOOLED
Review: After reading the other reviews, i thought this camera would be a steal at a 130 bucks. it is a steal-- the money the company stole from me for this piece of junk. First of all, it is HUGE compared to other digital cameras. The functions are extremely slow, and even when i put brand new batteries in, it keeps saying my batteries are dead or close to. Ive had the camera THREE DAYS. Ive used it ONCE to take a few pictures. I put a memory card in, and once i ejected it, it wouldnt go back in. it practicalyl chewed up my card and got stuck in the card slot. I'm extremely disappointed and wish I could get my money back. Stay away-- dont tell me i didnt warn you...

Summary: Good Camera, works fine with WinXP
Review: Been playing with this camera for a several days & the only thing I can find wrong with it is a power button that is slightly hard to thumb. Yes, it eats batteries, but only takes 2 at a time, so is not as bad as others make it out to be. As far as the reviews that say it doesnt work with XP - they are the clueless that dont know how to install the drivers that come with it. Install the software people!!! In other words, take the shiny disk out of the envelope & put it in that coffee holder on the front of yer computer. Personally had NO problems on 3 different XP systems and works fine on Win2k as well. No frills basic camera, but takes very good quality pics and is simple to use. Needs more memory than the 16Mb it comes with, but mem cards are cheap these days.

Summary: BATTERIES SHMATTERIES
Review: Big deal.... it eats batteries. Go buy rechargable. My first child arrived two weeks ago and let me tell you that this camera is wonderous. The video is working great. The pictures are perfectly detailed. This was well worth the money. And by the way.....my 256mg cf card works in it. I got about 35 mins of my child puking...pooping....and peeing. I added a little opera with the software provided. I'll be up for an award next year

Summary: For Neophytes Only
Review: Can't complain about price. A little bulky. Definitely get rechargables and turn LCD off. Easy to use and has fairly good photo editing software. Flash leaves something to be desired. Not made for shooting at night or in low light. Red-eye issues when used in poorly lit room. But takes good quality photos in well lit situations.

Summary: SiPix 3.3
Review: Easy little digital camera! Quick to learn easy to use! EATS BATTERIES LIKE CANDY! Make sure you get rechargeable batteries and an adapter. Smaller bag - it's not real big like some.

Summary: Nowhere near as bad as its reputation
Review: First off, here's why I bought this camera: my old camera developed a short circuit, CompUSA put this one on a 6-hour sale, and it was the perfect way to hold off on buying a fancy camera for a few more years. For the price I paid for it, I'd be an idiot to complain about its features. This camera's good for pics that'll be shown on monitors, maybe not so much for printed ones. The one slight grumble I might have is the lack of optical zoom - but with a 3.3MP resolution, you can take a full-res picture, cut it to size in your software of choice, and still have more resolution than your average user's monitor. Unless you're doing print work, you don't need more resolution.

And, to the complainers - most of your problems only exist when ignoring the three "USEes" of digital cameras.

1. USE NiMH batteries. No digital camera works well on regular batteries. NiMH batteries last several times longer, and when they run out, you just recharge them. Be good to the environment - use NiMH and keep more batteries out of landfills.
2. USE the optical viewfinder. Leave the LCD viewfinder off whenever you can - that's where most battery life problems come into play. If you ignored #1, then your battery life on any camera is measured in minutes with the LCD viewfinder on.
3. USE a card reader, don't bother hooking the camera up directly to a PC. You won't have to fight with AC adapters, USB cables, etc. This also means you don't ever have to use Sipix's software if you don't want to.

One last Linux user note: the AVI files this camera outputs aren't loadable in Xine or Kino, although I haven't tried very hard either. I have a hunch they may actually be MJPEG streams, as opposed to AVIs.

Summary: Nice Pics, Poor power consumption
Review: Good pics, but this camera goes through batteries like they are a penny apiece! I put in fresh new alkaline batteries and downloaded some pictures and in less than 5 minutes, the batteries were D E A D!! The batteries in my old Olympus lasted through a whole day of shooting and downloading. Also, this camera gives no warning of the batteries running low, it just shuts off. Very frustrating when you are trying to get that crucial shot. This camera is good if you are taking snapshots at home, but lousy on extended outings due to the high power consumption. Be warned, the initial price is low, but you'll quickly make up the difference on battery purchases. Rechargeable batteries? Sure, but for the extra money, you might as well get a better camera that uses alkalines conservatively. PROS: Nice Pics CON: Sucky power consumption and poorly designed power switch. My advice: Spend a few more bucks and get a good name-brand camera.

Summary: Great Camera for the Price
Review: Great camera for the price. Pictures are clear. I only gave it 4 stars because it is hard to see through the LCD panel when there is a lot of sunshine (when you are in the beach).
I used Kodak rechargeable batteries and I didn't have any problems with the battery power even though I used the flash a lot.
