Summary: Believe what you read and hear!!!
Review: After reading several on-line reviews, I purchased this amp for an outdoor wedding this upcoming summer. This amp completely defiles any human logic for the price. AMAZING!! I own an Bryston 3B SST amp and I have to say this amp had so much more detail in the stereo image, it boggles the mind. The depth and spatial imaging of this thing is ABSOLUTLY INCREDIBLE!! Not as "warm" sounding as the Bryston, but it doesn't have the any of the typical cheap transistor sound found in any off the shelf receiver under $1K at LEAST. YOU CANNOT GO WRONG!! TARGET is great retailer also. I ordered the unit on a Monday evening and the unit arrived UPS GROUND on WEDNESDAY!!

Summary: How do they do it???
Review: How can a low-priced amp possibly sound this good. This is the best kept audio secret of all time. I have mine connected to a SACD player through a ASL passive (tube)pre-amp. I turn the volume control on the SI all the way up and adjust volume with the pre. The sound that comes out of my high-efficency Horn Shoppe Horns is nothing short of amazing. Wide soundstage, incredible imaging and totally no audible noise. I own two and I'm looking for a third to hot-rod. Caution: If you are going to use in a home stereo rig, the speakers should have an efficiency of 90 or better to get the sound levels you'll want. Amazing!

Summary: Good for intended use
Review: I bought this to make use of some extra speakers and cd players I had in my study room, and this amp was the missing link. As long as I don't want to play music particularly loud, this amp does the job fine. It can drive real bookshelf speakers that are at least moderately efficient. It isn't hissy or distorted at low levels. It sounds best to turn up the input signal strength (e.g. CD input) and use the first third of the amp's volume control. I have not used the amp to play my big $1,000 + speakers, but using this amp with a decent input and real speakers sound much better than a boombox or low-end "mini-systems". The speakers I'm using are some discontinued Radio Shack (RCA) speakers with kevlar woofers and Linnaeum tweeter, bought at 2 for $100. Pair the amp up with some real (list price >$100) speakers and this amp will play music decently in a small room.

At a price of $40, this is a great, handy little item. It does not sound bad at moderate volumes, which is all you can really ask for. At about 10 good quality watts, higher efficiency speakers would be better, e.g. I'd expect Klipsch to be a good fit. FYI, this is an integrated amp, meaning it has a volume control. There is one input for a minijack, (like portables typically use) but for a few dollars you can buy an rca to minijack converter cable to hook up a full size- CD or DVD player to it.

Summary: buy this amp!
Review: i got this to test speakers i build,as a portable.however you ought to know,a leading "hi end" audi e-mag has just tested this amp,and i think they will all get one. they had it hooked up to multi thousand $ speakers, and a very old dvd player and tv set. so they could watch movies(x files) to be exact.these guys are used to 10 thousand$ speakers, and 5K$ per yard speaker wires, and they cant say enough about this little amp.unbelievable is all i can say.

Summary: Hooked this up to my PC
Review: I had some nice Polk speakers gathering dust, and had read good things about this little amp. It's all true - 8 AA batteries never sounded so good! I'm looking to add a AC/DC 12 volt power supply; I've read about people using a 13.8v controlled PSU for the extra power, but those appear to cost more than the amp did!

Summary: A Great Little Amp
Review: I purchased this amplifier to hook up to my digital cable box. I was impressed by the power of such a little device. It took about 5 minutes to install. I could not find a power adapter, so I am using 8 AA batteries. Now I can listen to the music channels on digital cable without the television on. Very enjoyable.

My only complaint is the battery compartment. It has 2 layers of 4 batteries. The springs on the top level made it difficult to insert the lower level of batteries. Very frustrating.

Review: This cheap-o hunk of plastic sounds better than my $900 single-ended tube amp. No joke.

Summary: Outstanding sound for such a small price CLASS T!!!
Review: This is a great amp for anyone, but will fit well with a traveler or student. It doesn't matter what speakers you use, it will make them sound great! The Tripath Class T amp is unbelievable! The sound is warm and you will never go back to those *cheap* computer speaker setups. This is not cheap, just inexpensive. You can even use this amplifier to drive your home sound system. Make sure you get a good power supply or just use batteries. You can't beat the price for such an excellent sounding product. Class T is the wave of the future and this product is an incredible application of Digital Amplification. You can buy three Sonics for the price of one Griffin Pwave, although the Pwave has more features. Both are great!

Get yourself a digital amp for an unbelievable price.
