Summary: Absolutely a waste of money
Review: After my last review, I purchased an AC adaptor as per Minolta support recommendations. Still the same problem. The LCD monitor is supposed to light up when it is in PC mode and turned on. Not only does that NOT work, but I cannot get the LCD monitor to turn on to erase pics that I do not want. That, combined with the extremely poor quality pics this thing takes, makes this camera absolutely horrible. When I can manage to down load the pictures after several attempts, the pictures are extremely dark, even with a high ISO setting, Sunlight setting, and outside on a bright day with my back to the sun. I very strongly recommend NOT purchasing this camera. Save your money, save the aggravation, and spend a little more, or at least go with a different manufacturer altogether. The support is horrible, the features of the cam do not come close to what they should be. Very disappointed with this product. Don't know what to recommend, anything has to be better than this camera.

Summary: Never had a problem
Review: I enjoy this camera. And mine works with Windows Millenium just fine. I got the 64MB memory card and I have NEVER filled it up, let alone found out how many it holds. I always have 99+ displayed. It takes very nice pictures, and has nice features. The only negative is that it only zooms to 1.4 x and 2.0x and the quality then gets poor. But everything else is great.

Summary: If you pay attention to detail
Review: I have read all the reviews people have put on here about the Dimage 2300 and I think if the people actually read the manual they might not have dark pictures since the camera can be adjusted to lighten the pictures up to 4 times normal this is intentional so that when in outside sunny weather your pics dont turn out to bright. I love the pictures that the camera takes but you need to pay attention to the operators manual if you want good pictures, all in all the camera is great and takes perfect pictures if the operator would take a little time to get to know the camera. I have recomended it to several friends and neighbors and every one of them are novice computer users and take great pictures and they also think its the greatest quality and easyiest to use camera. I WOULD RECOMEND ANYONE TO BUY THIS CAMERA IF YOU ARE SMART ENOUGH TO READ THE BOOK

Summary: not something I would recommend
Review: I purchased this product a couple months ago. It does take very nice pics, but, the darkness of the photos is disappointing, as well at the trouble with downloading via the usb port. Even with fresh batteries, an error message pops up. Essentially, you have to quickly download the images, transfer them, and erase them in about 30 seconds, otherwise it won't work. Minolta tech support isn't available when I need them, so that eliminates any help from them. What initially attracted me to this product was the price, and the small size of the camera. However, I am not impressed with it one bit. Suggest spending a little more on a better product, to avoid the frustrations. I am considering selling mine and purchasing a different product from a different manufacturer.

Summary: Minolta Poor Quality
Review: I purchased this product and right from the start I had problems with it. It would not download to my computer properly. It would only download 6-7 pictures one time then only 3-4 another, all the time not allowing me to complete the download. I called Minolta tech support and the tech I spoke to knew less then I did. I returned the camera to where I purchased it and was given another one. Right out of the box it did the exact same thing. Again I called Minolta and was told to send the camera to New Jersey. Two NEW camera's and I have to send them to Jersey, come on guys at Minolta. What happened to the name recognition and quality of your products. I will never purchase another Minolta product. I have Canon camera's and have NO PROBLEMS. And what about the tech support, NONE (no help at all). Spend your money on another product.

Summary: Looks like a great value, but....
Review: I've had the Dimage 2300 a few months now and up until the present moment it's been a solid camera. Pretty decent image quality and good performance, considering the price.

All of a sudden it started bugging out. Specifically, it would blink the low battery signal after just having bought batteries. I'd try putting the camera in PC mode so I could upload all the pictures to my PC and I'd get an error on my computer saying that "The camera could not be located properly." Not only that but the camera would blink low battery again. Very frustrating; at this point I'm thinking I just threw 400 bucks out the window.

I don't know if the internal processor is cheaply designed or what, but I can say that there certainly is a reason for this camera being as cheap a price as it is. Take heed.

Summary: Decent Camera
Review: I've read a lot of reviews about this particular product and ive read that many people have problems transfering pictures into their computer. Although i found that aspect to be quite simple the real weakness of this camera is the flash. This camera is virtually useless at night. Unless the place is well lit at night you can forget about taking pictures. During the day it takes pictures pretty well. The macto feature of this camera is also pretty good.
