Summary: Very Impressed
Review: I am really impressed with my digital camera, as this is my first digital camera. It is very easy to use, its a user friendly camera.
I love all the cables that came with it. Hook it up to the TV and have a slide show. USB cable to download onto PC. Very good program to size and do whatever to your photos. A carrying case as well as a neck strap. It comes with an 8mb card, and will take the no-name upgrade cards.
It takes wonderful pictures, and I love the way that I can manully adjust the whiteness in a room. The digital and optical zooms are great and I love the LCD screen. You can take manual or automatic pictures as well.
Diffently get rechargeable batteries.... The lens cap is really easy to lose, (I've lost it once) but there is a lens cap holder on the neck strap.
I am really happy with this camera, this is one that is going to be current for at least a year. With all the extras and with all the features of the camera, diffently a very good buy.

Summary: JUNK
Review: I bought it a year ago and used it off and on - with off and on problems then finally - two weeks after my warranty expired it stopped working. Will not power on. I've researched other complaints and found this to be a common problem. If you already own one I suggest you quickly buy the extended service contract ....

Summary: RCA- Reject Camera Alert
Review: I bought this model in Dec. 2001. It is now Oct.2002. As soon as I bought it I inquired about a larger MB memory card. Store told me that they discontinued that part number and they were going to make a new one. There is still no replacements. Bought different universal cards and none worked in this camera. It started to freeze and discolored pics. The mini movie feature never worked, it only showed 16 different pics. at the same time, in a colliage. Sometimes when unit was turned on the lens would not slide out into position, or when turned off it would not slide back in the housing. I had the chance to read some of the other comments about this camera, and some of the problems with the batteries, as I also had. I bought a charger and the Nimh 1600 batteries. The camera literally burned the batteries after one month of use (and it was on the right setting). I returned and exchanged the charger and batteries, and had the same problem within a matter of 3 months. The camera always displayed the problems above when using the rechargables and not the 1 use. Now the camera will not turn on, even when plugged into wall outlet. Now, the camera is discontinued entirely, and I see why! I just bought a Little Tikes Digital Camera for kids ... and it works better (sickening!). Signed, S.O.L. in Upstate N.Y. :o(

Summary: Great Value
Review: I did a lot of research before purchasing this D-Cam. I wanted all of the features one needs for basic E-mail quality pics as well as 8X10 photos. (Some sales reps will tell you that you need 3+MP for 8X10's. Not so. They just want your $$.) You CAN print a great 8X10 when shot in FINE mode from the RCA CDS 6300, it has got it all!

The box is loaded with all you need, Compact Flash, Batteries, Strap, Case, Lens Cover, USB Cable, Serial Cable, Video Cable and an AC Adapter that you can use to conserve battery life when downloading to your PC or taking pics when 120V is close. Oh, and the Software, it is easy to use plus, you can do a LOT with it.

If you shop it, you can find a great price on it, as I did, (...)!! The features are comparable to the Fuji Finepix 2600 that I almost bought for (...) more. You can even shoot 16 pics in 4 seconds!

The CDS 6300 is a little bigger than most other 2+MP Cameras. However, if you are like me, bigger is better 'cause its easier to hold and shoot without covering the flash or lens or putting your thumbprint on the LCD. It is contoured and comfortable in your hands, unlike many other flat, square and stylishly challenged cameras.

Carry an extra set of batteries for a marathon shoot, otherwise you'll be fine.

Hope this was helpful in your search.

Summary: GREAT !!!! Camera
Review: I had a crummy digital camera so I looked hard before buying a new one. I bought this camera a few months ago and I LOVE it !!!
It is VERY easy to use (which is great because I hate to read instructions) and it takes the best pictures I have ever taken. The only drawback I have found with this camera is that it does eat batteries BIG TIME. But there is a real simple solution to that. I was able to get 4 AA recharable batteries and the recharger (...). And so I can just charge them back up whenever they run out. Oddly enough they also seem to last a lot longer (before needing recharged) than regular batteries lasted.
I bought a 64 mb card (...) and it will hold over 100 photos without downloading inbetween.
I got a hp photosmart 1218 printer and when taking the pics with this camera and printing them on that printer with hp photo paper my pictures look better than most any professionals that I have seen. I would recommend this camera to anyone.

Summary: Impressive camera
Review: I just received this camera as a xmas present and I am very, very pleased. 2 years ago when I had to decide between a 35mm and a digital camera, I opted for the 35mm as I use Photoshop a lot and I did not want to sacrifice quality. Now, as the technology has certainly improved, I am pleased to say, when given a choice, I will reach for this camera first! The pictures are beautiful both with and without the flash. But, the most impressive feature is the ability to take extreme close-ups. I took a picture of a CD at about 4 inches and I was able to read everything on the cover, crystal clear. The zoom also works extremely well. This camera has every feature you could want and at 2.3 Mega Pixels, it is a fantastic deal. I highly recommend!

Summary: Great Camera, Great Pics!
Review: I looked around for a digital camera for awhile- i found this one for a great price. The battery problem everyone talks about is no big deal. just get Nimh 1600 batteries and your set. They seem to last 3 times longer than alkalines. The economy setting produces excellent quality shots
I have tried out many digital cameras. This takes amazingly clear shots, even at night! Many, many cameras take grainy quality night pics, this one is crystal clear, even works w/o flash at night to take dark pics- great!

Pros:
- Great fit in your hand, easy to hold
- Flash pictures at night are absolutly great! Lights up everything within 50 ft!
- TV out setting, easy usb connect, Great Software!
- Nimh AA batteries last through 50 flashes, 100+ day shots
- Smooth zoom, great digital zoom quality
- Comes with EVERYTHING YOU NEED
- Uses cheap Compact Flash, any type!
- Easy to use!

Cons:
- No MPEG video mode :(
- A little heavy, but not bad!
- lens cap easy to lose

All in all great camera! Great Quality, great proffesional looking too!

A+

Summary: VERY GOOD CAMERA BUT WITH XP ,SOME DOWNLOAD PROBLEMS
Review: I LOVE THIS CAMERA FOR THE PRICE I PAID. YES BATTERIES CAN BE AN ISSUE BUT NOTHING MAJOR IF YOU ARE PREPARED FOR IT.
THE PROBLEM I HAVE FOUND IS DOWNLOADING PICTURES USING WINDOWS XP, WHICH I JUST "UPGRADED" TO. ALTHOUGH I DON'T CRASH NOW THIS PROGRAM FAILS TO COMMUNICATE WELL WITH MANY PRODUCTS. I CAN ONLY DOWNLOAD WITH MY SERIAL CONNECTION, NOT MY USB, AND THEN ONLY ONE PIC AT A TIME. TRYING TO USE MY USB CONNECTION, I AM TOLD THAT THIS ITEM IS NOT DIGITALLY SIGNED. I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO OVERCOME THIS ISSUE OR GET HELP WITH IT.
