Summary: Good for entry-level and webpage editing
Review: ...As long as you take pictures with good light you'll be fine. The flash can burn your closeups, though, and the shutter speed is so-so - forget about quick motion pictures! Also, the controls are difficult to use. With so many limitations, why four stars? Well, if the subject doesn't move and/or there's good light the quality is quite good. The USB port is great (try the serial one and you'll understand while you wait), and the TV output is convenient. All cables are included, even a power supply, and the software is good. Be careful with two things, though: don't use the diskettes included, one has the driver (an updated version is available at RCA's website) and the other one has a Windows dialup update (it wreaked havoc with my dialup windows). All in all, a great way to get started and quite enough for your website (remember, high resolution pictures take time to download).

Summary: Good inexpensive Camera
Review: I bought this camera because two others had poor ratings. I was looking for an inexpensive, half-way decent camera. That is this camera, it takes pictures with pretty good quality and the price is good. It will hold 32 pictures in normal mode and 24 in fine mode, which, is good for a family day at the park or whatever. If you are looking for a good camera to take on family trips, I recommend this camera. It's easy to use and the batteries last a long time. All cables and AC adaptor are included. Try it and you to will be impressed.

Summary: the only redeaming quality is the USB connex
Review: I did a little research online before buying this cam as my first digicam. I was looking for something VERY inexpensive, that was going to be EASY. Well the cam is definately easy to use, and definately very inexpensive, and the USB connection makes downloading images to the PC very fast....but...

If you aren't going to use a tripod, or put the camera on an imobile surface, you're going to have a problem getting pictures of any worthwhile quality. Every picture i've taken without a tripod has been blurry and poor quality. I'm not a novice when it comes to taking pictures...this cam just doesn't do a good job.

I tried many different exposure methods, many different quality settings in combo with exposure methods, and the pictures always came out too light, too dark, fuzzy, or just plain crappy.

If you are planning to make photo quality prints, this is the wrong cam for you. If you want nice clear pics to put on your web pages, this is the wrong cam for you. Frankly, I can't think of a situation you'd want to use this cam.

I, instead, decided to fork over a bit more money, and bought the olympus 460Z, and couldn't be happier. Check it out by searching electronics for olympus 460....that and the new 490 are EXCELLENT cameras with wonderful features and crystal clear images.

Even for a beginner, there are much better cams than this one.

Summary: Much too hard to use
Review: I know how to program a VCR, program in Visual Basic, manage a web site and have an extra class ham radio licence. But I couldn't figure out how to manage this little camera so am returning it. I'm glad the other reviewer like it, but I can't deal with it.

Summary: great pictures
Review: i like this camera because it is easier to operate than the one i returned. the pictures are great on tv and the computer. i printed some pictures from the computer and the quality was almost as great as the pictures developed from film. i would recommend this camera because of the easiness of the operations. the price is right for an inexpensive camera that takes great pictures.

Summary: You get what you pay for
Review: If all you want to do is take a picture of yourself or your car etc. to put up on a webpage, this will work.

but you wont get especially sharp pictures. The resolution is 640x480, but its a fairly fuzzy 640x480. If you can cough up more money, you probably should. Remember youll never have to pay for developing your pictures :)

Summary: great camera
Review: It says mac compatible. It did not have mac driver in the box and directed me to their website to download it which wasn't convenient for that computer. Then I found I still could not get the camera to work with the computer. By that time, it was too late to return it. Uhh! The only thing I could do with it, was to display a picture briefly on the television.
