Summary: First Digital Attempt
Review: Two months ago I couldn't even say "Digital Camera". Like most everyone I searched for info on the internet. After looking and studing for a couple of months I chose the Polaroid PDC 1100. I have been extremely pleased. Less than fifteen minutes out of the box I shots my first photos. The camera is an excellent buy for the first time digital user. Everything you need is included even the batteries. The manual is concise and easy to understand. The only reason I did not give the camera five stars is the software is not quite as powerful as I would liked to have seen. I was not able to rename the .jpeg files to make them easier to use. I did purchase another software...and it does everything I wanted, plus the other software had a...rebate so in essence it was free. The 1100 is an exceptional buy...from Polaroid (and) made my purchase a very pleasant experience.

Summary: Polaroid PhotoMAX PDC1300-a relative?
Review: I tried to find reviews of the 1300. Is it an older version of the 1100? Has anybody heard of it and used it? If so what did you think of it? Please write me at my email address. So far, it seems to work well.

Summary: Nice camera if you like lemons.
Review: This was a great camera for the whole two weeks it worked. I had similiar problems as the previous reviewer - flaky performance, full batteries not recognized, etc. Since this is the second faulty Polaroid 1100 camera that I have received, I am not giving it another chance. If you are willing to risk it, this is a good entry-level camera. The resolution is great and it is very easy to use.

Summary: The good, the bad, and the ugly
Review: I'm on my second Polaroid PDC1100 camera. I have had so much trouble with my first system that Amazon has been kind enough to replace first the USB cable, and eventually the entire kit. The camera worked beautifully at first but then I had trouble 1)getting my computer to recognize a connection with the camera, 2)getting pictures into the software either by the serial or USB connection, 3)battery low-life (I'm talking 10-15 pictures! Then the camera shuts down despite the battery tester indicating that the brand new batteries are fully charged). I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software to no avail. This is very frustrating because the camera and software do a beautiful job, it's just very tricky to get it to work. The editing software is very good, when I can get pictures into the system. Even with the replacement camera and software I still can not load photos into the software. I'm not giving up because all the good things other reviews say are true. But new buyers be forwarned that there MAY be some problems too. I must say that Amazon has been fantastic trying to help, however.

Summary: GREAT VALUE
Review: GREAT pictures!!!

only minus' is that there is a slight delay when you take the picture in waiting for it to snap, and Batteries run out quickly, specially when using the screen.

Summary: Great pix, nice options, battery life low
Review: This is a great entry into Digicams. Pix are great, the options for quality, flash, and display are great. The on/off switch is easy to hit while in the bag, though and battery life is fairly short. I end up taking out the batteries when not using. Other than that, I like.

Summary: Can not connect to camera!
Review: I have the Polaroid PDC 1100 Digital Camera Creative Kit. I have tried everything and can't get this hooked up to my camera. It doesn't do me any good if it isn't compatible to my camera! Polaroid hasn't been any help. Any suggestions?

Summary: Great pics, needs optical zoom
Review: Wow, I just got this thing, and Ive taken tons of pics with it already. The pictures are great. I used to have a 640x480 camera which was ok, but this one is much better. I love the lcd viewfinder. Theres nothing like being able to view the pictures on the spot. People really like that. Pictures are as good as or better than my friends kodak dc215. Super easy to use too. One thing, get a card reader for your computer. No need to hook the camera up, just pull the card and plop the pics to your harddrive in no time. Also get a bigger card. 4mb is a waste of time. I got a 32 meg and can fit about 100 pics at the high setting. Also rechargeable batteries are a must. You can get 4 ni-mh batteries and a charger from radio shack or ebay for like $20. I would have bought these things for any camera that I got so its no reflection on this cameras options. It actually comes with a lot and the usb hookup is a big deal. Try downloading 100 pictures over a serial interface. Can you say take a nap. I do wish it had an optical zoom, though, like the dc 215. Its really a nice option. But with the $50 rebate and I had a $20 amazon coupon, it cant be beat. Great pics, easy to use and great price. I only left out one star because of the no zoom thing. Other than that, Im very happy with it.

Summary: Dennis_B's problems
Review: Once the driver is installed, you are not reliant on Poloroid's software, in fact, off the shelf photo software, for as little as $10 bucks can aquire Twain devices of any manufacturer. I use a borrorowed Kodak DC-210 Picture Easy 2.0 program and it captures my Cannon scanner, EZonics web cam, and any other Twain device I have installed the driver for. Most software of this type also has some kind of color correction which corrects the shift in colorization especially in pictures taken early in the morning or late at night. It also will recapture flesh tones taken with flash which make a deathly white face. As far as the gentleman in Kentucky who found it difficult to email pics, I really can't understant him. Just save to "elsewhere on the computer" (floppy is easiest) and attach as a file for an email. You can also crop, making an optical zoom an expensive addition, providing you take your shots at the highest resolution. No one product is a five star rating right out of the box. But if you work with available resources and use it properly to your own end, you'll add at least one star to that product.

Summary: My first Digital Camera
Review: I own a 35mm camera and was never quite comfortable with it and never got around to taking a class, I read some reviews here on Amazon.com and thought this would make a good first dip into digital cameras. Without reading the instructions I was able to start taking pictures, it's controls are laid out logically. The software pretty much explain's itself. I think this would make a great camera for biginners! Once I sat down and actually read the directions I was quite pleased with all the different setting choices and the fun stuff you can do with the Photomax software. What made it five stars for me was the price. Great package, great price--what more do you need?
