Rating: Summary: Excellent value for Digital Cameras Review: This 2.1 megapixel camera is really fantastic. The colors are rich and deep, the camera recycles very quickly between pictures and the built-in USB support makes transferring the images to the PC a snap! I have taken a lot of pictures with this camera since December when I bought it. It travels well, is smaller than a lot of the cameras, the controls are very easy to work and the pictures are unbelievable. I have several pictures taken from the window of an airplane (I travel a lot) and people just cannot believe that these came from a digital. (NY skyline and the Grand Canyon). I don't even miss not having a zoom on this camera. It is a great adjunct to my regular APS camera. You will not be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: Excellent camera (till now) Review: This camera has been great until this past week. The dial broke off, so now I can't use it. I've read other places that this is a common problem. So if you like Toshiba, you might want to look at one of their newer models.
Rating: Summary: Great product, when it has the dial Review: This camera has been great until this past week. The dial broke off, so now I can't use it. I've read other places that this is a common problem. So if you like Toshiba, you might want to look at one of their newer models.
Rating: Summary: FANTASTIC CAMERA! Review: This camera is the best of 3 digital camaras that we own! The pictures are CRYSTAL CLEAR. It is extremely EASY TO USE. It is LIGHT WEIGHT. and best of all... The down loading of pics to my PC is so FAST and SIMPLE! I would recommend this to anyone and everyone interested in a digital camera.
Rating: Summary: Really Disappointed Review: This camera was great until just like the others - the dial broke while I was on vacation. Camera shops refer you to the Toshiba website. The Toshiba website is useless. Unfortunately, I never came across these reviews while I was researching digital cameras. Don't buy this one!
Rating: Summary: 3 years & still clickin' Review: We purchased this camera 3 years ago just after my first child was born. We bought it refurbished from uBid. That was probably perfect because some other poor soul had to have problems with it first. The point is, it has taken a beating with children dropping it, slobbering on it, playing with it, etc. It still takes great pictures even after all the abuse it's had.
I will say that the indoor photo quality isn't as great as outdoor, a little noisy. Also, I've opted not to use the zoom feature at all as the picture quality is cut in half when the 2x zoom is used. We put a 128MB memory card in it, so now it runs out of battery before memory. But it came with a charger, and will charge up in about 4 hours, and can be used while charging.
This is the perfect camera for what we needed it for... capturing moments & memories. As long as the subjects are close enough, & you get your timing down with the shutter speed which is adjustable, it'll take great shots.
The software is okay, it had a flaw with the "rotate right" shortcut, supposed to be "Ctrl R", but that actually rotates left as does "Ctrl L". Also, there is no red-eye removal on the software which is needed for some of the indoor pictures. But the print options are great, I've had a lot of fun with it.
Overall, I would rate the Toshiba PDR-M4 with 4.5 stars. It was an excellent value, a great purchase we don't regret!
