Summary: Disappointed
Review: The pictures don't seem to be as good as they should be. The cameria uses batteries quickly, and the flash is inadaquate. The software is simple, the uploading of pictures is efficient, but if it doesn't work, there aren't many diagnostics. But for [the cost] what do you expect? I think just a little bit more.

Summary: Some Agfa`products are toy.
Review: The price of this camera is good, but...

This is not 2mb camera, I think this is 1mb camera.
This camera do not make 640x480 images, I think it`s make 320x240 interpolated image.
The image is bad and dark. Forget, dont lose time.

Obs.: sorry for my inglesh, i am from Brasil.

Summary: Not worth buying
Review: The software that comes with it does not work, you have to upgrade from Agfa website. I was only able to use it twice and it didn't work anymore. The pictures are of very poor quality and you can only take close ups. If you are over 7 ft the persons come out irrecognizable and if you take a field picture it comes out over exposed all the time.

Summary: Buyer Beware
Review: This camera eats batteries...We finally purchased an AC adaptor at Radio Shack to use when we are downloading photos but it still goes through the batteries very quickly.

This camera works best for outdoor pictures. Indoor pictures are either too dark or washed out if the flash is used.

Also, although this camera is still being sold by many retailers, according to AGFA they are no longer producing or selling this camera and the software for it is unavailable.

Summary: What you would expect for the price!
Review: This camera has a lot of features for the buck. It is easy to operate. I found that if it won't download the images, just restart the Photowise program, turn the camera off and then on again. It is a good idea to use a power adapter when downloading to spare the batteries. However, it can be difficult to find a cheap 1 amp adapter. At first I thought this camera could not produce good images. But, with some practice, it's not too bad. Just make sure there is plenty of light. I don't recommend monitor image sizes much bigger than 4.5 X 3.4. The video still images are quite acceptable . The video camera moving picture is pretty noisy, even when the subject is well lit. After reading about imagers, I am guessing that this camera has a CMOS imager because of its low light sensitivity. CCD imagers are still much better.

I think with realistic expectations, you will be contented with this camera.

Summary: Don't waste your time
Review: This camera's image quality is so bad Agfa should not even bother trying to sell it. The problem is with the camera's image compression algorithm. Instead of evenly dividing up the 2MB of storage space, they thought it might be a good idea to compression each image and cause so much data loss that images show excessive pixilation. I didn't have a problem with the 640x480 resolution or 8-bit color depth just the lousy fuzzy looking images the camera produces. If image quality doesn't matter to you, you might even like the camera's slick serial port hookup, compact size, and top mounted operations options window as well as the excellent Photowise image software utility.

Summary: My digital camera review agfa smile camera
Review: This is a very good camera for someone who is just getting started with digital photography. I am very well satisfied with my pictures. However, close ups of items such as jewelry are not too good. But, for a small price for pictures of other things you can't go wrong.
