Rating: Summary: SUPERB !! Review: *******************************************************I just ordered this camera and it arrived within a week, I must say that I am very pleased with this camera so far, the picture quality is perfect, rich colors and sharp resolution, just what u would expect from 2.1 megapixel. The LCD display is crystal clear and other controls are simple and easy to use. More than anything, this camera has all the features that competing brands have and at a much lower price. It is really an amazing value at 139$ if u compare it with the HP 318/Fuji A201 which sell at 189$ and the Kodak 3500 which retails at 199$. All these cameras are in the 2 mp range with 2x digital zoom which is exactly what Toshiba offers at a much lower price. Combine it with the free 32mb memory card and u have a winning offer ! Here are some of the plus points of this camera : - Superb picture quality and clear LCD. - Low light performance is awesome. I took shots in a completely dark room ( with flash of course ! ) and the pictures came out perfectly, most digital cams give a blurred image in low light, not Toshiba ! - Autofocus gives better picture quality than fixed focus ( btw the Olympus D-380 is fixed focus and thats why it is cheap for an Olympus ) - It has features like Macro mode and Burst mode which are difficult to find in this price range. - Also has a black&white mode to take B/W snaps ! - Finally it is an amazing value at 139$, it is difficult to find a good 1.3 mp camera at this price, let alone 2.1 megapixel. If u are in the market for a digital camera, get this Toshiba before it is sold out, u wont find a better value than this for a long time to come... *********************************************************
Rating: Summary: Never did get this one to work. Review: After 2 days of trying to install this camera on my computer, I gave up and bought something else. I'm using Windows XP and apparently the driver disk that this camera comes with does not support XP. So I went on Toshiba's website and downloaded the necessary patch for XP, but it STILL wouldn't work - I would get a message that it could not find my camera. After calling and e-mailing Toshiba tech support, I still didn't get the camera to work with my computer. I was, however, pleased with the camera itself. The LCD screen was very clear and setup of the camera itself was easy. The function button on the back is a little clumsy and too easy to touch during regular operation. From the sounds of it - this is a great camera, just beware if you're running Windows XP.
Rating: Summary: an ok product Review: camera seems to work ok. pluses are: the software loaded easily and dumping to pc goes well.--but there are no directions as to how to use it the photo album. pictures seem to be clear and crisp. the camera manual is typical Toshiba. The binding covers the page numbers in the table of contents. You have to carry a thick manual because of the languages, I think I'll cut mine for the English only. The instructions on deleting pictures stink. Deleting pictures works the opposite of the manual. I had to call Toshiba help to find that out. If the camera surface was not so smooth, it would be easier to grip and one would be less liklely to drop it. Much easier on batteries than I had feared. All-in-all a nice product, but should be easier to use for the first time digital user.
Rating: Summary: question? Review: Can this Camera act as a web Camera? Thanks
Rating: Summary: Good Value Review: I bought this camera 3 months ago. It takes wonderful photos with very little bother. I use a card reader ... to download 128M of photos very fast. I have had no problem with Windows XP after downloading from the Toshiba website the updated drivers. The image qualities are excellent and the camera is easy to use. A great, practical camera at an affordable price.
Rating: Summary: a lot of camera for the money! Review: I bought this camera and I love it! It takes great pictures! Its perfect for any one who wants a good camera at a reasonable price. The only drawback is I have windows xp and no matter what I did could not get the camera to download to the pc direct even with the windows xp driver I downloaded, so ended up getting a card reader which is plug and play and easy to use.I highly recomend this camera. It does seem to use regular alkaline batteries fast but found that the energizer e2 titanium last a long time. so they are well worth the extra money. It takes just as good pictures as the cameras that cost twice the price. Also toshiba customer service are really good about trying to help you if you have problems, as i did with the drivers.great buy for the money!!!!
Rating: Summary: OK for the price Review: I bought this camera to replace my (aging) Kodak DC260 which is a 1.3 MP camera. I thought that getting this camera now with more resolution would tide me over until I wanted to spend more later. My gripes with the camera compared to the 260 are these. First, the smart media is more expensive than the compact flash. Second, I really really really miss having the optical zoom. If you think about it, taking a 1.3 MP picture with 3x zoom is better than taking a picture from further away with more pixels but no zoom. Third, even though it claims to be on the specs page, the camera is not compatible with Mac OS (tried in 10.1.5). I had to go buy a smart card reader to get the pictures off. Toshiba's web site does not claim Mac compatibility though so I wasn't expecting much here. Fourth, I miss the ability of the DC260 to show the pictures on TV. On the plus side over my old camera, the Toshiba is extremely fast. With the flash turned off outside I could take pictures very rapidly. The battery life seems to be pretty good. Macro mode is easy to use and allows me to take great pictures of flowers and such. The price is great too.
Rating: Summary: Not worth the price Review: I had to return the camera twice, first because the view finder is crooked and second it does not take clear pictures. I had a HP 1.3 megaplex camera before and it took better pictures.
Rating: Summary: don't buy this junk! Review: I received the camera two weeks ago and return it two days later. The camera's LCD is not clear at all and cannot view subjects clearly. It is not worth a hessle!
Rating: Summary: Great camera! Review: I recently bought this camera off EBay and couldn't be happier for the price I gave! The pictures come out so clear most of the time, occassional blurry or discolored one but no big deal. Very easy to use, even my 7 year old can work this camera. Only problem I have with this camera at all is the delay for taking the picture. I didn't get the manual with the camera so maybe I have it set wrong or am doing it wrong (haha) but it takes a few seconds to take the picture, but well worth it for the quality in pictures for a 2.1 MP camera! Highly recommend!!!
