Summary: Fuzzy images
Review: I recently bought this camera for my 5 year old and I can't take
a good picture with it. I have made sure the lens was clean, I
use a tripod and the camera's self timer(to eliminate shake), and
I have tried all kinds of lighting (even full sun light). I also
used my nikon coolpix800 on vga mode (same resolution as the
polaroid) with the basic quality (super high jpeg compression).
The images from the nikon were 1/3 the file size of the polaroid
images and the quality is far better. The nikon images are
sharper even though the jpg compression is greater. The
polaroid images are all blurry.

Summary: Polaroid fun flash digital camera
Review: I recently purchased this camera, and wasn't expecting too much since I had already been disatisfied with 2 other low end digital cameras. I was very surprised at the quality of the pictures once they are downloaded. They are very clear. The lcd screen is pretty blurry, but I was tickled to even get one on a digital camera for the price! All I really wanted a camera for was to send family and friends pictures over the email. I don't care too much for how the camera shuts off after 30 seconds, but heck, for the price I'm not complaining! I only gave 80 bucks for mine, so I would definitely say it was worth it!

Summary: Perhaps the worst digital camera one could ever own
Review: I would like to emphasize my vehement title all the more by stating that I have only had my camera under a year and have used it to perhaps produce only about three dozen images or so, and it has already 'gone kaput' on me. That's right, it turns out that the plates which transmit the current created with the battery are highly corrosive, and one slightly leaky battery finished the thing off.

But don't think that I'm warning you off simply because of an 'assualt of battery,' as it were. The camera was a piece of junk from the get-go --- the images were incredibly poorly resolved, and good luck if you wanted to take any pictures at night outdoors. Or indoors during the day, for that matter. Or anywhere, at any time, with any lighting, for that matter. It takes the camera about a full minute to focus, and even then any nearby lightsource will create horrendous glares. The only thing 'fun' about this camera was perhaps the software that came with it --- although it proved that I needed software of such editing caliber if I was going to try to produce an image that actually looked like anything. The price might seem 'right' to you, but I assure it you it isn't worth the extra twenty bucks it would take to buy a 'real' camera.

Summary: The Best Camera - The Best Price
Review: I've purchased this camera refurbished and its great. The pictures are very good quality, the LCD screen is a little fuzzy but you an see how your picture came out its not bad. This is the cheapest camera with an LCD screen. I reccomend this so much. I started with a Jamcam - great pictures, but no LCD screen and sometimes the pictures would be horrible. I figured for my trip to north carolina, I would enjoy a better way to get my pictures processed - DO it myself, With a better camera! I bought the Ink, the picture paper, and boy this camera rocks! I haven't gone to N.C yet but everyday i always find someway to use my camera.
Another Great feature is the software, it has the greatest options and is just as fun as the camera. Another great feature is its auto shut off, where if you forget to turn off the camera it shuts itself off. Another feature is the battery life, even with the LCD color screen, the batterys last very long. This is a very good quality camera, not an expensive one , and definity worth the price. I GIVE THIS CAMERA 5 stars!

Summary: How to get around the "Not compatible with Windows NT" error
Review: If you use the program compatability wizard on the setup program on the CD the software for the camera will install and run fine in XP. I rated the camera low because mine too has the same issues with the lcd (mylar ribbon inside the camera loses contact) and I do agree that all serial port connected cameras are slow to transfer images(after all serial ports were only designed for analog modems anyway). My camera also has a single bad pixel in the center of the CMOS imager that is always black.

Summary: Not Worth Buying
Review: In May of 2001 I purchased this item for my birthday. I was very excited about it. When I settled down to open it on I saw pictures of someone's home. Of course I was curious as to if these were sample pictures or it had been used. Come to find out it had been used because the guy at [store] told me it was new even though the corner had been slightly tampered with.

After this I was ready to get a camera that was brand new. So the next day I exchanged my old camera for a new one. This one had problems downloading onto my computer. I would have to push the portrait select button for the portraits to download, which made me really upset because it took me a long time to figure out why the picture wouldn't download.

I took it back and got another one and it worked pretty well and lasted for a little while. I took it with me to Florida. Even though it lasted for a while it didn't last that long. I had problems trying to turn it on. I would press the on/off button several times hoping for it to come on. I even checked the battery supply in the batteries and they weren't even close to going out of power. I finally took the camera back for good.

After going through several cameras I don't plan on buying another on like this. The camera doesn't even take all good pictures because it has no zoom. I don't recommened this camera.

Summary: Extremely limited in what it can do
Review: It was my first digital camera, and all I was looking for was something to snap pictures to send via email.

For that purpose, it's fine. Sort of. The images are consistently blurry and there isn't a lot of detail thanks to the low-resolution sensor.

I decided on a whim to buy a Kodak DX3700 3.1-megapixel camera, hoping to get higher-resolution images (I knew nothing about digicam technology last year...call it naivety). Okay, first of all the Kodak is definitely more expensive. Secondly, the Kodak's photos are light-years better than the Polaroid's. Period.

I have now shelved the low-resolution Polaroid and have used the Kodak exclusively.

If you're on a budget and don't mind inferior images, then the Polaroid is great. But if you plan on printing your pictures, then get at least a 3.0-megapixel digicam and ignore this Polaroid entirely.
