Summary: Kodak DC240 Digital Camera
Review: I was recently very lucky to receive this digital camera as a gift for my birthday. Having had an ordinary 35 mm camera previously this camera is like a dream come true. Excellent pictures, easy to review after taking them and extremely easy to operate. All the instructions are straightforward and the controls are very simple to use even for someone like me who is a basic amateur photographer. Within a few weeks of having the camera I have taken some wonderful photos. I have found uploading them extremely easy especially in conjunction with Photosuite III.

Summary: Amazingly successful design - full of great features!
Review: I've had cameras since I was 9 years old. I own 2 Nikon F3s with an assortment of screens, viewers & lenses that cover just about any photographic condition one could imagine. I also own an HP Photosmart S20xi filmstrip scanner (another great piece of equipment). So why did I buy a Kodak Digital Camera? Because there are always situations which demand (or at least are greatly enhanced by) a reduced timespan between the shot and the finished product. The features I'm most pleased with in the DC240 are: Ease of Use - The controls for flash, resolution, etc. are laid out very clearly and sensibly on the top of the camera along with an LCD screen that is easy to see and understand, far superior to any of a number of point & shoot cameras that my wife & I have used for convenience for years. The viewfinder is bright and easy to focus & although it doesn't cover the entire image to be captured, the LCD screen on the back more than compensates for this. The 3X Optical Zoom has a great range, the upper end of which is perfect for undistorted portraits. I have not used the Digital Zoom feature. The Menu Setup lets you set defaults for things like Flash Setting (at last no more red-eye problems with spontaneous dog, cat & kiddie pictures) is a godsend. The downloading capability (especially with the USB interface) is not be be believed for speed and convenience. Once the Kodak drivers are loaded, you plug the camera into your PC, launch Explorer & the camera appears as a device just like a disk. You can select all the shots (they're jpg files) copy them to your hard disk & delete them from your flash card right in the camera in about a minute or less, all in a single drag & drop operation. Wow! Finally, the quality of the output is impressive. Even though this camera doesn't have the top resolution available on some other models, I have printed 8X10s on PhotoQuality paper (using an Epson 900) that are as immaculately sharp as a chrome print. The colors are sensational: accurate, saturated, rich. What else? Well, this gadget's help me greatly improve sales on EBay. & what about the Nikons? I still use them for birds, flowers, sports, macro & telephoto stuff. Everything in its place.

Summary: Good Camera
Review: The camera has several excellent qualities, but some draw backs as well.

Pro: - Excellent still photos - Very good design, software, menu system - Easy to use - Good quality in varying conditions

Con: - Not good for action photography ( try a camera with an ISO equivalency of 400 or better ) - Poor battery life, although most digital cameras are like this

Summary: Great and easy camera
Review: The Kodak DC240 is a very user-friendly camera that gets wonderful pictures. For a point and shoot camera you can't do better, in my opinion.

Summary: Price AND quality
Review: The Kodak DC240 is great. The menu and features on the camera itself are very easy to use, and there are some added features that i really like. The lcd screen can be turned on and off to show the picture about to be taken w/special effects that were set (e.g. black & white) and has a digital zoom of 2X, which is very neat to be able to zoom in on things, getting two times closer than with the naked eye. The camera has video output, which i havnt gotten working yet, dc output, which i havnt gotten working yet either, i think it takes a special dc cord... and aside from those two the other main flaw is the cord to connect w/the computer that it comes with. When connected the software takes almost a full minute to display 1 picture for editing etc, which is just simply too long. I have the serial cable which came with it, but i suspect the usb will be much faster, i recommend buying it as an accesory. Otherwise, the software works great, lets u auto enhance the picture, making it brighter etc, or you can edit it in microsoft paint, cut and paste and do whatever. very cool. I would really recommend buying it because if you go all out and spend a thousand dollars on a great 6.w/e megapixle camera, you will be very disappointed because in 4 months you can get the same camera at $400... when i buy electronics i go halfway, that is to say i buy a good product that isnt TOP quality, but very affordible. this camera is great for that reason... the picture quality is just FINE. i find it better than a non digital camera, and in the pc/mac software you can zoom in even more, showing off its digitalness by holding a steady sharpness that is great. the only difference between this camera and a top quality camera is really, just the amnt of megapixles. i find this camera to be everything i need and more, even if it has under 1.5 mp!

Summary: My First DC
Review: The Kodak DC240 is the first digital camera that I have bought - needless to say, I was a bit nervous about this purchase. There are so many DC's out there, making the decision even harder. I bought the camera and 5 minutes after putting the batteries in the camera, I was using it to take pictures of my kids, the dog, my wife, the wall, the trees and basically anything that was within my immediate view was not safe from my picture taking. The camera is so easy to use and has such a wonderful picture resolution that I would like to dub the camera -The Kodak DC240 - as being "stupid proof". Anyone can use it and the picture quality that it offers is remarkable. I highy recommend the camera.

Summary: Great for first time Digital Camera users!
Review: The main aspect of this camera is it's user friendlieness. It has a basic design, and easy for capture & review. This was my second, and i couldn't stand it. You had to go through file after file to get them onto the computer. With this camera, it iss hard at first, but after you do it once, you can't froget, like riding a bike! Although it isn't the most technological and it doesn't have super excellent quality, it is perfect for the everyday user. I hope you enjoy it like i did!
