Summary: Great camera!
Review: I own a Canon 35mm camera & love it! I've taken tons of pics & always hated waiting to finish the roll, & then to wait & go have it developed. Most of my photos wound up being scanned & posted on the internet. So I firgured a digital camera would be better. I did a lot of searching & reading the reveiws of others about their purchases.
I bought the A10 for several reasons: 1)The name Canon. 2)I didn't need the movie mode. 3)Takes 4 AA batteries. 4)I wasn't worried about the 1.3 pixels since I don't print my images. (The A10s image is better than a sharp 35mm pic after it has been scanned)
The software to download was simple & the operation of the camera is easy to learn.
I use the LCD screen very little, the optical viewfinder is perfect. The viewfinder zooms in & out with the lens.
My very 1st image turned out great! I've owned the A10 a week now & LOVE it! I take the camera everywhere I go.

Summary: Great Entry Level Digital Camera
Review: I purchased the A10 last November to take to Saint Augustine for our anniversary. This camera is a joy to use. Simple to learn features, great pictures, Canon got it right with this baby. One word of caution: batteries, place them in correctly, or you may have a fire as I a previous reviewer had.
You won't regret the Canon A10.

Summary: Perfect for my purposes
Review: I take a lot of photographs and have big Nikon SLRs and a Leica. I do notecards and other things and sell them locally. I was looking for something that I could use when I am hiking or travelling to take low resolution photos to send to friends as e-mail attachments or to make photo quality 4X6 and the occassional 5X7 print, or for note cards. This camera is really great. I don't use the LCD, so I get 712 photos on a 64 MB flash card. It still shows an image for about 2-3 seconds after you shoot, just to make sure the photo is OK and you don't have to reshoot. I also got a flash card reader to connect to my USB port so I don't have to use the camera to download. I just remove the flashcard, stick it in the reader and download. The zoombrowser software is great. I can file photos by lake or village or date or trip or whatever way I want. For the money, this camera gives me the greatest bang for the buck I ever got in a camera. The images I send on the internet are beautiful. Everyone that gets them comments on them. If this thing had a hot shoe for using a bigger flash and a dial to switch back and forth quickly between resolution settings so I could take one at high for prints and the same photo at low for e-mail, this camera would be perfect for my purposes. I love this camera!

Summary: Better than my old S100
Review: I used to have a Canon Elph S100. I took so many pictures with it that when it died I didn't know what to do. I was livid after spending [the money} to have two rolls of film developed at the drug store. I pretty much only take pictures to put on the web. I'm not a big fan of hard-copy prints.

So, after some shopping around, I decided the A10 was perfect. I never used the higher resolutions of the S100 (2.1Mpix). The larger size of the A10 actually translates into a much better user interface. Plus, you can get lens and filter kits for the A10. I just wish it had a better manual focus mode!

Summary: I love this camera!!
Review: I've had every kind of camera in the past, and finally decided to try digital. I thought it would be a "fun" camera to have for certain situations, but didn't have high expectations for the picture quality. I have to say that this camera has exceeded my expectations!! The picture quality is great and I like being able to edit the color, brightness and contrast with the included Canon software. I just received the camera and took a total of 34 pictures over 2 days, with the LCD turned on for most of them. We looked at the pictures on the LCD 3-4 times and downloaded 18 of them to the computer from the camera and the batteries are still going strong. I went out yesterday and bought an external card reader to download from and that works super too. This camera is a bargain at $...! I highly recommend it! I also ordered the Lowepro D-Res 10 AW Digital Camera Bag, and it fits this camera like a glove.

Summary: small and perfect
Review: I've had the camera for about 2-weeks and have taken over a hundred shots indoors and outdoors. Every picture looks great except if I try to print extra large pictures over 5x7 {which I never do anyway} this is a great camera for the price, I would hold off on purchasing a more expensive camera, ..., until they perfect this technology, especially the battery issue! I would recommend rechargeable batteries and turn off viewer, use 32mb compact flash card, the zoom and auto focus are great, also has excellent manual controls that can be viewed by the on/off display, before taking the picure. Red eye is very poor. camera has 1 yr. warranty! I'm having alot of fun with this camera just snapping away and creating picure disks and slide shows....

Summary: A Great Buy
Review: I've wanted to buy a digital camera for a while now but had no idea what to get until someone lent me their Canon A10. I didn't have time to read the manual so I went straight to the gallery and started shooting paintings in auto mode. The pictures cames out pretty good except for some wide angle distortion. Now I know to shoot smaller paintings at a longer focal length to avoid distortion.
I loved the feel of the camera and was pleased with the clarity of its LCD monitor so I bought one myself. Now I'm having a lot of fun with it, emailing images to everyone. The editing software that comes with the camera is quite easy to use too. Despite having only 1.3 megapixels, this camera gets good sharp images with good color.

Summary: Easy to use, good quality images
Review: The other reviewers have covered the many fine qualities of this camera. I want to explain what this camera (or any digital camera) has in common with a Barbie doll. The Barbie doll itself is not that expensive. But once you buy it, you will want all the accessories -- Ken, Barbie's Dream House, her sportscar, clothes -- and that's what puts a ding in your wallet. Same here. You will love the camera. But you will need to buy the AC adapter and Amazon doesn't carry it. (Try TechDepot.) The batteries will croak very quickly if you use them to power the camera while it is connected to a PC or a notebook. Invest in a charger and rechargeable batteries. The camera comes with a mingy 8MB Compact Flash card. You will want a 64MB card, at the very least. Not to mention a camera case! I recommend the camera highly. Just keep in mind that the purchase price is only your FIRST expenditure.
