Summary: Good little thing
Review: This camera is amazing for its size and price. The pictures arent the best quality when taken inside a building with bad lights but once you go outside the pictures are pretty good. Also if you ever have any problems if you go to the main homepage of the company they will tell you exactly what to do and what they say works. This camera fits in your pocket and can take a beating and still works perfectly. File transfer to the computer is quick and it comes with lots of programs to hepl edit your photos. The video feature works well too. The bad thing is that the camera doesnt have flash but ifs there isnt enough light the camera wont let you take the picture. Great investment for fun pictures!

Summary: The most returned camera in the universe
Review: Another notorious online website (not this one) is offering 999 REFURBISHED SiPix II cameras for a few bucks, that means, at least 1000 costumers have returned these cameras to the manufacturer. Do you need to know more?

Summary: What a great little toy!
Review: I bought myself this tiny little digital camera... And I do mean tiny. It's about three inches by two inches, less than an ounce without its battery, and it cost about $35.00 (at discount price). It came in a horrible, terrible, ugly box that made it look like complete trash. But it's a nice little thing. It's brushed titanium and light blue brushed aluminum. Gives it a posh/stylish/modern look. It can take 300 pictures at 320x240 or 70 pictures at 640x480. No flash, no focus, no nothing. Just good for LiveJournal snaps and scrapbooking, and silly spontaneous email pics. Gotta have good light, too, if you want crisp pictures. Luckily, it has a clever little light sensor that triple-beeps and refuses to take the shot if it's too dark. If it's too dark, you can take grainy pictures, but they're good enough as mementos and Kodak moments. Useless as prints, great for online stuff. Gotta use this camera for what it's good for... don't try to treat it like an inexpensive "real" camera, because it ain't that!

The so-called "big downside" is that it runs on a single AAA battery and a RAM memory chip, which constantly drains the battery, even when the camera's powered off. It will only run about 5-7 hours on the battery and then, if you haven't downloaded them already, you lose all your pictures. Poof. It has a snazzy little USB interface that zips the pictures onto your hard drive automagically once you plug it in. Then you can start over. But I can imagine one day I'll forget to promptly offload, and be completely upset at it for eating the snapshots. I chose this camera because it was steeply discounted due to its unpopularity. The critics said, "Great camera, but I have to be around a computer ALL DAY or I lose my pictures!" And I thought myself, "Self - you ARE around a computer all day." And so I think it'll be a fun little toy.

Summary: Erm....
Review: Just got this little thing today, put new battery in and took about 16 pictures, which it seemed to hold for about 4 hours or so, but not long enough for me to get it home to download. Yet, the battery indicator shows enough power, which means I had better take a spare with me to change very quickly just to hold the memory, hence the 3 star rating. But in saying that, I did get this just to learn with, as I am planning to purchase a 'proper' digital camera at some point, about the 3 or 4 megapix range.

It's absolutely no good indoors with normal house lighting, but will try outdoors tomorrow to see what the limitations are, and to see how long I can keep the piccys stored before downloading with a spare battery.

The £29.85 I spent on the thing would have bought me a nice lunch, but we'll see how we go.

Software and drivers ok to load on win98se, and I have arcsoft studio 2000, so might try a little image editing with that. Good toy for the kids.

Summary: Quality and Sipix do not meet
Review: The pictures on the best quality don't look normal. There is blotching resulting in blurred pictures. Even in extremely well lit situations, they still look odd. The previous model has better picture quality oddly. You would think they would get better in picture quality. I believe they just found more cost effective ways of producing the units as to reduce price. Unless your looking for extreme portability or a gift for a child, this is not a good buy.

Summary: Does its job but messes up
Review: This camera takes decent pictures, as long as you're not expecting the same resolution and clarity as a regular digital camera. It's more like an equivalent of a Polaroid I-Zone except it's digital. That's about the quality of the pictures.

With that said, this camera is great for taking spy pictures. I've taken pictures where I've been told "cameras are not allowed" and it's fun and exciting. The only thing is it makes a pretty loud beep. So I usually have to take pictures while holding my cell phone and pretend I'm talking, and that the beep is coming from the cell phone.

The major drawback of this camera is that it drains the battery even while you're not using it. It uses the battery (one AAA) to keep the pictures stored in the memory. If you insert a new battery but don't use the camera for a month, you'll find that the battery's dead even though you haven't even used it! And if there are any pictures in the memory, you would lose them all if the battery dies. So my routine with this camera is, I put the battery in only when I am about to use it, I take the pictures, then leave the battery in and download the pictures as soon as possible. Then I remove the batteries as soon as I'm done. It's very inconvenient.

So overall, a fun little gadget, with still some major issues to iron out.

Summary: Don't lose your software !
Review: I bought the original SiPix Blink and really liked it. Very tiny and adequate resolution pics for web pages and really small stuff. Nice to be able to carry it in the pocket. The company has terrible customer support - replacement software costs $19.99 and there is no way to download it and ... get this, they don't take credit cards so you need to mail them a check!! I can't figure out why they need to charge $20 for the software, since it will only work with their device. Also, by the time you get the software the battery will have drained down and poof - goodbye pictures.

Summary: it works but i've used better
Review: I got this from e-bay it was still in the box and had never been opened. I mostly got it for the webcam purpose but i used the camera to. it is hard to use because when you look though the hole at what you want to take a picture of you have to make sure to aim it up so that you actually get what you want. overall i like it but i'm going to get a different digital camera.

Summary: You don't even get what you pay for!
Review: The price may be attractive, but beware:
- This camera uses its AAA battery even when it's turned off (yes, this is documented). So if you take some pictures, and leave the camera sitting around a few days, poof, no more pictures. Even if you keep on top of this you'll be going through a lot of batteries (they tell you NOT to use rechargeables).
- The camera settings (for resolution, exposure, etc.) are lost each time you turn the camera off, so if you like a specific setting that's not standard, you have to reconfigure it each time you use the camera.
- The image quality is nothing great... colors are washed out, details are blurry, and images are out of focus around the edges (though some people might like the 'arty' effect this sometimes causes)
- The camera software is buggy... currently I have 46 pictures in the camera, but when I try to transfer them to my PC, their transfer software crashes after only transferring 8 pictures, every time.
- Their web site, though it does have some technical info and downloads, doesn't provide any email-based support.

Summary: You can't be serious...
Review: If you want to take pictures, use a REAL digital camera, not this little piece of junk. Now, camera phones are cool, since you can also make phone calls with them. This camera, on the other hand, probably isn't any better than a camera phone, and you can't even make phone calls. Even if this phone is better than a camera phone, it's still a piece of junk, because camera phones are a high tech as you can get for camera integrated cell phones. If this camera's only $28, it's gotta be crappy. I suggest getting a film camera or at least a 2 megapixel digital camera.
