Rating: Summary: Good Cheap Digital Video Camera Review: After hearing the troubles of digital cameras from many different people. I am pleasantly surprised at the ease of use and the relatively good quality of pictures. The downloading to a PC is a snap and if any trouble comes up the camera can be re-downloaded without a hitch. I work in the computer software and hardware industry so I can say with confidence that this product has a great balance of price and power. Just having the ability to record movies AVI's (short ones) and sound - WAV files should put this product in a higher price bracket . thanks for keeping it affordable Argus

Rating: Summary: Good Cheap Digital Video Camera Review: I just bought this camera today. At the time I thought I was getting a great deal, but now I realize that I probably paid a fair price accurate of its worth since it is no longer on the market. The picture quality of still photos and video clips of a maximum 10 sec. long is really below mediocre so far. The one I bought was obviously a store return, since it had some very blurry family photos stored on the internal memory when I got it. One thing that is confusing me - There was this one photo of a girl on the beach which was crystal clear. Maybe the camera came with that picture already on the memory as a sample, but I have been totally unable to get pictures anything like that on my camera. The camera was very easy to use once I read the owners manual and it does an excellent job on the sound recordings. It has some quirks on the way you do things which are easy once you figure them out, but if you have ever used another digi. camera then you might be confused. I have used digital cameras of friends and relatives, and since I'm not in a financial position to get a digital camera of any quality, I'm happy, but if you want good pictures or good digital video files and you can afford more, I would recommend something else. This camera is everything that it promises, but it is still "bottom rung".

Rating: Summary: Good camera from a local company... Review: The DC 2700 does all that the box says. Picture quality for the resolution stated is pretty good. It takes short *.avi clips and includes sound in them too. Other cameras don't have the sound. It can be used in Netmeeting too. I noticed it has a different kind of LCD panel that is not really an LCD, but it is an acceptable substitute. Menus are easy to use, and you can "jump out" to take a picture and then "jump back" to the menu you were in. The camera body is real lite and easy to hold. Its small and narrow, but will not fit in a shirt pocket. I liked that it had a focus ring for the viewfinder and you can adjust the exposure lighter or darker with just two buttons without going thru the menus. Batteries are not a problem even with the LCD on. Since its not a true LCD, you don't have that problem with batteries. My only dislike is that I had some trouble knowing how to take a picture in low light situations with this camera. You seem to have to allow time for the camera to adjust automatically to the low light situation. The pictures you get in hi res are not many with out adding more memory. It takes the Compact Flash type if I remember. The quality is OK if you are willing to accept 640 X 480 resolution. And you can take sound *.avi's. And the software it comes with is pretty good too.... Argus has been around for a long time (at least since 1940) and is in a suburb of Chicago. They have a website and a forum. Get it at ... Kmart....
