Summary: excellent camera...battery problem as well
Review: I recently purchased this product, mainly appealed by the docking station and recharging features. I agree with the other reviewer...I too had battery problems. Same identical "red light flashing" indicating the need for new batteries, after just 8 shots. I had to use the power from the camera dock to reset the unit and get powered up again. I let the unit charge for the required "24-hours" yet the docking station indicated it was fully charged after just one. I then switched to AA-Lithiums for awhile. After going back to the rechargable's, I have had no problems since. Really odd...works fine now though..

Otherwise, the Camera is GREAT!! Easy to use, takes great photo's. The viewer is high quality and optical focus makes it worth the price over the DX3500. I take all photos at 1800 x 1200 and with the expansion card, you get 49 photos of best quality (on flash card) and 24 in-camera memory. This camera package is perfect for first-time users. Four out of Five stars due to the battery snafu early on.

Summary: My Kodax DX 3600!
Review: I would like to say, Kodak got it"right", with this beauty. The camera handles very well, fits right in my hand. Being a amateur photographer, it is a pleasure to use. The pictures are filled with great color, exibiting excellent shadows, and brilliant highlights. I am in "LOVE", with this camera. In my opinion, a good set of rechargeables, can suit you fine, without having to buy the dock, but to each his own. I have seen some negative reviews of this camera, but from me.....Kodak did this one "right". Try one out. I have some excellent night scenes, as well as people shots, in low light. I "LOVE" it. The videos are a "blast". This is a "great" camera. Just another shutterbug going "nuts", over his new "toy". Digital photography...WOW!

Summary: Great 1st Camera
Review: I've had the DX3600 for a couple of weeks already and am glad to say it has been a good investment. As a graphic artist, I was looking for a camera that could take quality photos that I could work with immediately. I was waiting for the price to drop and when it did. I went for it. Bundled with the Docking Station and 32MB Flash Card, the camera was set to go, right out of the box.

The video quality is ok, not great, but acceptable considering everything else this camera does. Indoor lighting is tough without using the flash and some pictures have turned out blurry. For my purposes - quick imagemaking and some video clips for the web - this camera ROCKS!

Summary: Great camera
Review: I've had this camera for over a year now, and still love it. The docking station makes it easy to transfer pictures with the push of a button, and it also works as a battery charger. The camera itself takes great pics in any light setting, as the flash is dependable. To save power, I now turn the LCD screen off, until I'm ready to review the pictures I've just taken.

I think where the photos are processed makes a huge difference in photo outcome. I decided to upload three of the same photos to the three leading photo processing companies available on the web: Ofoto, Snapfish, and Walmart. Ofoto won, hands down, but I recommend you try it for yourself. The difference is amazing, and you can't tell if it was originally a 35mm or digital print.

Summary: Who needs film, who needs kodak, and instant gratification
Review: Overall this is a great camera for the digital age. It's simple point and shoot operation works great. We have a new baby and needless to say we have taken an ton of photos. The beauty is that you can shoot a bunch of photos in a row and pick the one or two you want and chuck the rest (at no additional cost). We print the photos on HP 4x6 premium photo paper on our HP 952C printer. They are awesome pictures! The quality is as good as the best pictures from high quality film processing.

Highlights:
1) Very easy to use
2) Shoot a bunch of pix. Pick the best ones. Crop them in the photo software to get the perfect shot. It is easy to look like a pro!
3) Rechargeable batteries (a necessity for digital cameras).
4) The cradle is very easy and it recharges the batteries at the same time.
5) JPEG files for email and ....

Criticisms:
1) Not a vacation camera. No affordable way to take lots of shots without downloading the shots to your computer.
2) The viewfinder is clunkly and difficult to frame shots (cut of a lot of tops of heads).

We are very happy with the camera. It has been a wonderful tool for taking pix of the new bambina to print them for us and email them to the family.

Summary: Digital Dandy
Review: Price to feature ratio great. Not too pretty, but easy to read instructions, easy to use, and takes great pictures. If a picture is not to your liking you can take it again or spruce it up with the easy to use software. You get the flash when you want it and the zoom features are more than adequate. It bounces off the kitchen floor as well as any of the more expensive cameras and keeps on clicking. Very satisfied with this unit, and with an extra $15 rechargeable battery pack it is all my wife and I need for a first point-and-shoot digital camera!

Summary: Advertised Package
Review: The Camera is supposed to come with a Camera Dock and bonus CF card, this is a big part of why I chose this camera. I did not get these. I am very disappointed. I am still trying to contact Amazon.com to get this resolved.

Summary: Think twice!
Review: The good news: My DX3600 camera worked beautifully for a few months. The bad news: Then it developed what Kodak calls "power problems." The rechargeable batteries do not hold a charge. The disposable batteries do not operate the camera consistently. The camera turns itself off immediately after turning on (and sometimes won't turn on at all). I've talked with many other users who have this problem, and I believe it is a defect of this model. Kodak charges very high fees (over $100) for even minor repairs when the warranty has expired, so I cannot afford to get the camera fixed. I am going to stomp on my DX3600 (just for petty satisfaction) and toss it into the trash, then buy a new digital camera from a different manufacturer. I have no confidence that this problem would not recur with other models from the same maker, so I'm going to look farther afield. I wish someone had told me about this defect before I bought my DX3600 two years ago--I've missed many great shots due to the "power problem." Please do yourself a favor and think twice (better yet, three times) before you purchase this model!
