Rating: Summary: Not worth the money- better to get a kadak dc215 or fuji Review: One good thing about this camera ( and the only good thing!) is that it is easy to operate. The software is easy also, but inferior to photodeluxe, which is offered with many other cameras. One of the major bad points of this camera are that the printed picture quality is bad. A friend has a kodak dc215 and I printed a picture taken with my camera next to one taken with his and the kodak was much better. The other negative thing about this camera is that it takes the picture about 3 seconds after pressing the button. I would expect some delay, but this camera is ridiculous! So my advice: get a kodak dc215 or fujifilm finepix 1400. I'm returning my polaroid as I write this.
Rating: Summary: I would buy a better camera than this one Review: Last summer I purchased the Polaroid 1100 digital camera. At first, the camera worked great but I had problems with the software in transfering the images to my computer. I called Polaroid Tech Support and spoke to two diferent fairly rude support people. Basically they told me my one year old computer was the problem because I do not have enough computer resources to run thier program. Then a minor problem developed with the camera itself and I sent it back for a replacement, which I received last week. The replacement also has a problem and I'm going to send it back as well. The software issue is still unresolved and I cannot download my images to either of my computers. My nephew purchased one of these about the same time and he has had to send his back three times. They finally upgraded his camera at no charge. This camera was a nice idea with an affordable price, but my experience tells me it is a cheap product with poor support from Polaroid; and there seems to be no sign of resolving the poor software problems so I can actually use my camera. I give it a '0'.
Rating: Summary: good picts. bad software Review: right out of the box the camera was simple and easy to use. the software is a different story.,it would not recognize camera on either serial or usb connection, polaroid was no help.I now have camera produced by kodak that works better than than the pdc1100.
Rating: Summary: Good products, very bad service. Review: I have a Polaroid PDC-640 and for good reason I planing change to a new camara. Polaroid have good camaras depend on the what you will use it and how much quality and/or needs you look on photos. But I read a review here that I agree. Polaroid DO NOT give support for costumers who buy they camaras. Why? simple.. when I buy my PDC-640 work fine and I like it, but when the digital LCD screen begin to have problems, I take it to the service department directly and they say "Sorry, we dont repair or give service for any of our digital device" uhm... that is bad. and I have friends that bring the digital camaras too and photo printers for service and they get the same answere. What this mean? Polaroid made good digital equipment like the photo printers and digital camaras, but in the moment you need repair or service. careful, you can get a terrible nightmare on that.
Rating: Summary: no more film developing Review: this camera is really nice. not all that heavy and very eazy to use. it is so kool 2 show pple the pic you just took. it eats batteries like crazy though. the energizer titanium works the best and lasts up to 4 uses of the camera. the software is eazy and friendly to use and the price is very nice.
Rating: Summary: Service a Nightmare Review: When I bought this camera in July the majority of reviews wereexcellent. Just wish I had seen a few of the more recent ones before Iwasted (my money)! My camera worked great for a few weeks...then every time I tried to download my pictures it rebooted my computer. I called Amazon and was told I would have to deal with Polaroid. Good luck! I have sent 3-4 e-mails to service dept. None of the suggestions worked. Then I called the service dept. After receiving such helpful suggestions as "take it to a computer store and have them try it on one of their computers" to telling my husband to take it to work and try it on his computer, we finally reached someone who told me to send it to the service dept. in Georgia. I was given a case number, sent it as told, and I have not seen it since. Numerous phone calls later have resulted in claiming it never got there (according to P.O. tracking, it did!) to claiming the batteries were old and had leaked and I would have to pay to get it back. Since I had changed the batteries at least 5 times in it since July and sent it with new ones in, I know that is not true. Now I have called a "Level 2" employee of Polaroid who says it sounds like I am getting "a little bit of a run-around!" I have been waiting over a week for him to get back to me. Meanwhile, four months after starting this fiasco, I have no camera, no refund, and no good feelings towards Polaroid at the moment.
Rating: Summary: Windows Me Warning Review: After reading the review already posted about customer service saying the product isn't compatible with windows Me, I decided to check it out before buying. I called Polaroids service number, (no, they don't have an email address), and talked to a young lady. I told her I was considering a PDC 1100 but had read that it was not compatible with Me. Before she responded I said I couldn't believe that was true since every computer for sale this christmas is shipping with Me. (consumer non-mac that is) She then told me something interesting, that this camera IS compatible with windows Me, but that they don't offer tech support for it. Huh......... Sounds fishy to me. She also said they don't offer tech support for windows Me on ANY of their cameras. Olympus, here I come.
Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT SERVICE Review: RAN INTO SOME ELECTICAL PROBLEMS WITH THE CAMERA AND WAS ASTOUNDED IN HOW PROMPTLY THE MATTER WAS TAKEN CARE OF. I FIND THE CAMERA EASY TO USE AND I AM MORE THAN SATISFIED WITH THE QUALITY OF THE PICTURES. WISH THE BATTERIES LASTED A LITTLE LONGER, BUT THATS A PROBLEM WITH ALL DIGITAL CAMERAS. FEEL I MORE THAN GOT MY MONIES WORTH.
Rating: Summary: Fun and Easy to Use Review: The Polaroid PDC 1100 is my first digital camera. I am a "point and shoot" autofocus kind of person, recently using an APS camera, and before that a 35 mm. Within a couple of hours of taking the PDC 1100 out of the box I was e-mailing pictures to family. Clarity is great, works well with a 16 MB compact flash card (60+ pictures on VGA setting). The all inclusive kit has all the cables and software you'll need, plus an AC adapter and high quality alkaline batteries. Skip getting a flash card reader unless you're really impatient - the camera works fast enough, about 30 seconds to download a photo. The TV display option with this camera is a hoot, and brings the era of vacation slide-shows for friends and families into the 21st century....
Rating: Summary: Stop! Customer Service Stinks, Not Win ME compatible Review: This is my second digital camera. I use them in construction estimating and take some fun shots with my family to email around occasionally. My recent experiance was so disheartening I packed up the camera and mailed it back to amazon. I purchased the camera about three months ago from amazon. I have used it and been pleased with the results. The USB feature is unbeatable, the photoeditor is awesome, the shots were good, camera battery life is fair, the software is cumbersome and not up to par with adobe or the like. In the meantime, I ordered a new laptop because my older one couldn't handle the strain of all the applications to run a business. New laptops are WinME or Win 2000. My camera would not work. After three weeks of utter frustration I finally contacted the lap top manufacturer and then at their recomendation, Poloroid. Poloroid's tech service rep sounded like a high school student. She offered no information about a driver for Win Me. All she said was literally, "I dunno...hmmm...I'm not sure" When I politely pressed her for something more concrete she snipped and put me on hold to check with her manager. When she returned she tersly said, "The camera doesn't work with Windows Me." My obvious question..."Is Poloroid developing a driver?" she replied "I don't know what Poloroid is doing." I asked, "What can Poloroid do for me so that I can use my NEW camera?" She replied, "I dunno, you will have to buy a new one that works with your computer or change computers" And that is how a perfectly good product becomes a piece of junk. PS. I wanted to send an email to customer service to document my disbelief.....Poloroid does not list an email address on their own website....not very reassuring. But they do list their current share value. My advice is to sell at any price.
