Rating: Summary: Nice Pics, Poor power consumption Review: I figured I'd give the camera a try... now I just finished processing my return. This camera can be defined in one word - HORRIBLE! I bought it because I figured it would work for me with as little as I take pictures and it was a good price. You pay for what you get, and this camera is sheer proof of that. Not all cameras run out of batteries like this one. I took BRAND NEW batteries out of the package to use, and the camera would show that the batteries were low. In the week I owned this, I went through about 10 sets of batteries. That's excessive. Save the money you'd spend on batteries for this one and buy a nice camera. There are much nicer ones for around $200 you could buy. The picture quality is ok at best, not great. And since the batteries run out every 3 minutes (even when the camera is turned off!) it's hard to get the juice to run a movie clip. This one is on clearance for a reason. Do some research before you commit to this one because it's cheap, it's really not worth it!

Rating: Summary: Problem loading software? Review: I had the same problem. There was no continue option. Just press the enter key and it will load fine. The camera takes good pictures. I've only viewed them online, but they come out looking really nice. I've used it on the lowest setting to get the most pictures. In bright sunshine you can't see anything on the LCD screen, but just use the view finder like a reqular camera and your pictures will come out fine. It doesn't take very good indoor flash pictures at night with room lights on. Again gotta use the view finder not the LCD screen. My maunal is also online which is a pain since my printer is not working and I have to run repeatly to the computer to see how to use the camera, until I get familiar with it. All in all, for the price a 3.3 mp camera it's a good buy.
Rating: Summary: Software is impossible to load! Review: I have no idea how well this camera does or does not work because the software will not load on my computer!! I contacted the SiPix customer service several times and they keep routing me a different department, phone numer, etc... I have had this camera for several months and STILL cannot use it... and now it is too late to return it.... check, check, check, before you buy, or better yet, buy a different camera and save yourself some grief.
Rating: Summary: Excellent 3.3 Megapixel Camera Review: I just got this camera for my graduation back in May, and let me tell you something -- It's a beauty. Seeing is believing. Yes -- it eats batteries, but guess what? Almost all Digital Cameras do (esp. the ones that have as much processing power as this one does). Buy rechargeable batteries!!! Also -- another neat thing about this camera - you can attach it to a tripod. I had an 2.1 Megapixel HP camera before this one and you could NOT attach my older camera to a tripod. We recently took a chip full of pictures down to our local Walgreens and had prints made -- They were clearer, sharper & more colorful than our 35mm film camera.
Rating: Summary: battery eater Review: I liked mostly everything about this camera except the fact that it ate through batteries like crazy! I changed the batteries 3 times during a 2 day trip. I wasn't even using the camera that much or leaving it on for very long periods of time (it automatically shuts off after a few minutes of not being used anyway). I also found that I couldn't see the LCD screen at all outdoors when it was sunny. I was also a little irritated that I had to print the manual out myself. I'm returning it in hopes of finding a camera that won't go through batteries so fast. But, I have to admit, I found the camera itself and the software it comes with very easy to use.
Rating: Summary: DOA! What else can I say? Review: I made the stupid mistake of ordering this camera before checking the reviews. Although most reviews were about the batteries and power adapter problems, I was scared once I saw so many negative ones! I wanted to cancel but it was too late. The order had already been shipped. Well, I thought I would make the best of it until I received it and tried to turn it on. I called SiPix technical support. They answered the phone quickly and were very helpful but the camera was simply Dead On Arrival! I tried multiple sets & types of batteries as tech. support suggested but no success. The camera simply would not power on! I'm so glad though. I sent it back to Amazon and got an Olympus D-380 and am thoroughly pleased with it! All's well that ends well. :-)
Rating: Summary: Excellent Value....Just plan ahead! Review: I purchased this camera for my husband for father's day. I'd read the warnings about the battery consumption, but decided to try it anyway since most digital cameras have this problem in varying degrees. I'm glad I did. Yes, it does go through batteries like water, but the picture quality is incredible. We bought 8 quality rechargable batteries and the charger. Instead of packing loads of 35mm film, we pack batteries. We turn off the LCD when we are taking lots of pictures and only use it to view. This is a fun, useful, quality camera for the money. A great first digital camera!
Rating: Summary: Excellent one Review: I purchased this product last month, and no regrets. It's performance is quiet good. All the software supplied along with the product is also performing well. I could download all photos within no time. As all said, it is power hungry. Keep spare batteries. One good facility is that, you can switch off the LCD to save battery. One negative point is that, it cannot be used as a webcam. It'ld be wonderful if such a facility is available. Overall, I am very much satisfied with this camer. Cheers!!!
Rating: Summary: Good economy camera Review: I read the reviews about the battery life so I bought some 2200mAh NiMH batteries and used one pair to take 100 pictures (half with flash), previewed the pictures, downloaded and erased the 128MB card I had and still has half battery power. Power crisis solved. By the way, all digital camera should use rechargeables. Buy more batteries than you need, you can use the rest for other purposes. Nice clear camera. Good bargain for a 3.3MP. No regrets.
