Summary: Awesome
Review: After carefully studying the features, using them inside thestore, and viewing the pictures on one of their display PCs I washappiest with the high resolution photos that the FD-88 produced as well as it's special effect's capability. I also appreciated the lack of legacy adapters and wires. Its use of standard 3.5 floppies is great. You'll be hard pressed to find a computer without a floppy disk now or in the future.

I worked up the courage to buy it, I've been using it for several months now, and I have NO regrets. A couple friends have some of the newer Kodak, AGFA, and Olympus models and they're all disappointed with theirs compared to the FD-88. The disk writes pretty fast and you can get usually 10 or 12 highest quality photos per disk. Movie resolution is good for PC and Web use, but, its 15 sec or 60 sec recording limit can be a little limiting. END

Summary: The MVC-FD88 is worth the extra money
Review: Between my business and my family I am a big user of cameras, video equipment and computers. My first digital camera had great resolution but the labor-intensive downloading and the massive battery use meant the camera didn't see much action. So when I set out to buy a new digital camera I knew what I wanted, a Mavica. After careful evaluations of the Mavica series I decided to spend the extra money for the FD88. With its great resolution, power usage, big zoom, ease of downloading, mpeg abilities, camera features, etc. the FD88 has become the work horse of my equipment. The disk storage would be comparable to a 12 or 24 shot roll of film depending on your resolution setting.

Summary: Instant gratification for non-tech photographers
Review: Due to rising film/developing costs for our weekly publication, my employer decided to get a digital camera to cut out those costs and the time needed to scan the pictures. Since he is not technically oriented, and we are using a group of seasoned Macintosh 61xx computers, this came out as the best choice by far. No cables to hook up, no expensive data cards to switch in or out. True, the floppy media can only hold 8 to 17 images depending on the resolution, but at under 50 cents a disk which can be dropped off at each design station, it is not a problem. So far, it has worked quite well, even surpassing the scanned photos in terms of quality. I strongly recommend this for anyone who is putting out a small publication or newsletter if you are looking for a way to cut costs.

Summary: An absolute MUST buy!
Review: I had been in the market for a digital camera and had been reviewing various Web sites to read up on the features of the many brands available. After visiting Amazon.com, I decided to buy this camera because of the many favorable reviews it received here (THANK YOU! ). I am SO happy with this purchase! I have had it for a week and have been able to take awesome pictures and even video. The features on this camera are abundant and the resolution is great. I have used many digital cameras in the $300-$400 range and they just don't cut it. There is so much to love about this camera including ease of use (I haven't even had to read the user's manual yet, which says a lot!), ease of transferring photos to your computer (the AWESOME 3.5" floppies) and the excellent resolution. This camera isn't the top of the line, but if you need a camera for personal use, you will not be disappointed. I am very happy with this purchase and strongly recommend this camera! (By the way, the only two "cons" I had read here about owning this camera haven't happened to me: I have NO red-eye problems with my photos and if you record the video on the "fine" setting, it's actually quite an amazingly clear picture.) If you haven't made up your mind yet, seriously consider this camera!

Review: I had just bought the MVC-FD88 and boy do i like it one plus that i love about this camera is that it stores pictures on floopy disk rather than memory stick, i know you would like this when you get it the resolution is great and the mpeg fuction is pretty neat. I took this camera to work and everyone wants to borrow it. a plus feature is that if I take a picture and I want to give that same picture to a friend I just use disk copy function and Bam! there it is as far as bulky I don't think it is that bad, to me it's just like holding a camcorder. if your looking for good resolution convience and easy viewing and great fun Buy it i have searched the web and have done my home work and I like the fd91 but it didn't have av hook ups

Summary: The Mack Daddy Bomb Diggity Digital Camera of All Time
Review: I have one of these little beauties, and I also have an e-business that deals exclusively with auctions. This has cut my digital processing time from 3 hours to process 30-40 images with a scanner and photo shop, to about 30 minutes TOTAL. There is a feature with this camera that automatically allows you to store images in E-Mail format (apprx. 44k) which is PERFECT for posting on Amazon for example, which has a 100k limit. This is why you can zip along so fast, because the images on the disk are READY to be posted as soon as you take them! No Processing, No annoying little cables, just pop the disk and GO! So if you are a potential e-baron or e-baroness, this is for you! Another cute feature is this - if you are at a trade show, or on a buying mission, you can upload the images from this camera into a laptop, or other device, on the spot, and show potential buyer's, or your fantastic aquisitions manager (like I have) the stuff in JPEG or, MPEG. This camera also makes these absolutley hassle free 60 second movies that are just perfect for showing someone all the details of a major purchase, like a WHOLE table full of goodies, or a boat. My staff would bark at me if I did not take this incredible tool with me on buying missions, as I would them, because it allows everyone to stay connected, and PARTICIPATE real time in major decisions. AND let's talk personal shopper, REAL TIME. With a wireless connection, a Lap top, and this tool, you can sell from any floor across the world.

Review: I just purchased my first digital camera. At first I was a little hesitant because I had no knowledge about a digital camera. This camera is so easy to use. I really like the fact there is nothing to download into the computer. Purchase alot of floppy disks because you are going to have FUN with this camera.
