Summary: Seen better
Review: This camera has not satissfied me, even as a toy. It works only under sunlight, else it blurs the image, and it requires too much time to take a pic under room light. Also, the sides of the pictures look round. It's still very small, but there are others in the market better, with the same price.

Summary: Not that great!
Review: It's not that great.

1) Indoor pictures [is not good] becuz of no flash. Outdoor is alot better ...P>2) Majority of pictures are fuzzy!

Okay, let's get straight to the real deal! The real reason why anybody would want to buy this camera is for it's conviences or to take secret shots!

1) You cannot take secret shots becuz it makes a beep after u press the key. It takes 2 seconds after pressing the key before a shot is made so you have to hold on to the camera very still. Even if you do take a successful secret shot, the ... thing will shut off within a minute without activity and make 2 beeps. If you're starting to lose battery power, the 2 beeps last even longer.

2) Even if there were no beeps, the picture [is not good]! Nearly all of the pictures are fuzzy. Indoor pictures are horrible and outdoor pictures are less horrible, but they're still horible.

3) for it's conviences, it is very convient. You can take shots anywhere. You can put it in your pocket and not a problem to carry around. ...P>Conclusion:

1) It's a cheap camera, so what you expect. It's a good experience which taught me that I would not spend any less than 300 or 400 bucks on a digi cam. It's cheap so why not? You're cheap for thinking it's a waste of money. It's a good deal for it's price, just like how it would be a good deal to buy a gun for 25 cents and will never shoot!

2) If you dream to be some 007 secret agent guy with this cam, then forget it. This would only degrade your dream of becoming one!

3) What I think this cam is good for is if u sell stuff on ebay or other auctions. Take a quick photo and bam, upload the pic.

Summary: A Gee-Whiz Toy
Review: The SiPix StyleCam is a toy. It's quite a fun toy and rates highly on the Gee-Whiz scale, but it is off limited practical utility.

Of specific note is the camera's limited tolerance for low levels of light. I had originally intended to take snapshots of friends at parties, but the camera does not generally work indoors. That being said, I have no regrets about this purchase. The camera is really fun and worth every penny for its "Hey-that's-cool" value.

Summary: It is what it is
Review: ... I have found mine of respectable quality in general lighting conditions. The contrast ratio is not great which can lead to white skies and or whitish patches on things in partial sun. But in generally even lighting does pretty well.
For the price it is great for exactly what I wanted it for. Here in Key West the unexpected occurs often and have always found myself wishing I had a camera with me. This one fits the bill with its small size that fits easily in any pocket (even a watch pocket it fits perfect)one a key chain... and always available, and inexpensive enough to not worry about what happens to it.
I found it to be reasonably light sensitive, but in low light you must be steady and subject still. It is more sensitive than some webcams (that are only that) I have seen.
The software it comes with is pretty good for basics. I like the little stand clip it comes with too... great for laptop use.

I wish it allowed you to choose compression ratio though as it is a bit heavy, and continuous gradients tend to get stair stepped. I could do with only 50 shots and lighter compression.
I also wish it didn't use volatile memory (dependent on battery power)

On the like side... it uses USB bus power when connected to a PC so that you don't waste battery power while downloading like many cameras.

Summary: Pretty cool, but Macintosh users beware
Review: Can't beat the price and the package is mighty tiny. Warnings about the image quality are correct, but for [$$] I think the image quality is just fine. What zapped me, however, is the lack of Macintosh support. The device is USB and TWAIN, so it can't be very hard to support the Mac. It works on my PC but not on my Mac. There goes my plan to give one to my kid to use on his Mac.

Summary: Birthday present for nine year old grandsons
Review: I have not received the cameras yet. But judging by our
grandchildren's parents choice these must be excellent. My
daughter works in market analysis and I'm sure she would pick
only the best and most educational camera for their twin sons ninth Birthday gift from us.

Summary: unacceptable junk
Review: In a word or two - total piece of technically incompetent SoCal junk. Useless. Not worth even 5 bucks. Here is the scoop:

Smallish case executed in decent plastic. Apple style or Apple/HP quality it is not but better than your average K/W/Mart-ish standards. USB port cover will not stay put after you connected it to your computer once or twice. Difficult to conceal - beeps maniacally when taking pictures and quite visible thanks to some chrome accents. Will not run more than a minute or two on rechargeables (1.2V). Alkaline disposables are the must and even they don't last long. Tends to hang up quite often - when it does it will not respond to anything. You solve it by taking the battery out for a second or two. All your pictures are then gone. Simple (almost primitive) but logical button operation. Relatively fast shutter release speed - around a second or so. Tons of space for your pictures (100 in a "better" mode, 300 otherwise) but you will most likely be throwing out 99% of them anyway. Very el cheapo fixed plastic optics. Extremely low light sensitivity. Unusable under most lighting condition except possibly in bright sun and with static subjects. Otherwise unacceptable image quality. Wasn't able to get one pic w/o huge amount of motion induced smearing. You honestly need a tripod to take a decent picture with this thing. Forget the heavily advertised streaming snapshot mode which is supposed to emulate 3fps video. No way to avoid blurring unless you happen to be filming a comatose valley girl, koala or something equally inanimate. No way you could take a sequence of pictures while walking - however slowly. No way taking a picture from a moving car. Software - only Wintel version is available - and I'm truly sorry for these folks. Garishly saccharine eye-candish technically incompetent unreliable junk. Enough said. You need to see it to believe it.

Summary: What a blast!!!
Review: Absolutely fun little camera. Spent the first day after getting it (on an impulse buy) making little AVI's of the new kitten in my house. The included software makes this a snap. No, the quality isn't fantastic at those resolutions, but making mini videos with a package this size for this price is going to be tough to beat. Keep the battery fresh and you're good to take it just about anywhere. Great fun little product...and probably going to be Christmas gifts for everyone this year. :)

Summary: Only for those who want more for less!
Review: If you're looking for a cheap digital camera that takes pictures with sufficient quality to email or post on websites, this camera is exactly what you're looking for. I really was surprised by the crisp pictures this little camera can produce. If you have a steady hand and adequate lighting, this camera will perform.

Other benefits of this camera are its small size and ability to take a hundred pictures before needing to download. This camera is so small, I've taken it in my camelback for those breathtaking views I see while mountainbiking and wished I had a camera. It is also cheap enough that I don't worry about babying it. ... No, this camera doesn't have an LCD display to show your photos instantly. But with memory for a hundred pictures, just keep cliking away and you'll get lucky with one picture. No, this camera doesn't have a flash but my experice with digital cameras has been that the flash is too harsh anyway - just light up your subject with a lamp and you'll be able to take a good picture.

My only complaint is that loading the software didn't go smoothly for me. Fortunately, Sipix's website offers trouble shooting tools that solved my issues - after a couple hours of frustration.

Lastly, if you're thinking that you can take some candid pictures of your friends while hiding this camera in the palm of your hand, it beeps with each picture you take. I tried it and got busted :)
