Rating: Summary: You get what you pay for Review: ...P>I bought this last year and initially it worked great. It does what it says and if you're taking low-end pictures for things like online auctions (which is the exact/only reason I bought it) you get a great value for your money. However, there are 2 things you should know about. First, this company is no longer in business. If you purchase this with a rebate voucher, then forget about ever getting the rebate. The company's website is still up but you won't receive a response if you e-mail them. If you try calling them you'll get an 'out of service' message. I verified their present state of affairs (out of business) by doing some other research on the internet. Although this company once had great service and support, it is now a passive system--what you see on the internet is all there is. HOWEVER, their websites are still up, and downloads are still available. Second, this camera was not designed to work with Windows XP. I had Windows 98 when I bought it and had 0 problems with this OS. However, once I upgraded to Windows XP it wouldn't work. Although I downloaded the patches/drivers from the website, I still couldn't get it to work...I finally found a website where someone gave me instructions on how to find the .sys file and get it working. The program now loads but it crashes 75% of the time...very frustrating....
Rating: Summary: perfect for e-mail, kids Review: Santa brought the camera for christmas and it's been alot of fun. I own a nice digital camera, and often bring my sons Jam Cam for quick sendable images. they e-mail quickly and, take only a little space on my computers memeory. they print just fine, although not high tech images, and the software works well and takes very little memory on my comp. It also stood up to a two yr. olds bashing, though I wouldn't recomend that!
Rating: Summary: This camara stinks Review: I think this camara stinks. Yes, it is cheap. That is all that can be said. It is a great camara if you don't actually want to recognize what you are taking a picture of.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Camera for children! Review: I paid $[money] for this camera and it was worth every penny. Takes pretty good pictures in well lit areas. My only beef would be about the batteries. I know I've heard just about all digital cameras eat battries quick but with this camera it takes 9volt witch is more expensive to keep replacing.(We only got 16 pics per battery...
Rating: Summary: Great first digital camera Review: I really like the Jam Cam I bought for a few different reasons. It's easy to use. Simply point and shoot. Secondly, it was affordable, a very good product to get your feet wet in digital. Thirdly, it's small enough to carry everywhere, so you can take quick snapshots you would otherwise miss with a more complicated camera. It's not perfect, by any means. With no viewfinder, you don't know what you photographed until you download the data into your computer. The addition of a memory card is almost a must, as the camera can only hold 8 shots without it. Lastly, there are no frame marks in the eyeport, so after a few tries, you have to adjust the camera angle to make sure you're not cutting people's heads off, or missing a third of a good shot. With a little practice and the addition of a memory card, it's a great little digital camera for the cost.
Rating: Summary: A Disposable Digital Camera Review: What can I say? By the time you develop a disposable camera and get the film printed, it costs nearly as much as a JamCam. I bought my JamCam to keep in my desk at work and snag the occasional sunset or broken fire hydrant with. It's great for cheap snapshots. It comes with software that works acceptably. The USB interface is not the fastest I've encountered, but it eventually transfers photos. I haven't tried a memory card with it yet, but might in the future. I'm glad I got mine. It was worth every penny of what I paid, and I don't have to worry about wasted packaging or toxic chemicals going into the environment. I just transfer my photos to my computer and email them to friends....
Rating: Summary: Jam Cam 3.0 Review: I had bought a jam cam a couple of months ago because I had seen it for...really cheap and thats like a dream that I woke up from and really had what I had Dreamed about a digital camara that takes pictures as clear as my dads...digital camara the only diffreence is that mine or the Jam Cam dose not show the picture on the back which in some cases is good because no one can see your pictures but some times you dont get enough light in the picture and when you get home you see almost all black but you can buy extra memory for this cool looking camara and than you can hold like 99 or more if you have a laptop this is all you need the only bad thing about is that IT IS HARD TO GET IT TO WORK WITH WIN XP... so if you have win xp be carefull if I can get it to work you can...
Rating: Summary: Excellent Camera for the price Review: We've had our JamCam 3.0 for about six months now. It's been great. Takes clear, reliable pictures. Using the flash helps a lot on indoor shots, but is not always necessary. The USB interface makes for fast downloads to the computer. We've used it to send instant pictures of the kids to relatives. Recently I added a 32Meg Multimedia Card, which boosted the image capacity from 8 to 130 in "hi-res" mode and to well over 400 pictures in low-res mode. It would be nice to have an LCD viewscreen or a lens-cover, but that would increase the price. This is a good, simple, inexpensive camera.
Rating: Summary: JamCam SCAM!!!!!!!!! Review: Initially, my experience with this camera was acceptable for the price minus the supposed rebate (a story in itself). I didn't use it extensively early on so I didn't expose (no pun intended) it to its insufficiencies. Needless to say, it has been down hill ever since. First, I noticed that the camera doesn't consistently take clear pix. I thought it was a lighting issue but it works just as poorly in the light. As suggested by other reviews, it's best to manually control the flash. Secondly, the rebate is bogus. My feeling is that [the seller] should assume some of the responsibility since they advertise this information on THEIR website. Unfortunately, they just pass the buck (sort of speak) and tell you to contact the manufacturer. A manufacturer who was in business when I sent in my rebate app. (I sent it certified) but no where to be found now. In conclusion, if you're buying this digicam based on the rebate, DON'T! If you're buying this digicam because you want something that will consistently take pix, DON'T. Lastly, if you're buying this camera because it seems like a good buy for the money, IT'S NOT. There are other digicams out there that are inexpensive, work very, very well, and you can actually contact the manufacturer if you run into a problem. The software for this digicam doesn't work with Windows 2000 or XP. I had to install it on my son's computer. WHAT A WASTE!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Camera not bad. NO REBATE Review: A lot of people whine about the camera quality. What did they expect for $...? As a toy for an 8 year old it is great. BEWARE THOUGH - THE REBATE IS NOT HONORED. Remember folks... you get what you pay for...
