Summary: Garbage
Review: Do not buy this camera. The software is terrible and the drivers don't install correctly in Windows 2000. After I finally got the thing installed, I took some pictures. It takes a long time to take one picture and you have to hold the camera still while you do it. Downloading the pictures from the camera to the PC via USB is very slow as well. The most disappointing thing about this camera is the picture quality. Quite honestly, the other problems were nothing because this camera is so inexpensive... but the picture quality is terrible. Even in the highest resolution it looks awful. Each pixel looks about 8 times bigger than it should be in the highest resolution. Worst digital camera ever.

Summary: Pretty good for the price...
Review: Just received my JamCam a couple of days ago. My first attempt with a digital camera. I'm not sure why some of the reviewers here had so much trouble loading and using the camera with their computer systems, but I had no trouble at all. Software loaded onto the computer fine, and so far I haven't had any trouble downloading pictures from the camera to my computer (Windows ME) Haven't tried any fancy adjusting of pictures yet with the included Adobe software but for the basics of taking pictures and viewing them on the computer, it's been working fine. As has been mentioned, resolution is minimally acceptable but what do you want for ....? I'm perfectly satisfied and am looking forward to experimenting with it.

Summary: I was dubious but...
Review: I shopped around for ages looking for the cheapest digital camera I could find (I just wanted one to throw in the glove box or whatever in case I want to snap something). The JamCam 3.0 came up pretty good in most review I read, bad in others. The specs read pretty good from a technical perspective but like any camera it's hard to tell without actually using it. Anyway I settled on a JamCam and to cut a long story short, it's not bad. It's probably better than any other camera in the price range (not that there are many) but don't expect great quality - this camera is acceptible for quick snaps to send by email or to put on websites etc. If you buy it with high expectations you'll be disappointed, otherwise it's worth a go! Also you'll definately want to get a MMC to put in it - 8 pictures ain't much.

Summary: Great camera at a great price
Review: I got this camera for christmas from my husband. I really enjoy it. I get good quality pictures to send the grandparents. The software was very easy to install and the customer service is wonderful. my first camera died on me and the replacement was sent so quickly. The tech was VERY helpful. I have been using the same battery in the camera since I received it and still have plenty of juice left. The only thing I didn't like about it is the basic camera only holds 8 hi res pictures, but I was in the window for the free memory card.

Summary: Need to offer smartmedia rebate longer
Review: I am very impressed with the camera features. Would like to have the film rebate offered for a longer period of time. Can not find it in the stores offering the camera.

Summary: Customer support
Review: I bought this camera, ... ...

When I installed the software and tried to download a few pics, it didn't work. I suspected a driver problem. Since there was a real-looking phone number in the manual, I called. The number was disconnected. OK, that figured. It was suggested that I try another area code. I did (612). A machine answered with a menu. Another tech support dead-end, right? I hit the number for support, and was connected to a real person on one ring. No wait at all. A few minutes later the problem was solved. Unreal!! I've come to expect long waits, no response to phone or e-mail requests or discourteous treatment. It doesn't matter if it's a $2000 computer or $20,000 car. But for a product that didn't even cost ...? Unheard of. I've never received this high level of support from any company, on any product, ever. Nuffsaid.

The camera works fine for my purposes. Easy to use, very good software, picture quality just fine for the resolution. Recommended.

Summary: Great Kids camera... and good Customer Service...
Review: We had originally received the Jam Cam Jr. as a Gift, and it's quality was low and seemed to be malfunctioning... so we wrote the company, and they quickly gave us a return authorization number.... we were pleasantly suprised this week when we received the 3.0 from them as the replacement...Citing stocking issues, they chose to "UPGRADE" us.. We have a 4 year old who is VERY enamoured with our regular digicam (olympus 490... highly recommend) .. it is easy enough for him to use, and gives us the freedom to use ours without interruption... I wouldn't use it for all my digital needs, but for kids it will be perfect... The ability to buy MMCs for it is a true plus and the flash is a great addition...

WE DEFINITELY RECOMMEND IT!!!

Summary: Amazingly good for the price
Review: Before the holidays, I shopped around for an "inexpensive" digital. I hated to spend big money on something that will be obsolete in a year or two. (I already have an entire shelf in my basement with computer equipment we no longer use) Amazon listed this as one of the 10 best cameras, so for [the price], what did I have to lose. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the image. (I am a comercial artist) Print it out on a good ink jet printer, on photo quality paper, and you get great results. Plus, I can use it on my Mac and my husbands PC. Installation on both platforms was super simple. You don't need any kind of real computer experience to be able to download from camera to computer. I plan to buy another for my in-laws. It's no Nikon, but I'd definatly recommend it to anyone wanting to get an easy to use digital.

Summary: The price may be good but thats about it
Review: Ok this camera ate up 3 brand new batteries in 1 and 1/2 months! The flash doesn't work most of the time when you want it to and the pictures are REALLY bad quality. The only good thing is it has two ways of hooking it up to your computer, serial port or USB.

Summary: A good, low-end digital camera!
Review: If your needs are for quick, web-based pictures. This camera will do the trick. It's handy to use and will give you decent shots for use on the web. Keep in mind a few things though... It needs plenty of light to give a good image. It eats batteries (I got about seven shots before having to replace the first one). The fact that it supplies both USB and Serial cables for connectivity is nice (something that many high-end cameras don't do).

Overall, this is a high-end toy - or - a low-end digital camera. Don't expect too much from it. I moved up to the HP PhotoSmart C315 almost immediately after purchase. But this is a decent camera for the price, and one of the few at this price range which has support for Macintosh.

Comes in a blue finished body as well.
