Summary: Simple & Capable
Review: I just bought this camera along with some accessories to replace what would have been an enormous cost in developing film for my week-old daughter. The camera itself is a very easy to use point and shoot camera that has a relatively easy menu system that people wihtout a "gadgets" background can come to appreciate. It also offers some options pertaining to flash, picuture and movie quality, and more that I haven't even gotten to yet. I would recommend with this camera that you also invest in the listed rechargeable batteries (standard AA's don't stand a chance for much use but most cameras are like this anyway), a larger memory card (I got a 128 mb (simpletech) that can hold 92 SUPERHIGH quality pics), a card reader which makes it easier to transfer high quality pics to and from the computer, through the memory card, for editing, and Adobe Photoshop Elements 1.0, a user-friendly editing software.

Overall, this package has led to me and my wife producing only high quality pictures of our family to be put on paper and not wishing for 5 or 6 good pictures out of a 24-exposure roll. This camera is a great jump into digital photography.

Summary: Batteries!!!
Review: I just got the Camera, Great Price, Great Camera, but the BATTERIES!!! They died when I was just setting the unit! Couldn't take a picture without buying a new pair of Alkalines, that also died after 10 Minutes! I just bought the A/C Adaptor and the Olympus B-50SU 4 AA Ni-MH Batteries and Charger! I hope that from now one, I will be able to use my camera without throwing Money away with Batteries!Olympus should not sell this Cameras with Alkaline Batteries, but with NI-MH STANDARD!

Review: I love this camera. It is easy to use, easy to download. Just use lithium batteries and you'll be all set. Great price for the camera. Even has a "movie" mode. My 14 year old daughter uses it and loves it!!! She emails pictures to friends all the time!!!

Review: i ordered the olympus d230 from amazon...when i opened the box, the camera had a blue blotch on the lcd display. although this has nothing to do with the cameras quality, let me go on, please.

i very quickly found out the difference between digital zoom and optical zoom (which the camera does not have-optical). OPTICAL IS BETTER. digital only enlarges the picture which really makes the quality poorer. the body of the camera is flimsy and feels as if it will break easily. the batteries included in the box you say, dont last 10 minutes!!!! the lag time between pictures is about 3 seconds which [stinks] (and i am a first time user who isnt that picky, honest). the memory card was ok, 16mb. the options were poorly constructed.
i returned the camera the very NEXT day. one GOOD thing is that the return procedure was VERY simple.
overall, this is a camera i would buy for my 13yr. old brother. not for an adult.

Summary: Great feature to size ratio
Review: I really love my Olympus Brio D-230. It is small enough to fit in my purse and does everything I would expect. I took it on a cruise and my pictures came out GREAT!

Summary: Your basic digital camera...
Review: I wanted to join the rest of the technological world and buy a digital camera. I needed to keep up with the times and send pictures of the wife & kids, dogs, new house, and roadtrips via e-mail to my family 2000 miles away. I own two Olympus 35mm cameras - so I stuck with a brand name I knew. Outstanding photo quality... up to size 8x10. It has a "Quickplay" video feature. The menu is fairly easy, so you won't spend to much wasted time trying to figure things out. I've read many reviews here complaining about the short battery life... newsflash people - ANY digital camera is going to do this. Invest in the rechargable batteries. The ONLY problem I have with this camera is the zoom. The digital zoom simply increases the picture size... as to an optical zoom bringing you closer to the action. Great camera, great price... and the great name of Olympus.

Review: I'm very happy with my purchase of this camera, the battery life stinks, but I will be getting rechargeable batteries so that shouldn't be an issue,it's user friendly, and I'm glad that you don't have to use the software that came with it (it locked up my entire computer..) the photo quality is good, and the movie mode is pretty cool.all around good camera.....

Summary: Can't get over how cool it is!
Review: I've had plenty of cameras but this one takes the cake. It doesn't have any moving parts so it it very light and fits into your pocket. I hardly had to read the instructions to use it and I am amazed at the picures it takes. Yes, it can really go through the batteries fast, but considering the it is entirely electronic, I expected that. I am not a pro photograhper, just a guy getting ready for the birth of a baby, and I can't wait to fill up disk after disk with pics!

Summary: Olympus Camedia Brio D-230
Review: If you are looking for a fantastic digital camera for a reasonable price, this is the camera for you. I know people with higher megapixel cameras, and the photographs I take with the 230 are just about as clear. I was really impressed by the macro mode. I get crystal clear close ups. Its features include a movie mode... something other 2 MP cameras don't really have. Alkaline batteries don't work well with any digital camera. Buy the rechargable batteries. They'll work just fine. The digital zoom also is just fine. If you want super wazoo features, save up and buy a [more expensive] camera. You get plenty of bang for your buck with this camera. Highly recommend.
