Summary: my great first DC
Review: ...This camera is small and light. Just use 2 AA batteries.
The image quality is very good in best quality selection ("***").
And there is a cover to protect the len. Color is good(maybe this is not important, you can use photoshop to adjust your pictures). I like it. The batteries life is not bad. No other useless function such as movie mode. Great 2M Digital camera with a low price. Even I can choose chinese menu language.

Summary: What's with the Racism?
Review: Quote:

'VERY cheap looking and feeling. Every time I flip a switch I'm afraid I'm going to break something. Typical "Made in China" quality.'
-A customer from USA, June 28

I don't think that these reviews are meant for discriminatory comments such as that. I consider that reviewer a racist bigot and hope that his review doesn't influence your purchase.

I received this camera for Christmas last year and have been very satisfied with it. It satisfactorily fills the needs of most casual users. The camera is very well made considering it isn't a high end model. The picture quality is excellent.

The only problem is the battery life. I can't seem to take very many pictures before the battery indicator turns on. There is a very simple solution to this, however. You only need to purchase some rechargeable NiMH batteries. Overall, it's a great purchase.

Summary: a completely useless camera
Review: this camera's lack of any battery life at all makes this camera absolutely useless. with the rechargable batteries that it comes with, as soon as you insert them fully charged, it indicates half battery life and the camera lasts no more than maybe 4 pictures. i've replaced the batteries with new kodak rechargable ones, but the same thing happens. what's the point of a camera if it is impossible to hold enough energy to use through a single session?

i see that many other consumers are complaining about this as well (even the consumers giving the camera four stars!)

absolutely DO NOT BUY this camera because you'll be finding yourself bringing bulk packs of batteries to your next family gathering.

Summary: Buena Camara

Summary: It's OK, but don't hold your breath.
Review: Gets good pictures but make sure it's sunny outside, otherwise don't count on a good picture. Also, even when holding still, the picture can still come out blurry. Eats batteries. 64MB cards go a long way on this thing though, you can hold 100+ pics! Easy to use and convenient!

Don't use for sporting events, the zoom is terrible and anybody who is running is blurred out.

Summary: Pretty good cheap camera
Review: I have a love/hate relationship with my CX4200, but overall I rate this as a good little camera. I must admit there are some annoying features, the 16mb internal memory is worthless for instance, offering storage for only 20 photos. The LCD screen on the back is too small, not very good for reviewing pictures, and when using the (slow) internal memory, the picures in review mode take a few seconds to sharpen up. The internal memory is also painfully slow when taking pictures, with an annoying, long wait in between pictures. However, the camera becomes a different thing all together with a high performance SD memory card installed, offering better reviewing, picture taking and transfer speed to the computer. The picture quality is very good for a budget digital, colors are vivid, detail good. I find it doesnt perform very well in low light conditions however (like all digital cameras) and you must be careful to press the shutter button halfway down before taking pics, or risk over/under exposure. However, all cheap digicams share these problems, and i find the quality of the pics very good, i find this camera easy to use. With good quality Nimh batteries, it gives a reasonable shooting time in daylight, althought the flash reduces the battery life greatly. I also find the flash a bit too powerful at close range, although I'm sure that power would come in handy when illuminating a dark area from a long distance. All in all, this is good and I prefer the simplicity of the design, I even like the lack of zoom. The lack of zoom also increases the battery life. If you want a fancy camera, get a DSLR, if u just want to snap family pics, the CX4200 is a bargain, especially at the hugely dicounted prices I have seen lately. (they are obiously running the model out)

Summary: Amazing Simplicity
Review: I have had the camera for about a year now and I love it! Numerous amounts of times I have developed pictures taken with this camera and they come out great! The software is the easiest thing in the world to use. For the price, it is definately a great buy.

Summary: If it weren't a gift I'd send it back...
Review: Unless you're a philanthropist or one of those people who just love pain, don't buy this product. My first use went OK; I was able to send the pictures to my computer with little problem. Finding them was an adventure, but with a little computer knowhow (not available with camera) I found them.

Everything since then has been a nightmare.

I can take pictures, but my computer refuses to recognize the camera through the USB cable. Frustrated after several attempts, I bought Kodak's overpriced camera dock. It doesn't even do the initial charging of the batteries! But that's for a review on the dock...

The pictures it did take (both the ones I was able to get to my computer and the ones forever stuck on the camera) were subpar at best. They were fuzzy, and any amount of light (daylight and lack of) won't help this. The included software only helps if you don't use it. Even the wretched Paint software included on every PC is more help to pictures than the Kodak software.

Please, please, spend your hard earned money elsewhere. This product isn't worth any price tag.
