Rating: Summary: Much Better Than Expected Review: I purchased this little camera with very low expectations. I wanted a web cam that could be used for casual picture taking, but better than a toy. Based on the low price of this camera I didn't expect much, but because of mixed reviews and the fact that is was so novel, I decided to take a gamble. After a simple installation process I was ready to transfer pictures from the camera. We were quite surprised at the results (on the high resolution setting). While not as good as a moderately priced 1.3 MP camera, it takes acceptable pictures. It fits in a shirt pocket and can be carried anywhere. We found the video feature to work quite well too. The only downside is that everyone who sees it on my desk wants to try it! It is definitely worth the price advertised by Amazon.
Rating: Summary: Just a cool looking toy .. no substance Review: My main issue, the selected MODE such as indoor/outdoor, high/low resolution, is not saved between power off/on. Its always defaulted to INDOOR, HIGH RESOLUTION whenever you turn the power ON.And actually, you get nice picture with INDOOR setting when you are outdoor. So, I dont mind the INDOOR settings. Also remember to download and DELETE the pictures as soon as possible. This saves the battery. For picture taking, need to have plenty of light and distance between 2-10 feet. Anything longer or shorter and you will lose the focus.
Rating: Summary: buy with caution Review: Defective when received. Even if it were in working condition you are cautioned not to load the drivers if you are using Windows 2000 and XP (and possibly 98). The drivers have not be approved by Microsoft and could damage your OS. The CD-ROM that ships with the camera does not have drivers for the later operating systems. ...
Rating: Summary: Pretty good Review: I wanted a digital camera and since this one was so cheap and little, I decided to get it. It came in the mail after about 3 days and I couldn't believe how tiny it was. The pictures were great. The software was pretty good. Everyone that saw it wanted one. Unfortunatly plugging the camera into my computer caused my internet to get messed up, so I am not allowed to use it any more. If it weren't for this, the Sipix Stylecam Blink II Digital camera would be a miracle! I recommend you buy it. Our computer is just weird.
Rating: Summary: Cute, but still not worth the low price Review: It IS extremely small, and does actually take pictures, but the quality is much worse than you would hope for, even at 640x480. Lots of image degradation for compression (I guess), and most images come out blury, even when you try to hold the camera steady. I returned mine. Maybe in another year or two this size and price will be a better reality.
Rating: Summary: Novelty only Review: This camera is fun, but once the novelty wears off (after maybe a day) you're left with a toy. The resolution is much worse than you'd expect, even for 640x480, or 320x240, and even for [the price]. It's basically unusable if you prefer pictures where the subjects are recognizable. Also, to keep this considered an indoor-capable camera, the shutter speed goes up to 1/4 second indoors, so the resolution isn't the problem - it's the blurred images and poor exposures. Do you remember Neil Armstrong's first steps on the moon? That's the kind of images you'll get with this. This would be a great camera for a 5 yr old. It does work, the size is amazing, and it gets five stars for novelty, but one star for actual picture-taking.
Rating: Summary: Don't Use Rechargeables??!!?? Review: I'm generally happy with this camera, but I was dismayed when I found that it said not to use rechargeable batteries with it. I chose this over the credit card sized ones because it was cheaper and thought I could just use rechargeables to deal with the battery munching. I'm also having trouple with the low resolution video. Still its meeting the need for a[n] [inexpensive]camera to send photos of the kids to Grandparents.
Rating: Summary: Not bad if... Review: This camera will be a satisfying purchase to its buyers if their expectations aren't too great. Basically, it's small and neato-looking, and it takes fairly good pictures. But most of all it's small. I would give it a 5 if it were able to retain its memory (of taken photos) when the battery dies out. But because of this one major problem, 3 is all it's getting from me. I have one and it has a very limited, but very specific use for me. It does that just fine. My worry is people will buy this thing expecting just a bit more than with the SiPix can deliver.
Rating: Summary: A great little fun camera Review: Why are people complaining that the quality of the photos is not "professional?" The camera was never made, or claims to be of professional quality. This is a fun little camera, a novelty. The only drawback is that it eats batteries like theres no tomorrow, but what the heck, I have had a ball using it. oh, and as to picture quality...I have seen worse.
Rating: Summary: Battery hog Review: bought this cute little camera from a local mass-merchandiser store for my three children to use for fun and school projects. It sucks the power from a battery a day, so it wasn't any more economical than buying film for the 35mm regular camera and paying for processing. Least with the 35mm cam, the pictures won't be blurry.
