Rating: Summary: Great Compact 5MP Camera !!! Review: I have had the C-50 Camera for about 15 months now and have taken 1000's of photos for home & office use. Very easy to operate. The size is perfect. Not to small to use and fit in your hand but not to big and bulky to carry. I did purchase a couple of the 256 cards as the 5MP uses alot of card space. This is my 4th digital camera and I use it everyday. I looked at several different cameras before picking this one and 15 months later I'm still happy with my choice. The price is quite a bit lower now than I paid 15 months ago. For less than 400.00 I feel the C-50 is the best choice out there. Sure you can spend 1000.00 and probably buy a "better" camera that is 2 or 3 times bigger than the C-50 but I will put the photos made by my C-50 up against any of them. A prof.photographer might could tell the difference in photos made by a 1000.00 to 1500.00 camera but I'd bet 98% of the people you would show them to couldn't tell the difference. Oh yea, spend another 30.00 and get an extra battery. Buy the C-50, You will Love it !!!
Rating: Summary: Good compact camera Review: I have had this camera for about 6 months now and love it. It's not perfect, but does a great job for a mid range compact camera. Everyone is impressed by the quality of the pictures and it easy to use, yet has advanced settings for those who want to really tinker with the settings for special situations. Battery life is good. There were days when I would take over 100 pictures and still have some power left. Downside? It has a little bit of a hard time focusing in dim light. But a great camera over all.
Rating: Summary: A great camera Review: I really love this camera. It has enormous possibilities and I cannot wait to use it for my Christmas pictures. The pictures I made up until now came out very beautifully. I bought an extension for the software and this makes editing the pictures even easier. I would be nice is there was an instant fix for red eye reduction too. I can however live with having to do it myself. Once again another great product by Olympus.
Rating: Summary: A very nice camera...with a big CCD Review: I was looking for a camera with 5 megapixels because I wanted to be able to replace our 35 mm film camera. The ability to print film-quality 8x10s was a real allure. My wife wanted something small that we could carry with us all of the time. Our decision came down to the C-50 and the Nikon Coolpix 5000 series. This camera is decidedly smaller than the Nikon, and cost less to boot. Since niether of us are professional photographers, we did not miss all of the "add-ins" in the menu system that the Nikon had. This is a great camera to point and shoot with incredible results. As some have mentioned, there can be a lot of redeye with this camera, but I think this is likely from most cameras. Anyways, almost everyone uses some program to take out the blemishes, so that is not a biggie. You will want to buy a bigger xD card though, I would recommend the 128 MB. The xD is quite nice as it seems faster than CF and SD cards, so no complaints there either. We have had this for over a year, and love it. Highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: Love this camera! Review: I think this camera is definitely worth the money. It takes great pictures and has many many features. Its easy to use once you use it a few times, or read the manual. Battery lasts a while, takes great close ups too! Non blurry. Sometimes get the red eye but depends what setting you have it on. Once you learn how to use it you know what setting is best for what it works wonders!
Rating: Summary: Olympus C50 Poor Red Eye Review: Almost all pictures with or without the reduction come out with red eye. Not worth the valuse for family photos even if you can take it out with software.
Rating: Summary: Great camera, but know more about this before you buy. Review: You will not go wrong on this 5MP camera if you have used Olympus C-series cameras before. If you are new to olympus C-series, you may need some extra time to make it work for you. Do not compare this with D40 as that was just a "Point & shoot" camera while C series cameras are of "Full featured" type and targeted for users who do more than just point and shoot. Unlike C-3020 OR C5050 this camera's "auto" settings does not seem to adjust well for different conditions. If you use manual settings this camera is one of the best. Using your personal settings is relatively easy with "my settings" mode. Redeye seems to come little often but can be cleared by "Redeye reduction" in the camera or using the software that comes with it. Pros: Size Manual settings Battery life Sturdy body Cons: No audio "Auto" mode has some problem Hope this helps.
Rating: Summary: Great Pictures and Simple to Use Review: I think this camera is definitely worth the money. It takes great pictures and has so many features. I also find it very easy to use. Five stars!
Rating: Summary: Best ever Review: I have owned four Olympus digital cameras and this is the best of the lot. I took my Olympus C-50 to Switzerland last spring and it performed beautifully. The battery held a charge far longer than I expected. The settings on the camera are a bit complex, but I managed to deal with most of them after a short time. The picture quality is fantastic for any camera available today and for a camera so small and light weight it is just what a traveling photographer needs. This camera is all metal and as rugged as can be. I am no expert, but the Olympus C-50 is the best camera I have ever taken on one of my trips. When I got home the downloading to my PC was a breeze. I use Camedia Master to put my digital photos onto a CD-R disk. I would recommend this camera for anyone who wants high performance in a very small (shirt pocket) package.
Rating: Summary: Keep Looking Review: I bought this camera based on several reviews most notably Consumer Reports. Size good. Battery life good. 5 megapixels very good. My experience using the camera not good--too much red eye, weak zoom and not durable. My camera quit working after just 3 months. It jammed in the open position. It was not wet or exposed to sand. However, all of those things can void the warranty.
