Summary: Poor Quality, Driver Problems
Review: Pictures are grainy and of poor quality for the specifications. I also get a lot of flicker while in Webcam mode. Useless to take outdoor pictures. My phone takes much better pictures. To top it all off, Windows XP fails to locate the USB device though sometimes I can get it to work by reinstalling drivers.

Summary: Good but very basic
Review: The camera is small, which makes it convenient to grab quick snapshots; it holds a lot of pictures; and the plug-in-and-download feature is nice. However, there's no preview window, and the image quality is disappointing. It's pretty average as a webcam. Also, installing the software on my Win98 box slowed the computer down significantly, though this was not a problem on WinXP. Overall, if you're looking for a basic starter camera or a webcam, this is a decent choice, but don't expect much.

Summary: Camera just stopped working
Review: The camera used to work great. I could unplug it from the computer, take it out and snap some pix, and plug it back in. The computer would detect the camera and download the pix like it's supposed to. Howver when I tried to do that today, it didn't detect the cam at all.

When I looked in the Hardware Profiles, it showed the camera as an unknown USB device instead of what it really is. It was no longer listed under vid capt devices either. I uninstalled/reinstalled the software so many times it's not even funny.

I applied USB patches from Microsoft and Via, but those did no good. Now I'm not sure if there was something wrong with the camera or with my computer's USB ports. This camera was the only USB device I had so now I have no way of knowing.

However this machine doesn't take great pix or have good image quality in the first place, so I can slam it if I want to.

Summary: Horrible quality - Not worth the money
Review: There is nothing positive I can say about this camera. The pictures are dark and blurry. The software is cheapy and horrible. When used as a webcam the quality is garbage. My advise to other shoppers out there: Spend a few bucks more and buy some other model.

Summary: Play digital camera or decent web cam
Review: This camera is about as simple as they get. I gave this camera to my daughter who is 9 and she loves it. She has it hooked up to her E-machines Celeron Win Xp system and uses it as a web cam for yahoo IM. As a webcam it gives good images and works well (better than quickcam express USB). As a digital camera it can take 40 352 x 144 pixel photos or 160 176 x 144 pixel photos. It can also take 15 seconds of video. It runs on 4 AAA batteries as a digital camera or off the USB power as a webcam. The digital camera even has a timer and a multisnap mode that will snap off 5 shots at one second intervals. It provides a counter for the photos and battery status indicator. I would suggest going to Logitech's web site and downloading the most up to date software and installing it rather than starting with the supplied CD. Mine had ver 5.6.3 supplied but version 7 is out now. With the supplied software you can even set up the webcam to be a motion sensor camera and take shots when it senses movement. Overall it is a good cheap webcam with the option to remove it from its cradle and take some low quality snapshots. If purchased on sale with rebate it should be a good deal.

Summary: great web cam but needs a flash
Review: This has turned out to be a better webcam than I expected. It does a wonderful job for everything I needed in a webcam. Great pictures when instant messaging and sending images in emails. The software also has a motion detector which snaps shots of any movement around your computer (with audible warnings if you want eg. dog's barking). This feature can be fun or useful if stuff is missing from your desk! As a camera it falls a little short. If it had a built in flash it would work much better! It doesn't take pictures in low light, but in bright light or full daylight it does well. I reccomend it for the money I don't think you could get much better!!

Summary: Fantastic, easy-to-use product
Review: This is a product that defines value-for-money. The software is easy to setup and the device is easy to use with USB plug-and-play, I was up and running in about 10 minutes (I had to reboot the PC though after installing the drivers). The device serves as a good web cam and as a good, cheap digital camera for party pictures. I'd recommend it to anyone (plus Best Buy is selling this with a $20 mail-in rebate, making it a good buy).
