Summary: -_-
Review: Bought the camera thinking my first digital camera would be great!... Proven wrong since it doesn't quite like close-ups nor like 50 ft away pics either. What a shame and what a waste of over 400+ considering my sister got the same thing (twin) and we got the dock.

Summary: Like the camera but HATE the software!
Review: I was looking for an inexpensive easy to use digital camera to take good quality family pictures to print and email and also for editing auction photos. I had read so many great reviews of this camera before I bought it and back then I ended up spending $600 w/ the dock and accessories and warranty. I absolutely HATE the software that comes with this camera. It is not user friendly at all, I lose my pictures, they don't show up in their folders when I go to retrieve them and every photo I download has to go in this software. It prints nice pictures after you finally get them ready. All mine have red eye, so the dock was a waste of $200 as it only gave me about 3 photos and is basically an expensive recharger which takes up space. I also want to use it for auction photos but cannot get good close ups or find my photos later and dislike waiting while each picture downloads again everytime I take a new picture. I have to sit and wait about 5 minutes or more to even get to my new pic for my auction as have yet to edit every pic. Most end up with red eye and need retouching. They also do not always turn out as I take them. Sometimes the flash is delayed and I don't get the shot i want. i have set the red eye and flash but it does not work properly. I cannot beleive i spent $600 on this piece of junk. If I want to go to the drugstore and print out a picture, the color is good but then what is the point. I want to have a good pic to begin with and/or be able to use the software to edit it and email or put it in an auction. They look terrible in my auctions as closeups are difficult even using the closeup viewer. The auto is better. I still have not figured out the software and wish I had the money to trash this camera and get another one or at least use another software with it. It does not go into another program but Kodak pictures and you can not find them by date when emailing or browsing. They are not in their folders or by date, they are random and I do not know which is my editd pic and which is the original b/c if i get rid of the original, it erases all of them. You have to save your edited pic in a folder or it is not actually there either. Anyone know of a better camera with good editing software. Maybe I can sell this one and get something else. The dock holds the charge all day for me so I don't even need any extra batteries but that was not worth $200 plus warranty.

Summary: Outstanding Camera
Review: I bought this digital camera as my first digital camera, and am blown away with it. Before I bought I studied all the different brands, read reviews and settled on this camera. The pictures are great and very easy to use. I use my camera juat about everywhere I go. I've taken day shots, night shots, moving shots and so on. Haven't had a single problem with it. Yes it does go through batteries quite quickly but its never been a problem with me.

Summary: I love my camera
Review: I absolutely love this camera. I received it as a birthday gift and have used it a lot with friends. I'm 15 and brought it to camp this summer, my pictures were the best I'd taken in my 5 years of camp. My only setback is the fact that my battery door had a little piece break off so it doesn't stay shut all the way but my dcut tape matches it pretty well so it's not a big deal.
Using the LCD all the time drains the battery pretty quickly but if it's on quickview there's not a problem.
I suggest buying a memory card because it only holds 16 pictures at the best setting within the internal memory. My dad bought me a 512MB card and it will hold 570 some pictures.

Summary: easy to use, easy to setup, good picture quality
Review: I've had this camera since May. The software installation was simple and painless, it connects reliably to my XP PC, data transfer is fast and easy. The supplied software is usable, though the image editing features are very limited. Camera operation is simple and intuitive. Works well in auto mode in a variety of lighting conditions. Tends to auto-flash when I don't want it to (but there's a button to turn off the flash, if you remember to do so).

Other reviewers have said that battery life is better with this camera than with others. I don't know about that, but it seems I have to replace / recharge pretty often.

The image quality is excellent, in my opinion. Kodak doesn't claim you can get decent results at larger than 4" x 6", but I've blown up images to 5" x 7" with great results, and to 7" x 10" with acceptable results (if you don't look too closely).

The LCD is pretty hard to see in daylight - I've found I often need to use the viewfinder for framing images.

At the same time I bought the camera I also bought the Kodak printer dock. I don't recommend it. Although it works fine, paper and cartridges are very expensive, and the device takes up a surprising amount of space on your desk. Get a good color printer capable of photo printing instead.

Summary: waste of time and money
Review: I don't know if I like this camera's picture quality because I haven't been able to view my pictures. My computer will not recognize the USB device because the device has malfunctioned, and when I called Kodak support after an hour on the phone they could not help. They did tell me it was a "known problem," they just don't know how to fix it. They recommended I go to Microsoft, and if that didn't work, they wouldn't even guarantee that they would replace the cable. My computer and operating system are not the problem - their software and USB cable are the problem, which they admitted. Why are they selling incompatible hardware and software that they know will interfere with XP? And then to refuse to replace it outright? I had a Gateway digital camera that broke after 6 months, and now this, which happened immediately. My next camera will be a Canon or Nikon, but I can't afford one because the supplier might not accept the return on this one, and I don't have $1000 to spend on digital cameras throughout the course of six months. I have never been so incensed. I will NEVER work with Kodak again. I just hope they take this junk off my hands.

Summary: Great picture quality
Review: I bought this camera back in March and I returned the original one I bought because after taking about 4 pictures it wouldn't turn on anymore and it ended up being defective in the long run. Now I have one that works wonders. The only thing is that when your batteries get low or die altogether it doesn't always give you a low battery warning. It's wonderful for taking everyday pictures and the print quality is awesome. The video feature is great for little videos that are like 2 minutes in length. There is also a variety of picture taking modes that make digital photography with this camera idiot proof.

The USB cable that comes with it is smaller on the end that plugs into the camera but standard on the other end. The camera also comes with an AV cable that connects to your tv so you can view your pictures and your video's through your own tv. The software that comes with this camera is a JOKE! I would recommend buying a memory card reader and photo printing software so you can print your pictures. It can be VERY confusing and very difficult to use.

The camera itself is a wonderful deal and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a digital camera but doesn't want the high price tag. Our friend has a 5.0 mp Kodak digital camera and the prints from mine turn out much better than hers.
