Summary: FM RADIO DOES NOT WORK AT ALL
Review: Mp3 part is great but FM radio will not receive any station without noise. My digital walkman does receive in the same location 25 stations with perfect sound.
I tryied 3 units and the same problem. If you will be lucky you will get 1 station out of 25 and still with noise. Piece of junk.

Summary: Returned mine
Review: My unit that quit working after 2 days. Started to skip, lose sound, and stall completely after I downloaded more than 100Mb. Also didn't quite care for the product for the following reasons:

1. Cheap plastic casing with a track button that wasn't quite centered.
2. Cheap headset.
3. Software was ok but kept prompting me to upgrade ($$).

Returned for a refund (hopefully)! Maybe it was just my luck, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

Summary: Excellent
Review: NEX IA is a nice player. At first I had some hesitation because of Frontier Labs is a relatively unknown company. But after I got the player and played around with it for a while, it won me over. It is just very easy and simple to use. For a not so computer literate person like myself, I was afraid it would be very difficult and complicated. But it wasn't. The sound was also solid and crisp. For $129, I think its a bargain.

Summary: NEX 1a is having lots of problems
Review: One thing that is good is the quality of the sound (if unit works).
But the rest is just bad design. FM radio will work if you sit on the transmitting antenna of the FM transmitter. In urban area where your cheap radio is receiving 50 radio stations this one will receive one if you are lucky enough.
Cheap plastic chassis, with falling apart FC card cover.
Controller is not doing what you try to do, select this but it will run something else.
Songs stops or skips in the middle.
Battery indicator is crazy, shows half the power but unit stops.
Sound level indicator is jumping like crazy with 5 seconds delay what you listen.

Voice recoreder very low level. FM recordin useless because FM is not working
Product not recommended for buying. How this was able to get to USA market. Just rip off.

Technical support says all is fine but it is obviously not.

Please buy iRiver or iPod you will enjoy it.

Summary: Poor Quality
Review: Received the player with great expectations only to find it virtually unusable because of the extremely poor fit of the headset plug in the player's jack. The plug wobbles around and loses contact so that the only way to listen to the player is to hold the plug in by hand. Still with any movement it loses contact. Frustrating for an expensive player. Am in the process of contacting Frontier Labs for repair or replacement. Will update the review later with their response.

Summary: Big time Value for Money
Review: Since I'm only 15 and don't have a saturday job or anything, this Nex ia (I got the + model) did exactly what I wanted for a mere £59.00 I bought the player with 4 batteries and a charger and Sennheiser earbuds and the sound quality is AMAZING. I bought the player off www.advancedmp3players.co.uk and the service was great. Because my cashflow is very limited i found this to be a complete bargain and I conveniently already owned a 128mb Cf card for my digital camera. There was a problem with the joystick 'up' but I sent it back and the replacement was fine. Overall, I think this Mp3 player is the best value for money possible and the sound quality is just so much better than i expected off such a cheap product.

Pros: Looks soooooooo sweeeet!!, Easy to transfer mp3s and WMA files, good inline remote, incredible sound, feels solid ( i like my technology to feel like it has some substance and is not made of polystyrene) and perfectly weighted, amazing value
Cons: Poor software (I don't see the point), Manual included is not full comprehensive, have to download the PDf off the cd to read all the instructions, unreliable joystick, awful FM radio.

Summary: Not bad, but could be better
Review: The Nex IA player is really simple to operate. The drag-n-drop method for transferring songs/files is really neat. The remote control on the headphones is very nice. However, the radio reciption is not clear.

The design could be improved by adding a clip or arm band strap to the case. The current case has a belt loop and none of my running outfits have belts. Next the door that covers the CF card keeps popping open - probably from poor manufacturing.

Summary: Good ---almost great
Review: The player is just what someone with lots of spare CF cards wants. I have several 1 GB card left over from my old digital camera and this guy is great at using them. The MP3 player is five starts with all the function I need (after a firmware upgrade). The FM radio tuner stinks. It only works well when stationary. The only draw back (for me) is it doesn't come with an armband for use while jogging. The headphones are not conventional but work great and dont fall off while jogging. It was a good buy at the rebate price.

Summary: Good player, a few flaws
Review: The player is pretty good in general. The sound quality is excellent, fairly easy to use. The firmare was a bit buggy but Frontier Labs now has an upgrade on their site. I just downloaded it and it offers a few fixes. Hopefully, they improved on a generally good product. Among the flaws are the memory card door that just wouldn't stay closed, the battery indicator that is virtuallty useless - the player goes dead with the indicator showing the battery 75% full. And absence of a belt clip on the pouch. The download time through a USB port is pretty long, but then I have a 512 meg CF card that takes 10-15 min to fill. I bought a CF card PCMCIA laptop adapter which is much faster for loading files. The player also doubles as a protable storage device - you can drag and drop any files on it. Also, a bit bulky for jogging.
Overall, very versatile device with great basic functionality and sound quality. CF cards now come up to 1 Gig, giving plenty of storage on an industry standard memory card.
