Review: Buy this, set it up to record The Jim Rome Show, (check local listings, chances are it is on while you are at work) and then you can listen to the best radio show in the country.

Summary: Mr. Franklin English from Atlanta-how to ressurect your RYW!
Review: Can't comment on MP3 functions of this as I only use it to record plays, phone-ins etc off FM and AM radio. It's very good for this, though the quality of FM recordings is more like 'enhanced AM' and only in mono even if the original FM broadcast was in stereo. But having said that it's literally transformed my listening at home, in the car - everywhere. One word of advice - another reviewer on here - "Mr. Franklin English from Atlanta" - wrote that his Radio Yourway unit suddenly stopped recording for no apparent reason. Mine did too. But all you have to do is press the 'REPEAT' button for about 15 seconds to reset the whole unit (you will lose any shows stored on the internal memory) then it's problem solved, Mr English! (Well, it worked for me anyway!)

Summary: One Star for Bad Customer Service Policy
Review: Ditto to the last upgrade review. It's a neat little machine when it does what you want. But...

Did you know that they have radio in Korea (I was handily informed of this by Jeff at Pogo)?

And, you can take it to Europe where they have different channel spacing (if you spend the extra $10).

They want me to send in the unit and charge me $10, and I just bought mine 10 days ago. Don't believe that all the units out there now are the latest version! There's no way to tell without opening the box and Pogo doesn't seem to care unless you bought it from them.

They felt they were doing me a favor by telling me about the updated firmware -- hey, they could have kept a secret. Maybe they should have. Of course, then I found these reviews.

Summary: FINALLY, A TIVO FOR RADIO
Review: I am very pleased with the AM/FM recording function. It works exactly as advertised, and great for recording radio talk shows. If you encounter problems, their call in help desk is very efficient.

On the downside, the FM radio sensitivity is a little weak, so you will need a strong signal. Programming is initially tricky, but once mastered is quite straightforward. Instructions in the user manual are not always clear. Battery life is very short. I purchase an inexpensive AC adapter from Radio Shack. Recording/playback fidelity is OK for radio, but distincly poor for music files.

Summary: Works just great for me!
Review: I am writing this review in response to the very negative review I read from electric geek girl because the review she wrote is not fair/accurate for the product.

1.There is no static from these recordings for me. And the voice recordings this rviewer claimed to make was a concert (Read her Yahoo group post) I asked PoGo! If the Radio is designed to record concerts and to no-ones surprise they said it is not. It records voices and AM/FM fine.

2.The software works fine on XP PRO for me. Maybe the electric geek girl has OS problems and needs to patch it up.

3.Windows XP recognizes the unit with included XP DRIVERS installed for me just fine

4-5 RVF works just fine and can be converted to WAV and 32KBPS is perfect for talk Radio saving memory space.

6.I have seen more expensive adaptors sold before.

7.Try making modifications to any device under warranty or better yet go out and buy a LAP TOP and use a 3rd party adaptor. You risk any problems caused by it to affect your warranty. Again that is normal for just about any case.

8.Mine has the latest firmware.

9. PoGo! Does Honor the warranty from all places (except Ebay) and that is posted on their website.

10.Thanks for the link I saw many great reviews/comments about the product there.

Summary: Does not measure up
Review: I bought this for the am/fm radio so I could listen and record from this player while I was on my messenger route. The radio portion worked somewhat when outside, but hardly at all in the car or inside the house. I am in the strong Chicago area with lots of signal strength. The lack of sensitivity of the radio is a real disapointment. The concept of this device is good but it totally hinges on good radio reception. There is no backlight so you cannot see what you are doing when taking walks at night. The volume is also very weak. I give it two stars only for the concept but as a piece of hardware it is the pits.
I next purchased the Virgin Pulse player and it met all the requirements with excellent fm reception backlighting and ID tags. You can record the fm band radio or use it for voice recording. It lacked timer recording and having an am band. I can do without this but would really have prefered all the features of the Radio Your Way. Radio Your Way was certainly not Radio My Way, I do not recomend buying until they make a better radio to go with the features!

Summary: Great Product! Wonderful for Recording Talk Radio
Review: I bought this product December 2003 on Amazon.com and love it! I use it primarily to record talk radio - especially Coast to Coast late at night. It is great for recording talk radio, but not for recording music - bad sound quality if used to listening MP3s. Digital tuning and playing of AM/FM channels is fine. MP3s sound great. Software is ok.

Suggestions for those who buy this product: Buy an AC Adapter or NiMh rechargeable batteries. It uses batteries fairly quickly when recording. Buy extra Security Digital memory the internal memory will hold only about 10 MP3 songs, and 4.5 hours of recording. Hold stop down until unit shuts off when playing recordings to save your place.

Suggestions for Pogo: When you hit play it should play all MP3s, like a playlist, not just one MP3 at a time. Now you have to hit play after each MP3. Allow software to convert recordings direct to MP3. Build in one touch record like a VCR where you can one touch record for a half hour, hour, up to 4.5 hours. Include the case with purchase.

Summary: New Radio Yourway units come with the latest firmware
Review: I contacted PoGo! Tech Support because I was concerned about this Monday-Saturday issue and the 10 dollar charge and was told that all new Radio yourways come with the latest firmware installed with the following features:

M-F setting

œ Resume Function

While listening to a file, press and hold the STOP (<) Button (this will turn the unit off) when you power on the unit again (pressing PLAY 4), the file will continue (resume) to play from the section you left off.

œ AM/FM Region Setting
You can change RADIO YourWayfs AM region setting from EUROPE (9) to USA (10).

I was explained that the reason any user is charged 10 dollars because they purchased the unit with out the update (since all new units come with it he probally has an old unit) and that charge covers the return shipping charges. Since this does not apply to all new Radio Yourways I have no problem.

It shows that Pogo listens to their customers and improves their products. The guy complaining about ten bucks should be happy that Pogo can improve his older model by offering such a service.

Summary: Great for talk radio, not so great for music playback
Review: I got this because I like to listen to talk radio late at night before I go to sleep and my favorite show is on when I am at work and I can't listen to it. Radio Your Way is fantastic for this but when I tried listening to music on this, the music sounded awful. I don't like the headphones either.

Summary: NO PROBLEMS FOR ME
Review: I have had no problem with my Radio YourWay Portable MP3 Player and Radio Recorder! It sounds like some people have had problems with their product. I don't know what they're doing different, but I have had no problem with mine. This is just what I've been searching for, and I am happy to have it.
It comes with batteries. You can save up to 10 stations (Keep in mind that you do not have to save 10 stations. In fact, it might be best that you only save 9.) Some MP3 Players are more expensive, and they don't have a radio, but this gem does have a radio. It is portable-It's the smallest electronic I own. Besides, downloading MP3 is illegal.
Finding something good on the Net can be a challenge, (Especially when all the reviews are negative... That doesn't help.)But when you *do* find something good, you end up not caring what others think. I didn't know what I was really going to get when I ordered a Radio YourWay from Amazon.com, but I saved my money and I bought it and I haven't had a problem with it. I don't care what others say. I like this product. And, no, I do not use it for MP3.
