Summary: Do not bother if you use Windows NT
Review: If you are looking to use Windows other than 98 or 2000... check your system out first.

Response from Creative Labs... "The Nomad Jukebox is not supported under Windows NT. The Jukebox uses the USB interface which is not supported under Windows NT, so this device will not work in Windows NT."

Needless to say, I am very disappointed that this little bit of information was not provided here. I learned today that NT does not support USB. Now my decision is can I get enough value out of this or should I return it or do I need to upgrade my system to Windows 2000 (I am not ready to do this).

Summary: Bonus!
Review: Something I didn't know about before I bought the Jukebox, but they included hours of free music preinstalled. Nothing like Madonna or anyone really popular, but plenty of dance tunes, world music, 80's rock guitar, some cream of the free internet music scene, and a ton of excellent Classical and Jazz. There are even 2 audio books on there - Frankenstein and Robinson Crusoe! Just another bonus to an already excellent package.

Review: Finally NOMAD has come out with the best of the best. It was the Nomad 2 who had the audience then.......the Jukebox stole the show. over 120 hours of music=1,200 songs. Gosh, nothing can defeat this baby.

Summary: Holy Schnike's This thing rocks!
Review: The Jukebox is awsome. It so far has 63 albums recorded at 128 bit, and there is still more room. Dont buy those other mp3 players who can only expand to 370mb max and at nearly twice the cost. There is a nice waranty on the moving parts anyway. It is the size of a cd player though, so a little big. But I got a hip sack designed for cd players made out of neoprene that keeps it snug, and only paid 15 bucks for that.. This is the best mp3 player out there now, and for a really long time i think...

Summary: STOP! This is BY FAR the best MP3 player on the market!
Review: I have owned one for a week or so now, and I am convinced that this is one of the most amazing technological achievements I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. The industry jumped so quickly from the RIO, which holds a mere 64MB to the NOMAD, which holds an amazing 6GB. I use Napster and have over two thousand songs, and I have managed to put just about all of them on my player, in addition to CD tracks that I ripped. I am completely satisfied with this product and hope that other technological industries can make such drastic advances as has been made in the MP3 market...Mike

Summary: This is my coolest gadget!
Review: I actually *have* one of these units, which was released nationwide on Sep 10th! I've used it a few days and overall, I LOVE IT! Obviously, the good point about it is you can store most or all of your audio collection in this lightweight, tiny unit. The software is easy to use. Downloading is fast 15Mb/minute... (about 15x realtime). Unit is easy to use, and it seems pretty rugged. Display shows lots of info and is nicely backlit. Let me re-iterate: This thing is GREAT! You've done your research and know why you want it, so it may be more useful for me to nitpick the downsides:

>claimed battery life (I haven't tested it): 4 hours is ridiculously short, and you can't use regular alkalines as backup. Conventional DC adapters won't work either --not enough juice.

>no song scan: Despite it saying on the box that you can scan thru a song, you cannot. This makes it painful to listen to audio books with hour-long chapters --if you stop, you have to go back to the beginning of a chapter! I suspect they can and will add this feature in their next downloadable firmware update.

>no reordering: you can't reorder songs on the active playlist...not a big deal...

>uncomfortable headphones: they sound fine, but clamp my head way too tightly! They should fold for portability too.

>a bit pricey: have to worry about it getting stolen...shop for a good price ;)

>accessories not available yet: would love the remote control that they're hinting at offering in the future. A protective case where you can actually *use* the unit while it is in the case would be great. Patience...

tip: turn off 'Novice Mode' or menu navigation will be SLOW.

These are all small nitpicks! Buy one and you'll have fun!

Summary: Best Mp3 player ever
Review: This is easily the best Mp3 player ever. 6 gigs of storage! You could load it up with music, start playing and not hear the same song for FOUR days! There is only 1 other Mp3 player like it (Personal Jukebox) and it is clunky and costs 750 dollars. If you want a serious Mp3 player good for travel, school or home audio system (it has 4 speaker output) but this NOW.

Summary: Nomad Jukebox Rules!
Review: The Nomad Jukebox is letting you take the next step into MP3 technology. I mean most MP3 players cost around 150-400 dollars, and the most memory you can get with an MP3 player of the cost is 64 megs. Now personally I think that is like no space at all because thats only 2 hours worth of music. I have about 100 hours worth of music on my computer and in my CD collection, so these 150-400 dollar MP3 players wouldn't quite suffice. That is why you need to go ahead and purchase the Nomad Jukebox. This MP3 player is $500 which is only $100 more than the top of the line MP3 player that can only hold 64 megs. The Nomad Jukebox on the other hand can hold 6 gigs which is about 50 times more than 64 megs. So if you want to be able to store your whole CD collection on a sleek, good looking MP3 player, than this Jukebox is for you. Let me remind you that this MP3 player can hold over 100 hours of music on it, and it won't ever skip.

Summary: 100 hours of music vs. 2 hours
Review: load this thing up with mp3s & hit random play. Its like your own radio station with no commercials playing only the songs you like.
