Rating: Summary: BUY!! UNLESS YOU CAN'T COPY AND PASTE!!! Review: It's funny to read some of the reviewers gripe on about how the jukebox made their computer crash or how it "all of a sudden" malfuntioned. These reviewers were obviously smokin something or else they don't know how to drag and drop files from their harddrive into the jukebox. The jukebox is a great product especially at only 200 dollars. Sometimes response can be slow when pressing buttons but it's just a very small complaint. Contrary to all the "bugs" that were posted on some of these reviews, those people just can't really grasp the basics on how to opperate a simple system of "drag and drop". Buy the product.
Rating: Summary: An excellent MP3 player Review: The Archos Jukebox 6000 is one of the best MP3 players available. The price on Amazon.com is better than the price of almost any other player capable of hold Gigabytes of data. The Jukebox 6000 can hold up to 6 GB of data, which translates to about 1500 songs. The batter pack lasts closer to 10 hours than the 8 hours advertised. The battery recharge is very useful as it's kind of difficult to get the cover over the batteries off. It's a little heavy, so you can't really take it running. However, the size is not a problem so you don't have to worry about portability. I have not experienced any major problems with the instructions or the unit itself. And contrary to popular belief, you can make playlists. The Jukebox 6000 is an excellent unit and worthy of your purchase.

I don't get Why all the reviews say that that the headphones are no good.Because mine are pretty dang good.. The sound is really good too.. The only reason why I gave this product a 4 star is because its hard getting it sarted with windows XP and the no help instructions-- But hey I figured it out, all you have to do is zip, and unzip, and drag and drop your files and that pretty much worked for me.. --I decided to get this because it holds so many songs.. So I love it.. -- I'm not sure about Nomands, because I never tryed it.. --- JUST GET ARCHOS its a blast to have... SO GET IT AND ROCK ON!
Rating: Summary: Technical Difficulties Review: We loved our MP3 player until we were charging it one day and the thing started smoking. It began melting from inside. Anyone else have this problem?

Rating: Summary: $[money] sounds good...but dont be fooled...WORTHLESS!! Review: I recieved this, EVEN after reading all of the negative reviews. This is why I COMPLETELY blame myself for getting this product. Sure it is the manufacturers fault for making a defective product, but I did not take the role of agood consumer. I never got this product to work with my MAC and it froze my computer every time...Other then this obviously vital flaw, here are some other things cosmetically wrong with the ARCHOS:1) Poor build quality. I had to jam the AC adapter in the slot because it was slightly askew under the casing 2) Headphones that came with the product, which was even declared to be "New and improved" were so poorly constructed that the plastic molding is sharp enough to scratch skin. Yeah thats right, you can see the mold that the heaphones were cast in. 3) Smelled like burned rubber upon opening it. Bottom Line: Buy this product if you want. But I am warning you. It is worthless. I am a MAC user and decided just not to skimp and buy an iPOD...lets just say it is amazing. For the extra money you not only not only get quality but the utmost compatiblitity with your computer. It is egernomic, sleak, and hotsinks with iTUNES. A+ to iPOD!
Rating: Summary: ...[[You] can't beat it for the price... Review: ...[It] does have a lot going for it... First, it works with any machine that has a USB connection. You can easily use it with your Mac, your Windows machine, even Linux drivers are readily available. Second, it's got 1GB more than the standard ...does. It doesn't have that wacky protection the ...[standard] has, so you can use it to keep your home and office collections in sync with one another. It can even store non-MP3 files... I keep only 5.5GB worth of music on it so that I've got 5ooMB or so to transfer files to and from work. Sure beats having 5 Zip disks floating around my briefcase. Oh yeah, and it's... cheaper than the standard... The bottom line here is that it does just what it's supposed to and it does it quite well. Once you get the navigation system down, it's easy to move around the menus and find what you're looking for. If you add this to your shopping cart, you should plan on spending a little more for headphones. The ones that come with it are functional, but you'd be better off with a decent pair of Sony headphones. Bottom line... if you're a Mac user and you like the idea of (A) supporting Apple's innovation, and (B) always having your music sync'd with your portable, then get the ...standard. If you're a Windows or Linux user, or if you like a device that's easy to hack into and mod to your heart's content, this is definitely one of the better portable MP3 player's out there.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Product Review: I purchased this unit, despite other reviews posted here, because of the disk size - there is not much point in having only one hour's worth of MP3 space when I listen to music all day long at work. Other users noted that the unit was hard to use. I haven't found that to be the case. The only glich I have noticed is that the player doesn't want to detach sometimes, and if you disconnect the unit before detaching and while Windows is still up, you will crash your PC. I have gotten around this by shutting down (or restarting) my PC and then disconnecting the unit once my PC has powered down. I have about 5 hours of music on my player so far and have used only a fraction of the drive space. Buy it! It's a good thing.
Rating: Summary: good value Review: Having extensively researched MP3 players prior to buying, I elected to go for the Archos Jukebox based on price for capacity. I can confirm that the headphones are poor quality. This is common to many MP3 players. Do not judge the player by listening to through these headphones. I purchased a set of Sony MDRG63 headphones recommended by consumer reports for all my audio needs - these are light, comfortable and inexpensive .... The sound quality of the Archos through these is very good. Downloads via the USB are very fast. Set up is simple. In some of the other reviews I see folks complaining that the instructions are unclear - these are probably the same people who need a recipe to boil water. I am no computer expert but I had everthing installed within 5 minutes. You have to fully charge the unit before you use it for the first time. If you want an MP3 player for jogging buy something else. Although small the Archos is a little too heavy and has no belt clip. It is excellent for stationary work outs in the gym however. Battery life is about 6 hours. I have had my unit for 3 weeks with no problems so far. I would recommend the Arcos product.
Rating: Summary: Good luck with it. Review: Nice idea but poor execution. When I could get it to work with the computer, it's actual performance was mediocre. Sound quality was poor. Lots of distortion at peak volume levels. Volume levels hardly enough to overcome local noise. This was my fastest product return ever. Save yourself some time. Look elsewhere.
