Summary: GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT!!!
Review: I am a 10 year old user. Young people who are looking at the ipod and have a Windows computer, please don't get it.It's a lot of money and the archos requires 2 computers. This thing is awsome. You don't even have to burn songs to the archos with MUSICMATCH.All you need to do is drag and drop your whole music collection and you have it to go.If you don't want it to be orginized, let it be a big huge list but if you do,make files. It's very easy...I have my Kiss,Michael Jackson,Simpsons and Smashing Pumpkins cds on here and I still have a [load] of space on here. I might leave the extra space alone but I might put my Aerosmith cd's on in a little while.I am so happy I didn't need to stick with the yepp.It only holds two cds and a half.TWO CDS!!!Im happy I have this now.It fits right in my pocket and dosen't skip. Also the backlight stays on longer. Not permenent but long...

Summary: pretty darn cool!!!
Review: I just recieved this item as a christmas gift from the world's coolest girlfriend, and I have to say, I'm impressed (with both the product and the girlfriend). At first, the interface wasn't as friendly as I'd hoped it would be. I later discovered that this had less to do with firmware, and more to do with how i had set up the files.

All told, I give this item a big thumbs up. It's only 2 drawbacks are that the headphones it ships with are neither great sounding, nor comfortable, and that I wish the battery life were a little longer.

Summary: little functionality. little more than hard drive w/ battery
Review: This product is poorly designed! It's little more than a hard drive with batteries. Something as simple as organizing mp3 tracks by artist is not available. Or album. That makes organization a nightmare. Archos should not have released this product without better functionality. (Archos's FAQs recommends to organize with folders. Give me a break. What if you want to play by artist one day and album the next and then style the next. That just it's possible.) Archos should update and release improved firmware quickly.

Summary: Much better than I expected...
Review: I asked for an Ipod for Christmas, and got this instead. I was disappointed at first - it's bulky, and not nearly as flash as the Ipod, but after I charged it up and loaded it with all my favorite songs, I'm completely in love with my Jukebox Recorder 10!
The battery does take a while to charge, but it lasts a long time. I played it two to three hours a day, every day last week, and I only had to charge it twice.
It holds a ton of music. I loaded what I thought was a lot, and I'm not even a quarter of the way through the hard drive.
It was simple to hook up - just plug in the USB and drag and drop! My computer recognized it as another hard drive, and I can use it to hold other information too.
The manual leaves a little to be desired, it's not nearly as informative as it could be, but with a little experimentation everything worked out okay.
I haven't had any trouble with the OS, so I can't comment on the unit freezing up or crashing.
I think it's a great little unit - I'm glad Santa didn't waste unnecessary dollars on the Ipod!

Summary: One gripe with this product. You may find it big or small..
Review: I found this product very easy to use. Transfering songs was simple, the capacity allowed the songs to be of the highest quality, while still fitting my entire collection.

The complaint I have with it, is that it skips. Often. Almost every song would skip.

Summary: Totally Rocks!
Review: Ok so by now you have probably heard that it doesnt come with the greatest manual you'll ever see and thats true, but it is very very easy to install and use even without the manual, it took me under 20 mins to have it all set up and ready to rock and roll, I have had it for 8 months now and I havnt experianced any Paint Chipping and Im still using the batteries the sent with it and rehcarging them 1-2 times a week and I'm still getting 6-7 hour charges, I did notice a problem that you cant put regular batteries into it (Duracel) when I tried this it didnt load up it would give me the start screen and power down, The buttons are kinda cheesy but hey if your really picky about how a button feels then this isnt for you, I would give this a 96% rating It is very mobile - Unless you like to run or jog then its a little on the heave side! I havnt had any failures or skipping of songs yet and if you have the connection it will plug and play in just about any audio device (Home Theatre, Car, Stereo) and it has a large screen so you can see a few songs from your list at once instead of just one, and Scrolling through them is a Jiff -- Well I hope this helped and its a really great product!

Summary: Why would you want anything else?
Review: I can't say enough about this product. It has been one of the best electronic "toys" I have bought.

I have put about every song that I would ever want in it from my collection and have only used 5 Gig.

Small enough to fit in your front pants pocket.

You can buy a cassette adapter at [store]and then play all of your favorite tunes, downloaded audio books, ect in your car.

I have not been able to run the batteries to dead yet, but I read that they should last about 8 hours and that this was longer than the other players. Comes with the batteries and a charger.

Comes with head phones and a RCA out cable. The cable can then be hooked to any audio RCA input, say, your stereo, VCR, ect.

You can put your songs in different directories, just like a hard drive (since it is one) and have different directories for country, rock, full albums.

I love to set it on shuffle and play random songs from the directory that it is in.

It shows up on your computer as a hard drive. Just drag and drop your songs to it. It can also store computer files to it just like an extra drive.

If you buy the slightly more expensive recorder version and you have RCA inputs to record in MP3 format on the fly. It also has a built in mic to record audio.

I read all the reviews of all the MP3 players out there and for the price and the size, I think this on is the best out there.

All of your songs in the palm of your hand with the ability to play in head phones, in your car, at your friends house. Very neat item.

Summary: Not an easy to use voice recorder
Review: Original I wanted to buy a good music player on the run for my husband, in addition to it, I could record lecture three times a week. Therefore, I bought both Archos Jukebox Recorder 10 and RipFlash 128mb Digital Recorder.

The look of Arcos is very bulky. This is not my main problem. Not user friendly sound recording is!

With 10 GB, storage is not an issue for any Jukebox type players.
Neither Archos Jukebox Recorder nor Ripflash software is a good file organizer. It is painful to create folders and drag and place it onto the Jukebox harddrive. The Archos Jukebox has one more problem than the Ripflash. When i closed the MusicBox software and disconnected the protable device, an error message saying improper disconnection will cause pc hardware problems..... I guess no one would expect to see such a message after having done everything in great care.

Voice recording

For the Ripflash,I have to admit that the voice recording function is very easy to use and very sensitive, compare to my Archos Jukebox Recorder. Unlike the Archos Jukebox, the Ripflash allocates a new file for voice recording automatically. The Archos one asks for a new name everytime. Otherwise it will either replace your existing 'new song' file or refuse to record. I missed almost 10 minutes lecture because of setting up the Archos. And the battaries ran out within an hour. I was caught in the middle for recording exam tips!

Definetly I will not recommend the Archos Jukebox Recorder for reporters or students alike. As a matter of fact, the RipFlash recorder is a very eligant and handy devise for recorders or students.

Final conclusion: there is no prefect mp3 player!
With almost 90 bucks more, why should i buy Archose Jukebox Recorder10 instead of Archose Jukebox 10 or other Jukebox? I am still considing whether to keep RipFlash because of the unreliable software. I am considering whether to replace it with Creative's Nomad II or Sonicblue Rio 800.

Summary: Great for the price
Review: This unit holds 10 gigs which is more than all of my 120 cd's. I put all my cd's on it, and also put all of my napster songs on it(about 600.) There is still room on this thing for more and if I ever need to I can upgrade for more space. This unit is great. I have to say that it is a little bulky, but the only other player that I saw that held this much was the ipod and for 10 gigs you have to pay more than twice the price(...) and I would also have to install firewire on my pc, which is about 40 for the card and the same to install since I am computer illiterate. I saw a 128 mb mp3 for like ...! This has more than 15 times the space and is ... dollars more. My archos doesn't skip ever though I don't do much running with it(I walk to school but that is all.) The software for the archos is soso, but winamp is a lot better so I use it. The headphones are (cheap) but they generally are, so just use a cheap pair of panasonic or sony headphones for like $... If you are looking to buy an mp3 player I strongly suggest this one.

Summary: Great Gadget
Review: I like this unit a lot. It is small, holds a lot of music and sounds great. I easily get 10 hours from the batteries. ... It is relatively easy to replace the factory batteries if they ever should fail and also to replace the hard drive with a larger unit if you need more capacity.
