Rating: Summary: Excellent, once it is formatted for Windoze Review: Had a little trouble figuring out that the HD had to first be formatted in Windoze. It comes formatted for MAC. (That will be my next purchase.) Once formatted, it is recognized properly by MusicMatch and works extremely well. One might tweak the settings within MusicMatch so that it does not sync each time the unit is connected. A real pain if you only want to recharge it via the cable, which it will do via my fire wire card. The only other issue, with Windoze, is MusicMatch freezes the computer as it reads each CD going in. Does a Mac do this? As for the iPod itself, never thought I would need one until I got one. Now it is a must everywhere I go. Having the capability to listen to my favorite cd's without having the drag a bunch along is wonderful. The sound is better than I expected, at the 128 bit rate. My HD580 Sennheiser's sound great with the unit. The stock ear phones sound good, but do not stay put when moving about. Battery life is about 8 hours or so. With my off/on usage during a day it is more than adequate. No idea if daily charging will shorten the battery life. Hopefully this newer unit will not suffer from the previous versions battery problems.
Rating: Summary: Perfection. Now Available in 10GB Review: I used to think what's the big deal with iPod. But then the newer ones came out and I thought I should check this out. It's the greatest product...in like ten years. No cumbersome CD's. Tons of battery life. Awesome, unbelievably good sound quality. It's just deserts for being a Mac person. I don't do windows. For good reason. So I don't know about those issues. But if you're a Mac person you will fall in love with iPod. Classy, sleek, sexy, works like a dream. Like I said. Perfection.
Rating: Summary: Well worth every penny! Review: The iPod is easily the best purchase I've ever made. I use a mini-dubbing cable to input into my car cd player and I never even think about cd's anymore. I have my whole cd collection in the palm of my hand at all times. I never leave the house without it. If your a big music fan or have an extensive digital music library, you will be sorry if you don't get an iPod. It is simple to use, the sound quality is good, it's very small, and it looks cool too. I take it jogging, with never a skip in the playback. I plug it into my home stereo receiver too. Quite simply the awesomest product in the last 10 years.
Rating: Summary: A true GEM! Review: The ipod is what Sony could only wish for in now lost dreams. I'm blown away with my ipod, it was so easy to firure out I was downloading in about 5 mins. My Sony Minidisc is now sitting in a box, its slow, cumbersome and ugly compaired to the ipod. By the way does any one know of the very POOR Windows software (OpenMG Jutebox) that Sony supplies with the latest Minidisc? It offers nothing for the Mac user but caused so much trouble running on Windows that most gave up on it anyway. Its no wonder Window users are upset with the poor software offered across the board. I do see some happy Window users so it must be workable but know iTunes makes it shine for me. I can only offer my views as a Mac user, you'll love it! As far as the battery goes a new case will be needed if the battery fails, but the seamless case won out. You do NOT thorw your ipod away if the battery fails as some have said in the reviews.
Rating: Summary: Outstanding Review: Windows users need to wait until the software issues are resolved. Mac users, BUY IT NOW ! You can not find anything this good that integrates flawlessly with ITunes 4 (a free download) . The most difficuly thing was finding where Itunes kept the music files. The Itunes folder is found in the follwoing directory: HardDrive\Users\YourName\Music\iTunes If you make an alias to that directory and put it on your desktop, you can dump all your music directly in the iTunes folder. By putting your misic in the iTunes folder, it keeps it all neat and tidy ! Plug in your IPod and it's totally uploaded to the Ipod. What ever you program in iTunes will transfer directly to the iPod.
Rating: Summary: ITS AMAZING Review: Don't listen to people who tell you it doesn't work on Windows. I have a Windows PC and know nothing about computers and i just installed the standard software and it worked like a dream. Musicmatch is a very good media player anyway and works well with the iPod. Not only is it the best MP3 player on the market by miles and miles but it looks great and works easily on windows. I just plugged it in and it instantly downloaded all my music in under 5 minutes. Also, unless you work at a radio station the 10 GB is the best value for money and is smaller aswell. IF YOU WANT AN MP3 PLAYER GET THIS ONE, REGARDLESS IF YOU HAVE WINDOWS OR MAC!!
Rating: Summary: Amazing Review: Quite simply the most amazing blend of form, function and style of anything I have ever seen or held in my hand. Remakable product. Intuitive. Worth the price.
Rating: Summary: The Greatest Music Device Ever! Review: Wowie Wow Wow Wow... This has got to be thee greatest invention in the playing of music files ever. I love the ease of use it provides with the incredible browsing system, which allows me to pin-point a single song. Along with the browsing system, the backlight and glowing buttons allows for ease of use at night. The capacity of its 10 gig hard drive alone is worth the money, and when going on vacation, you can easily take your entire music collection with you; in your pocket! I love carrying my iPod around with me around school, because its so compact, i usually forget its in my pocket. The iPod also provides more attractive features, such as the included games, shuffle, repeat, equalizer, etc.If you are disappointed with the software Apple provides for PC's... try this on for size, BUY A MAC w/ AN iPod!!!
Rating: Summary: very poor windows implementation Review: I Have a good 6-8 hours of effort into getting my brand new 15gb windows ipod to just have a playlsit work. The included MusicMatch software for PC is basically totally broken (and this is confirmed by numerous posts on sites like ipodlounge.com). The standard advice is to go buy another program like xplay since the included software from Apple doesn't work. The problem with the third party programs is that most haven't been updated to work with the latest crop of ipods. ... Not sure if this is apple's way of suggesting that everyone buy a mac ..., but if you are a PC users I suggest looking elsewhere. I am very disappointed ... -H
Rating: Summary: Ipod Review: This is one of the best products of the year. Dont listen to all the bad hype about the music Match all you need is comman sense. Buy this product.
