Summary: The total package (well, almost...)
Review: I reviewed the original Nomad Jukebox two years ago, and gave it 4 stars, though I felt it really deserved 3.5 stars. The sound quality was decent, but the interface was kludgy and the battery life was horrible. But I lived with it, because until now it was the best product out there.

It took Creative a long time, but they finally got it right. I'm listening to Miles Davis right now on it, and Birth of the Cool never sounded so cool. The sound quality [with a good pair of headphones, I use the SportaPros] is indistinguishable from CD quality. Gone is the 'tinny' sound that is so common among even good MP3 players. The sound is every bit as rich as the reviews claim. [I still think that EAX is still a bit gimmicky, but I found the sound setting that works for me, and I ain't changin' it!)

Battery life seems to be about 11 hours, as advertised. I plan to buy a 2nd battery very soon.

As far as the size - it seems to weigh about the same as the original Nomad, but is smaller in diameter. While I can't say the interface is as good as the iPod, it is certainly better than the original Nomad. I jog with an old Rio 500, so the size of the Jukebox 3 is fine for me.

The 'minor' issues:
- Still no carrying case

- No 2nd battery...why, why, why??? Maybe if I send Creative my 2nd set of their useless headphones, they'll send me a 2nd batter for free? ;)

- New button layout is a bit strange, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

But even with those minor (and I do mean minor) issues, the sound and battery life on this thing are great..and so I give it five stars. If you are serious about music, and can afford it, get this unit. You will not regret it.

Summary: Best MP3 jukebox out
Review: The creative nomad jukebox 3 is small enough to take with you anywhere, but has enough hard drive for your entire cd collection, even if you have a very extensive collection. The unit is very easy to use and so is the software used along with it. The eax audio features provide for outstanding listening quality. With the line out jack, it connects very easily into any home stereo system. I have music playing all the time and I haven't had to play a CD in months. My jukebox goes with me on trips, to the gym, my car(w/adaptor)and back to my home stereo. Great all around product. Only complaint would be creatives short lived warranty(90days).

Summary: Creative.... YOU SUCK!!
Review: I remember as soon as I laid eyes on this seemingly magnificant player, I wanted it so bad, I got a part time job and I saved up about 4 weeks worth of pay to get this. The moment I had enough money I went to my local CompUSA to get it, and drove back home. As soon as I franticly tore it out of the package, I did everything the instructions told me to, hook up AC adapter and plug it in the wall, and plug the USB in excetra excetra. Well, the installation took me a few tries because my MP3 player kept shutting down on me, I finally managed to get it to work, I put a few of my CD's I had on it and it worked great... for about a month. Coincidence that Creative's MP3 player would start to f*uck up after it's warranty? I think not. After about of months worth of frustration with the player freezing up, shutting down, and then the USB not even working at all, I decided to send it to their customer service only to find that it was all a gimmik. I sent in the player so they can fix whatever problems it was having, only to have it returned with the EXACT SAME PROBLEMS. Lets face it, Creative is a company of a Creative scheme, not MP3 players, if you want to get a good MP3 player, I would try GoPo RipDrive, this is a great player that won't f*uck up after it's warranty.

Summary: This Player Made it Through the War!
Review: So, I got a Jukebox 3 for Christmas two years ago. Since then, I took it with me backpacking for six months around the world, use it daily at work, take it with me whenever I travel, use it as my home stereo, and generally beat the hell out of it. I've dropped it multiple times on hard surfaces, and exposed it to heat, cold, and almost anything you can think of. I am so impressed with this product and its durability.

Sure, there are some drawbacks to the Jukebox 3. It does not have the stylish look of the Jukebox Zen or an iPod. It is bigger and bulkier than either of these devices. However, in some ways I think that actually works in the Jukebox 3's favor: I feel totally comfortable leaving it sitting around at work, because it basically looks like a cheap CD player. I think of it like inadvertant theft-prevention.

Here are a couple things I dislike. The power button has a stick to it, so I need to wiggle it to make it pop back out again. Not a very well-designed button, but it's a pretty easy thing to deal with. The syncing software freezes up when I try to back up my whole music library. I havn't really figured this one out yet. Those are the only two things keeping me from giving it five stars.

So, I would highly recommend buying this product. For less money than an iPod I feel that I got much more. I have a friend who has an iPod, and the one-way nature of it plus the fact that it does not record drives him absolutely nuts. He is actually jealous of my player!

Summary: Took it all over the world, and it still works
Review: I have read a lot of negative reviews on this system and would just like to add my own Imput. I bought my NJ3 in SEP 02. I took it with me to Afghanistan for 7 months. Afghanistan happens to be the worse place for Electronics in the worlds. Dust and filth... Just Awful. I dropped my player quite a few times. Took it with me on missions. Used it every single day. After 2 years my player still works perfectly. Its worn beyond belief but still works fine. Just letting all of you know these units are as tough as them make them....

Summary: Everything I expected
Review: I've owned my Nomad Jukebox for about 2 years now, and it has served me very well. Whereas the Jukebox 2.0 version was unstable, this unit has caused me no problems whatsoever. The sound quality is good, the interface is intuitive, and the thing just keeps working without a hitch. The battery life is pretty good, as well, which is always a point of contention with portables. Overall, I'd really recommend this unit.

Summary: for the love of god, don't buy it
Review: Bought this product one night before a trip that was to last me 2 weeks. I stayed up until 1:40am in the morning trying to figure out how this product worked, only to end up getting an error message on the player that don't me the hardware was not working. I cannot belive that i wasted an entire friday night trying to figure out this piece of junk. ON a plus side the software that it comes with was excellent at making MP3s.
