Rating: Summary: Bad Bad Quality!!! Review: Cheap build, low voulume output and bas earbuds, a totally unsatisfactory experience!
Rating: Summary: Didn't work Review: Got one for Xmas. Didn't work out of the package. Now I have to go through the WHOLE RETURN BY MAIL PROCESS to get a refund. It will be 7-14 days before I get my money back and can buy some other brand. You had your chance, TDK.
Rating: Summary: Where are the reviews Review: I don't see the 2 reviews it mentions giving this unit 2 stars?
Rating: Summary: TDK wins again Review: I recently got my TDK Mojo player as a gift and have found it to be a wonderful device. Even better, the TDK online support center is #1 in a world dominated by horrible customer service.Pros: -Has very good ear bud volume level, esp compared to other players -size is great, easy to pocket (and loose); great for working out -AAA bat power last pretty long, about 8+ hours with medium writing/file transfer -easy to lean file system/options -great connection/sound quality -customer service is great. just go to TDK's site. Cons - feels VERY plastic-y , that is, not solid feeling, i would not be concerned dropping it, or putting it in a bookbag or somthing, but wouldnt want to step on it. -I have windows XP Pro, fully updated, but my computer did not recognize it as a drive (due to USB card i have, is what i am told). On a whim, i installed the win 98 drivers, and it sprang to life. I checked with TDK via the online chat support, and they confirmed that it was a usb bus thing, and shouldnt be too common. All that only took about 3 mins... so not really much of a con. Hope this was helpful.
Rating: Summary: Covers all basic needs Review: If you're looking for a cheap alternative then Mojo is the right choice. I was looking for a MP3 player that was light and small and I didn't want to spend too much on it since I'm hoping to get an iPod soon. All other alternatives I had seen were too expensive to be worthwhile or didn't have a screen. How can you buy an MP3 player in which you don't know what's playing??!!?? this small player has an incredible amount of information, it's incredibly small, includes interesting functions and works with drag and drop like a breeze. Battery life is 12 hours as promised. The cons are basically the headphones (better use your own) and I found the maximun volume a bit low. All in all, it's definetly an excellent choice (you can use it as a pen drive if you get tired of the MP3 functions)
Rating: Summary: Firmware Upgrade??? Review: It worked great, until one day it didn't, and I can't read the error message, and I get no help from tech support. I tried to download the firmware upgrade, but it was nowhere to be found.
All in all, it is a good MP3 player for the prize (as long as it works), and it doubles as a portable storage device.
Also, I am not a big fan of the cable connection. It means cerrying the cable around if you want to use it as a flash drive, and make sure you don't lose it.
Rating: Summary: Covers all basic needs Review: Ok I wasn't expectin FM on this since this model is inexpensive. It has good sound to boot, and the orange color does attract attention. I just wish it had USB 2 not the older, slower USB 1 technology. Otehrwise I'm a happy user.

Rating: Summary: MP3 players, the difference between hard drive n flash mem. Review: Okay. Here is a write up, that I did, on the comparisons/contrasts on MP3 players. Mainly, the Harddrive versions (I.E. Rio Riot/Apple IPOD -both of which I own) and the flash memory type... (I.E. Memorex 3642 Mp3 Player, of which I own as well). What prompted this little jaunt (of which you may send to as many people as you like) My (expensive) Apple IPOD died during a sync last month. Just me copying files over to it, and the battery ran out of juice. I would have not attempted to copy music had I known the battery was low, but the battery read FULL STRENGTH. Anyhoo, I called Apple, they said return it for maintenance. I did. Sent it back. They returned it, still broke. To my suprise, there is only a TEN DAY return policy. TEN DAYS. I did not realize this at all... and will not ever buy another apple product. So, after a month or so of messing around trying to find another MP3 player... I decided to go with a flash memory MP3 player, the ones that use memory sticks. SO, here are the pro and cons of these devices. Pro's for the Memory Stick Mp3 players -Cheaper. WAY CHEAPER than Hard drive types. -If you go into music match and file convert to MP3 Pro and shrink the size of your MP3 to like, say 3o percent... you can really make a good Kompression. Example. My Memorex MP3 player has 32mbs of memory on board. It is expandable to 256mb. 32 mb will basically let you put one cd's worth of music. It is easy to put music on and off of them, due to your computer reading the USB as just another hard drive, so you drag and drop to put on, delete them to take them off. But, after you shrink your files to MP3 Pro 30 percent, you can put twice as many. So, basically a 256mb chip will allow me to put 208 songs on my little less than palm size MP3 player. And it wieghs like 3 ounces. - More on memory. These little chips are the size of the upper part of your thumb, at least my thumb anyway. They come in 128mb, 256mb, 512mb and even though there aren't any MP3 machines out there to handle them YET, you can even buy a 1.5gig thumb size chip thingy. Considering the size of the chips and the shrinking kompression I told you about earlier, I could shrink my whole KOLLEKTION down to 10 of those 1.5gig chips. At the current shrink rate I am at 5 DVD's, which are way bigger and more fragile than these little chips. - Not as fragile as hard drive type. You can drop one of these chips and not scratch it. I wouldn't stomp on one with my foot, nor get one in water, but they are encased in plastic. Ruggedish. - Batteries last for like two days. There isn't much going on here, no moving parts, no laser or hard drive to put power to. Most of these flash Memory types have a single AA battery. I use a rechargeable type, so we are talking very low cost here. In comparison to the hard drive types, where you will get a solid 8 hours of playing, this really whupps up. - Size. Small. Very small. Mine is three inches by three inches. A square. But, you can get smaller ones. And the memory chips that go in them are the same ones you use for your camera. And you can put files on them. If you want to put a word doc on your memory chip, you can. Your Mp3 won't recognize it, but it is nifty storage. COMPARISON/CONTRAST - Size does matter. In the case of hard drive Mp3 players... lets face it, you can, if you so chose to, put a library of congress on these monsters. They are the caddilacs of the hand held devices, and guzzle batteries like gasoline. But when it comes down to it, size is the only thing they have going for them. I don't mean to downplay the hard drive types, but don't drop them, don't shake them, and after shelling out $499 to Apple you might consider insurance. Apple doesn't care about you or your apple after 10 days of ownership. - Price/Komparison. IPOD ran me $499 bucks. My memorex MP3 player ran me 45 dollars. The 128 memory chip runs you 50 bucks. Owch. There really isn't a comparison to the two. The memory stick Mp3 players just kick ? on this issue. And, you get MORE than a ten day return policy, since you buy these things at Target/Wal Mart etc... So, that is my review in a nutshell
Rating: Summary: Pretty good but only 128mb Review: Pros: + small and cute, you can put it on a keychain, or hang it from your neck. orange color really makes it stand out! (a large pouch is included in the package in case you need one) + surprisingly good sound. i found this on sale plus a mail-in rebate, so i wasn't expecting much, but the sound quality pleasantly surprised me. there isn't much bass (even in bass mode - see next item), but otherwise the sound is pleasing, and can get very loud. + simple EQ. 6 levels: normal, jazz, pop, rock, bass, and user-defined (which just lets you adjust bass and treble). you'll need to get into the navigation menu (by holding down the Select button) to get to these settings, but as you go through each level, the sound changes in real time to let you know! very cool, considering many more expensive mp3 players don't give you this. + very easy to set up. i just took it out of the box (hard to cut open, though), inserted the one AAA battery, turned it on, hooked it up to my windows 2000 laptop, and it showed up on the pc as an external storage drive. just drag and drop the mp3 files. no driver needed for windows 2000, windows xp, and mac. + yeap, mac-compatible. + sharp lcd display, and shows lots of information: volume (0-100), memory usage (%), track title, elapsed time and total time for track, battery status, etc. + includes repeat A<->B mode! many high-end players don't even have this. + dedicated hold button, just like on your walkman or discman. many high-end players don't have this, either! + wma compatible. must be non-copy-protected wma, though. so you can't buy music from walmart and play it. + navigation menu easy to use once you get the hang of it. + lots and lots of features for something so small and simple. just amazing. Cons: - does not play copy-protected wma - skimpy manual, but at least it's in good english - navigation menu seems confusing at first. - non-expandable memory (116MB as reported by windows) Other comments: > no software provided; you can download windows 98 driver and free desktop player on tdk's website > use your own earphones, of course > not sure about how durable this is. tdk is a japanese (?) brand, but player made in china > seriously, it's really cute Verdict: i think this is a good value, probably as a secondary mp3 player (e.g., when you want to listen to your favorite music when sitting on the toilet and don't want to drop your ipod into the abyss) or for kids and that girlfriend who really doesn't listen to a lot of music beyond britney spears.
