Summary: Defective
Review: My Nomad II-C MP3 player was defective right out of the box, I shipped it back to Creative for an RMA and they signed for my player on Feb 19. It is still sitting on the "tech" bench right now, 6 weeks later. I call almost everyday and they tell me that their testing department has had problems, they will test my player as soon as the department is up and running again!!

I will never purchase another Creative product again.

Summary: Horrible
Review: The support software was extremely cumbersome and downright painful to use. Although it claims to have 128kb of memory, it held less than ten songs. ...

Summary: Best Product!
Review: This is by far the best Mp3 player I have used. It took me about 30 minutes to orient myself to its controls, but I already feel at home with it! The menu is great and easy to navigate, and the sound is excellent! I give this product 5 stars! I would give it more, but Amazon.com won't let me! : ) The only downside to this product is the fact that there is no AM/FM radio on it, but I will live. If you are debating over this and another product, GET THIS ONE!!

Summary: No problems!
Review: After researching MP3 players extensively online,[...] I was looking for something w/ at least 128 MB, to record a couple of hours or so of music, and very lightweight so he could use it to work out. [...] I gave up, did some more hunting around, and got the Nomad. There were absolutely NO problems here w/ software, music downloaded easily, volume was good, and my husband has loved it ever since for his workouts and has no complaints. It just ended up seeming much more user-friendly!

Summary: Worked for about 5 minutes
Review: I purchased this MP3 player because of the good reviews on consumer report and the reviews here on Amazon[.com]. Unfortunately I have to give it the lowest rating. When I first got it I tried the voice recording and it worked fine, although it wasn't very clear and the recording level was low. (Also, the voice files were NVF format, which cannot play on any other software and cannot be converted to MP3 or WAV or anything else)Then I tried to download music and it just wouldn't work. An device "error" would always occur. Then the menu screen would freeze and I couldn't choose any of the icons and it wouldn't turn off without removing the batteries. And when plugged to the computer a USB/PC screen would appear, the when you unplug it, the screen would remain. You'd have to remove the batteries to turn it off.

Summary: No disappointments here
Review: I have been very pleased after 2 months with this product. Small size, light weight. I have dropped it twice while running, continues to function perfectly. I changed the included behind the head earphones because they did not stay on me while running nor fit inside my motorcycle helmet. Volume is good. Setting 12 running, 15-18 on motorcycle depending on my speed. Included software very easy to understand and use. Rips songs very quickly. No complaints. All products should be this good.

Summary: Missing a good belt clip, but I fixed that
Review: After reading several reviews, including the wealth of information here, I decided on this player. I use the player mostly while I'm running. The headphones that came with it are fine, but big. I use a pair of Sony earbud type headphones that are more discrete. Volume is fine and I've even noticed aspects of some songs that I've never noticed before! The one drawback that several people complained about was the poor belt clip and how many times they dropped their player. I can see why. I fixed the problem by sticking a strip of Velcro (hook side) to the inside of the belt hook. This provides enough of a surface to catch on a belt or the waist of my running gear. I have never dropped my player once. Also there is no armband with the unit, but I easily made one with some wide elastic and Velcro to hold the strap on my arm. I can then hook my (modified) belt clip onto the armband and I'm set! So despite some of its shortcomings for carrying the unit, these are easily fixed. Overall, I'm very impressed.

Summary: Good quality difficult to install
Review: I typically am very good and assembling/installing software etc. This one takes the cake! The directions for installation were not very thorough. If you are not very knowledgable about computers, you will have a hard time but once installed, how sweet it is! The sound quality is great and it is very easy to use. I recommend this player for first time users. Good product for the price.

Summary: Good while it lasted
Review: Seems like there are a lot of defective ones out there....Mine worked great until I had to change the battery. After that, it never worked again! I'm in the return process.

Summary: F Y I
Review: Great stuff as stated below. Here are a few problems.

-No AC plug in to recharge batteries
-Not USB powered (you use batteries when you up/download)
-The recording quality is not the best. Alot of background noise.. that's a real bummer. To get clarity you have to be close.
Creative Labs, why in the world did you not make a LINE IN? and why did you put the tiny microphone on the front of the machine?
Hmmm. Something to think about.
