Summary: Great Little Player
Review: I purchased this player after a lot of research. I wanted something lightweight for running. This player is great! The sound quality is excellent. I use my own headphones because I do not like earbuds, however, the quality of the earbuds is very good. The belt clip works wonderfully, I have not had a problem. I have not used the armband. I like the player so much I listen to it in my car! I had no trouble with the music software. I was up and running w/ in minutes. I would highly recommend purchasing this product.

Summary: Great Performance and Great Design
Review: Sounds great! I couldn't believe how easy the set up was. This was my first time using an MP3 player and I did not even need to use the manual to set up and start downloading. Earbuds are high quality with incredible depth and range. Very cool design with earbuds integrated into the neck cord. Not much bigger than a tube of Lib Balm. Also has this great arm band attachment which really holds up as you exercise. Easy to read and use display window. Nicely backlit in blue. Highly reccomend this for yourself or as a gift.

Summary: A Runner's Dream
Review: I've got the 128MB version of this little gem, so it is remotely possible that some of the things have changed besides memory, but I don't think so.

Usability:
You know the small pocket in the front of running shorts? The one where you put your key? This baby will fit right into it. It is smaller than it looks in the picture.

I ditched the ear buds that came with this unit and got some Radio Shack earbuds with volume control. You can then thread the cord under your shirt, and right into your ears. Now you've got NO bouncing or odd weights anywhere to throw off your stride. Plus, you don't have that 'phones cord around your neck which can get irritating after 10 miles or so. The stock buds are too short to put the unit in shorts pocket and then around your neck (theirs is necklace style), a serious flaw in my opinion. Around the neck or strapped on the arm (both things included) do not really get the job done, so a longer cord would be nice for those people who want to stick with the provided buds. My wife (she doesn't run) loves the "stock" earbuds, and clips the player to her shirt. In that instance the short cord is ok.

Sound:
Sound quality of their buds are GREAT, as is the sound quality of the unit. It is amazingly good in fact.

Controls:
The pause button on the front is great for when you are at the gym and someone wants to talk to you. You don't need to look at it to find it. Skip forward and back are easy to get to; almost too easy, since you can brush against it and go forward or back. Luckily, it's got a little slide button to "freeze" controls if you are really active.

Power:
It only takes one AAA battery, which is great. If you get some NiMh rechargables, you are set. The battery level indicator can't be trusted with rechargables. If you go for a long run, start with a fresh battery, or slip an extra into the little pocket alongside the player. I play mine with the volume all the way up (I like it loud) and even though it is a single battery, it lasts quite well.

File types:
128MB version Plays MP3 only, and will not UPLOAD MP3, presumably to avoid using them to share music. This unit, the 256MB WILL ALSO play WMA files according to another reviewer. I don't really care if it uploads at all really. I just dump music into it. Will download and upload other file types though, as long as you use their software to do it. Not a substitute for those little USB drives.

Memory:
You can re-order the songs at will with the software while in the player's memory. One thing that is NOT good; if you turn it off or pause it and it auto-offs, it will NOT start at the exact same place INSIDE THE SONG you were. It will start at the beginning of that song. That's fine unless you are listening to one big audio book or something, in which case you will go insane. Also, keep it set so that it will play through the cycle one time, then pause. Otherwise, you can kill a battery by accident.

Package:
Comes with software and USB cable; everything you need to play MP3s. Get FreeRip to rip your CDs to MP3 (can I say that?) and you are all set.

Reliability:
My wife and I each have had one for over a year. I've beaten mine up pretty badly (the player, not the wife), and it still works perfectly.

So, 128MB or 256 MB? More is better. Get this one, although Amazon does have the 128MB one at a nice price I see. Since I have some criticisms above, you're wondering why the five stars? Because it does what I need it to, and does it well. Great music quality in a lightweight unit.

Anyway, ROCK ON!

Summary: Works great!
Review: I have had this MP3 player for over a year and have had no complaints! It's great for the gym - clips on to my shirt and is super light. The only problem is that I used it so much I broke the plastic clip and can't seem to find anywhere to get a new one.

Summary: Buyer Beware
Review: I have a different MP3 from this company, but I need to warn anybody considering a purchase from Digitalway. My MP3 failed within 6 weeks - customer service is impossible to get a hold of, even more difficult to understand than the User Manual, and unwilling to send the return/repair forms. The 120 day warranty is worthless.

Summary: Small & eassy to use
Review: Immediate plug-n-play on a Mac: drag and drop files from iTunes - what could be easier? No software to install. Batteries last forever. Headphones are better than I expected. Perfect for the gym. Just what I'd been looking for.

Summary: Not a replacement for a USB Drive
Review: This product makes an OK player, there are certain features I didn't like at all and I wished that some reviewers were more honest about those, First you cannot transfer MP3 Files from one computer to another, Second it requires a proprietary software to load music and files it is not a plug and play device that acts like a USB Drive. Third, not only you have to carry a CD with the program but a special USB cable for this device. The things I like were the back light feature and the AAA battery usage and the ease of operability as MP3 Player. It is an MP3 player designed for sport fans not Hi tech toy consumers that crave for multiple functionality items.

Summary: For working out, running or exercising: Perfect.
Review: I bought one of these from another website before Amazon had them. When I got it I thought it seemed a little light. In-other-words it didn't seem to have that "heft" that most electronics have. I've now had this unit for about two to three years and it has been nothing short of perfect. I use it primarily to work out and run and stuff and could not ask for anything better. The new software that you can download for transfering files and stuff is easy and doesn't have a bunch of proprietary stuff with it. Buy a brick of AAA batteries at Costco and just plunk them in and out (this is better than rechargeables trust me). Holds just enough music so that I can mix and match stuff. And it's a great price on Amazon. No problems, light and easy to use. I use a pair of great Sony MDR E888 headphones too and the sound quality is as good as my old Sony SPORT Discman. Just buy it.

Summary: happy after 1 year
Review: I've had the mpio-dmk for a year now and am very happy. I still have yet to see a better workout mp3 player. The clip attachment works well. One bad thing was the track advancer broke a week ago, but I find its not a big deal for me. I also use the fpio freeware rather than the mpio software and it is much much better. Can now use it as a flash drive, nice compatibility with all media players.

Summary: Not the best player on the market
Review: This was my first mp3 player and it definately was not a good choice. Here's why:

When I purchased this player I was under the impression that it played both mp3s and windows media audio files. That is not the case, it only plays mp3s according to the company's website, despite the fact that the box bears the 'Plays Windows Media' logo and it is advertised as having a 'Windows Media Plugin'. The reason it is important that a player utilize wma files is because they take up half the space of a mp3 file so you are able to fit twice as many songs on the player.

The case of the player feels very weak and the button that is used to skip tracks is very cheap, it feels as if it is going to break when you touch it.

If you are looking for a quality mp3 player I would recommend the iRiver T180 or the Creative MuVo. They are both much better players and are only about twenty dollars more.
