Review: This is the coolest thing I ever bought. I didnt think it would be so easy to use. You just pick a song and within seconds its on your mp3 player. Its very light and fits perfectly. I used to never listen to the radio, but thanks to the mpio I listen to it all the time. Theres nothing wrong with it. I strongly recomend it. SO EASY TO USE.

Summary: Excellent MP3 player with Voice recorder, FM, & SD slot
Review: I found this player for $... US on Amazon.com and at that price there really was no comparison for all the functionality. I tried the iRiver 390T first ($...), but returned it because it couldn't pickup most stations on the FM receiver. So far the MPIO can pick up about 90% of the stations my car can get.The included headphones are fine for the average consumer, although they were a bit too big for my ears. Some reviewers have complained about weak bass, but most audiophiles won't be using them anyway. The player sounds great with my Sony MDR-V600 headphones, but also sounds nice with my Sony $20 in the ear sport model. The unit does pick up smudges/fingerprints easily, but it's so cool looking and small you won't care. It's easily the smallest player on the market today. Pretty solid construction except for the USB cover which seems a little thin. The software gets the job done. You won't be using it as a replacement for Windows Media Player however. The plugin for Windows Media Player works well for copying music, but I couldn't use it to create new folders. If they fix that I won't use the MPIO software at all (except for firmware upgrades.) Be sure and update the software and firmware to the latest when you get the unit. The CD was an interation behind. Voice recorded works well. Great for taking quick notes for those of us advancing in our years quicker than we would like. Updates to other reviews:
- The much maligned case has been fixed! It's actually quite nice. No need to cut wholes or anything. It has a belt clip, and comes with a wrist strap and also a neck strap (with detachable clip.) - Also, the USB cable is easily replaced, just get the 4-pin mini-USB not the slightly more common 5-pin. Still easy to find. Overall I'm very pleased with this model. Add a 256MB SD card (only $... at COSTCO) and you've got a lot of CD's in a really small player. Enjoy!

Summary: Excellent player
Review: The sound is really great, and also the LCD menus. It has a lot of functionality and customizations.
The upload time is pretty fast and the capabilities to store subfolders and aditional files info is great.
The only thing i didn't like it is the case: The MP3 player front is very beautiful and silver, but the case is all black so the player can't be seen. And also the problem mentioned about the case pressing the volumen button all the time. (It can be solved with a little scissors anyway ;) )

Summary: Whispers sweet nothings in your ears
Review: Storing 100 of your favorite songs on a device that's the size and weight of half a deck of cards is pretty amazing. Unfortunately, the quality of sound of the MPIO is far inferior to your standard MP3-playing portable cd player. There is simply no bass to this device, so whether or not you enjoy or appreciate the lower-frequency instruments in music (i.e. bass guitar & drums for starters), you won't hear them from the MPIO FL100. Imagine turning the "bass" dial on your stereo or walkman all the way to the left - that's probably better than what the MPIO sounds like. I bought the FL100 to avoid having to carry a portable cd player and its heavy recharger plug with me on vacations. For that purpose, the FL100 is a wonderful product. You can wear it on your arm while running, or in your pocket or on your belt buckle at other times, and it's hardly noticeable. It's very neat looking, and despite the slight miscalculation by the company in making the carrying case, it's still quite handy. But the device was just too painful for me to listen to. Don't get me wrong, the clarity of music was excellent, at least at lower volumes. But, as soon as you leave the quiet house or apartment and take to the streets (not an airplane or subway - but just the city streets), the sound deteriorates like a sugar cube immersed in warm water. My advice is, if you don't mind bass-less music, and you intend to use this product in mostly quiet areas, you'll probably enjoy it. But if you're into the sound quality of music, buy something with a little more power than a single AAA battery. Oh, and one other thing - the device seems very fragile, and I don't know how long it will last. It has a "spring loaded" navigation button that doesn't always move the way you want it to move, and that feels like it could break very easily if you push a little too hard.

Summary: Great mp3 player, with battery life the only shortcoming
Review: This is a great mp3 player if you looking for something small. It's the size of a cigarette lighter, and very lightweight. It's price is competitive with other 256mb players, and the FM radio is a nice feature. Older reviews on this player have noted that the carrying case has a piece of plastic over the volume button which you have to cut off in order to get the volume to work in the carrying case. UPDATE: the player I received this week appears to be from a newer batch and they corrected the problem with the leather carrying case - it now has a nice slot for the volume button. The software interface isn't ideal. You can't mount the player as a USB drive as you can with some other players, and you can't download mp3s off of your player because of "international copyright law." Basically that just means if you record from the radio, you can't get it on your computer unless you just record from the player's audio output (using a patch cable).
On the other hand, the advantage to this player is that there is a well supported (by open source developers) Linux software for it that even allows you to download mp3s off the player. The player comes preset with some default settings that I recommend changing. The equalizer is preset to "FLAT." I find that Rock or Dynamic Bass sound better. The battery life of course does not live up to the 10 or 12 hours they claim it gets. I've been getting more like 5 or 6 hours, which is disappointing. But I can live with it - I may just buy AAA rechargeables.
I would give this 4 1/2 stars but that's not an option, so it's getting 4, only because of the short battery life (which is not a huge deal anyway).

Summary: big sound in little package
Review: Received this player on Friday and was excited to use it per the reviews here on amazon. Took a while to set up manager software since I installed it while cable wuz connected to PC (shouldn't have), so had to re-install software. Then it worked like a charm! Volume is strong, but had to cut a hole in the case to control the volume (if not, the case is so tight it pushes the volume knob skyyyy high!). Had to cut another hole for access to the menu button. Only downside was the wristband is not as useful as an armband would be. Try this MP3 player, you will enjoy this big sound in a little package.

Review: I purchased the MP3 player for my husband. It has all the features that I need. Plus it is loud enough. However, I cannot use smart media card. You can only use secured media card.

Review: that hasn't already been said. Great player. Easy to use. FM works nicely. The only bad thing is the case, but thats not a big deal at all. Best value I've found. Iriver and Iaudio are nice, but you can't expand the memory. Excellent!

Summary: Excellent MP3 player!!
Review: After a lot of searching I finally decided on this mp3 player. Like others I was skeptical of the lesser known brand but I am very thankful I took the chance. This is absolutely a dream. The controls are very easy to understand and the software installed on XP with a breeze. I had it out of the box, loaded with Mp3's within 10 minutes. A plesant surprise was the belt clip. The plastic around the volume button needed to be stretched out a bit, but afterwards I had no problems with changing the volume.
