Rating: Summary: Really Nice little gem - better than IPOD on some areas Review: I was really adamant to get an IPOD as my digital music player. I've been wanting it for quite sometimes. Then the news on IPOD problems with its battery start popping everywhere on the net. This made me rethink my decision on getting an IPOD. Here's my plus points on getting an IPOD: 1. Music Quality 2. Design 3. User InterfaceThe Minus Point: 1. Defective battery 2. Concern about the battery lifespan after prolong use 3. Battery life when playing music non-stop made this player not really desirable for long international travel. As you can see most of the concern is with the battery. Granted you can have apple replace the battery for free after a lot of people voice their concern to apple. If you are going overseas with your IPOD - this battery problem is moot point for an expensive player such as IPOD. The battery puke, you are screwed. So then I searched for an alternative. And I found this MPIO FL100 512MB. After looking at the spec and it's design I decide just to take a plunge and just get it. After using it for a few days. Here are my impressions on it: 1. This thing is small! 2. Did I mention Small? And quite sleek looking. 3. Have a SD/MMC slot- you can add more storage on it! which is a plus. 4. USB V1.1 - should've been USB2.0 but doesnt really bother me. The download speed is quite good. 5. Sound quality is on par with IPOD - but then again my ears is not audiophile ears 6. Battery - only need 1 AAA for about 11hrs of playtime - the manufacturer stated it can play up to 14hrs on single battery- but I guess it depends on the battery itself. It's much better than IPOD since if the battery runs out - just toss it away. I especially hate the mini ipod - if the battery dies - that mini ipod become an expensive paper weight. 7. Support under windowsXP is very good. I can just use windows media player9 to download the musics. 8. User interface is not as bad as I thought it would be. It's quite intuitive. 9. Come with an earphones, leather case, cd-rom for the software, handstrap, battery included, usb cable and user guide.
Rating: Summary: Sorprendente..
Rating: Summary: mpio fy200 256k Review: Pretty little gadget that froze up and shut down my XP machine after two weeks. Subsequent download/install of latest "firmware" didn't cure terminal "please wait..." message. It was nice while it lasted. English web site written by non-English speakers. Thank goodness I saved the receipt. You think after so many disappointments I'd learn my lesson about products from this particular country...but I'm a sucker for a lowball price.
Rating: Summary: MPIO Support non-existent Review: I really enjoyed my first month with the MPIO FY-200, a very similar model to the MPIO FL100. The unit was small, had good sound quality, and worked well overall. However, once I upgraded the firmware to allow the device to be used as a USB mass storage device, there was no going back (literally). The player could no longer function as an mp3 player, only as a mass storage unit. Myself, and many other disgruntled customers, contacted customer service via phone and e-mail. There was no e-mail response and during the phone call a secretary took my contact information and I was never contacted. I would consider buying from another Company if you expect any customer support.
Rating: Summary: Great Review: As with other users, I was hunting for an mp3 player for the gym. I did research online, and then went to stores and did a hands on check of the models before buying this. This unit is MUCH more sturdy then any of the similar models I checked out in the $179-200 range (Canadian). This unit is at the top end of that scale, but it also includes a voice recorder, FM tuner, and plays more formats. PROS -It works great with a Mac running 10.3 -It has a lot more features then expected -Seems much more durable then similar models -They may have revised the manual since earlier reviews, because it seem understandable and quite detailed to me. -Sounds great. I am looking forward to checking it out with better headphones. -I can fit 30 songs on it at medium to high bitrates which is perfect for the gym. If I need more memory I can get a card. CONS -While it's more durable then other models, it's still doesn't seem as sturdy as I would like. I don't undertand why they can't construct these units better for the price. -I personally don't like earbud headphones. These seems like nice ones though. These units are still expensive when you compare $ to memory.
Rating: Summary: Excellent MP3 player and Radio Review: After reading a lot of reviews I went for the MPIO player. My two biggest requirments for the MP3 player were to have an FM radio and to be expandable through SD-Ram cards. The FM radio on the FL100 sounds fine, has a ton of presents, and is easy to use. The look and form factor of the player are exceptional. The case fits the player well and clips snug on to a belt or pocket. The battery might not be as good as some, but overall I am 100% happy with the player.
Rating: Summary: Awesome MP3 Player!!!!!!! Review: This Mp3 Player is the bes on the market, and its cheap. It has everything. It plays mp3, u can listen to the radio, and its a recorder. the sound quality is great. And the FM reception is awesome. I live in the woods and while i was sittin outside i got New York stations as well as local stations. Also u can record wat u are listening to on the radio Also it was really easy to set up. it took me only like 10 minutes. U just pop the CD in and download wat it tell u to and ur ready to go. The only downside is the battery length. Its average but for a device that only takes one triple A battery it doesnt last very long. The secure Digital card slot is a plus to. u can put so much memory on this little machine. But other than that its the best MP3 player on the market for its price.
Rating: Summary: AWESOME Review: This player is awesome. The reason i rated this a 4 out of 5 is beacause the instructions were a little vague. It was my mistake to think it would work with itunes. i have itunes 4.1 and it only has a plugin for itunes 4. Oh well, it works great with real player and once you get it figured out it is very east to use.
Rating: Summary: A great mp3 player! Review: I must say that I wanted an iPod for Christmas, but I didn't realize the problems that came with it. Thank goodness my husband did a great amount of research before purchasing another mp3 player, because I definitely did not want something that would skip, and from what I have heard, the iPod does that a great deal. This MPIO mp3 player is perfect, I think. Even though it has many different functions, it is extremely easy to use. I'm still finding out what it does!
