Review: I have to admit...I didn't pay attention to the negative comments posted here by other buyers of the Nomad II Player so I ended up being disappointed and exchanged it for a Nomad II MG Player immediately. First of all, be forwarned that it is really next to impossible getting the battery cover off the back of the player once the SmartMedia card is in. The SmartMedia card is socketed right underneath the tab where it holds the battery cover so it prevents you from pushing the tab in to release the cover. A couple of times, I thought I broke the cover after hearing a large crack while forcing the cover off. Poor design on Creative's part, I must say. Secondly, the "Play" button sometimes worked, and sometimes it didn't...maybe I got a faulty unit or something. Some other faults of the Nomad II are:1. No internal memory--the Nomad II MG has 64MB of internal memory built in. 2. MG is packaged with better/updated software. 3. Rechargable battery and docking station are not included--you have to buy it seperately, whereas both is included with the MG. 4. Easy to lose the rubber padding that protects the metal contacts for the optional docking station. 5. Bigger than the MG. The only saving grace of this player is that a Belt clip is included with the player, and there's a wired remote attached to the headphones. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the hassle of having to return this player...Get the MG instead!!!

Summary: Very Pleased! (Mac Software included!)
Review: I have multiple computer platforms at home (Mac/PC) and between the 2 the Mac works the best. The PC locked up on installation. Plus its' software is slower and more cumbersome to use. In the spec's it says TBA for Mac's, well it comes with SoundJam MP plus! BONUS! FYI, I am not a PC basher, this was just my experience with the software that came with the player. As for the player itself, it is truly a well built! I enjoy it so much I take it everywhere. If I did have a compliant about it, it would be about the amount of memory. It will only allow you to use a one 64Mb card at a time. So I bought an extra card and now I have 2 hours plus of music to listen to (2x64Mb), it just means you have to switch them.

Summary: THE BEST SO FAR
Review: This is one of the best MP3 players. The sound quality is great like all true MP3 players it never skips & the volume is nice too. The headphones feel great, the bass and treble can be changed to your liking, the wire is way too short, even with the remote, but the remote is great and handy. The player is held easily held and navigated with just one hand. Its VERY nice looking. The transfer rate is fast. With 64mb You can fit about an hour(not two hours like it says at nomadworld.com) of CD quality music,using .wma(windows media audio) you can fit about two hours. Only complaints that I have are that it dosn't come with onboard memeory, you can only have a maximum of 64mb of memory, the main menu is hard to navigate at times, and that the display is green although it works fine. They aren't real problems, I'm just picky. The FM radio is good but its not as clear as a car radio at times. The voice recorder is very handy and you can have a five minute message with just 1mb. If you are planing to get it, its a good idea to get the NOMAD II DOCKING STATION, its not nessary at all but it nice and easy to hook up your NOMAD II and even comes with a rechargable battery. Overall its the best MP3 player for the money, delivering great sound, looks, and extras. If you got some questions about the NOMAD II feel free to e-mail me. I'll try to answer it.

Review: ive have owned a nomad 2 mg since christmas i then lost mine and dont feel like paying for another one so i baught the nomad 2 it is a great mp3 player.if u liked this deflinetly get the nomad 2 mg it is 3 times better then the nomad 2) overall this is a great product

Summary: A True Disappointment
Review: I have no one to blame but myself for not doing adequate research on the Nomad II before purchasing the device. There is no question that the sound quality of the Nomad II is very good indeed, but there are some very serious technical problems with the gadget: the SmartMedia slot, for example, is found INSIDE the battery compartment; this means that often, the battery itself gets in the way when trying to remove the card, and unlike my previous player (The Rio 300), it was difficult to remove the SmartMedia card in the dark, insert a new one, and replace the battery cover. Considering that the Nomad II has no built-in memory and relies solely on the SmartMedia cards, I found the inconvenient location of the card slot to be very poorly conceived. Also, as the Amazon review does point out, the menu system was not exactly painless to navigate. The weight of the Nomad II is slightly heavier than other MP3 players - this is neither a criticism nor praise, just some information, as this prefference will vary from user to user. Unlike the Amazon review, I will not review the software bundle that was included with the Nomad II; I don't find this part of the package relevevant since MP3 software is utterly abundant, and i you don't like what is include in your box, you can simply download a different set of tools from a different company. Overall, the NOmad II did what Creaitve Labs claims it does, but with so many players out there that are more practical, I can not recommend this one.

Review: i was very excited to get the player, but it broke after only 3 uses. i sent it back for a replacement. very cool technology. the headphones (unless you attach the remote) dont have enough slack. way too short of a wire. sound quality was good. overall a good player

Review: The Nomad II is a pretty well made MP3 player. There are many pros, and a few cons. Pros -Very Small -Very light -Easy to use software -Sound is very good -Radio Gets fairly good reception -Sending files to the Nomad II only takes about 10secs (5MB) -Backlight is very bright -Remote is great -Battery lasts a long time Cons -I don't care what the product review says, the headphones arn't very good, you can't lean your head back and be comfortable -Screen can be a bit hard to navigate *Having no internal space for music leaves you stuck with about an hour worth of music* Overall I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quality MP3 player.

Summary: Defective Player despite great features
Review: The Creative Lab's Nomad II has the best features available for an mp3 player of its size. The LCD player, despite current reviews, is only unwieldy if you have impaired motor skills. For the rest of the "normal" world, its no problem. The voice recording is great for students and the FM radio, as well as its small size and remote control feature is great for joggers. Despite all of these great features, the Nomad II player that I got for Christmas was broken the day that I opened it. The screen freezes up every single time that I use it- usually within the first few minutes of play, and then there is no sound. I have to remove the batteries, then plug them back in and restart the whole thing before it begins to work again. Although a great deal of "creative" thought went into this player, Creative Labs obviously skimped on the quality control. Should have bought a Sony.

Summary: Great Mp3 player
Review: I recently got this mp3 player for christmas and all the bad things people are saying arent necessarly true. ex: player doesnt support long file names just update the drivers, then your mp3 files will be shown in thier full name ex2: the radio sounds crappy again this just depends on your area, but it is fully capable of bringing quality sounding radio finally people are nitpicking problems from thier nose with this player like not being able to change batteries with the memory card in or its too hard to put the back cover back on. give me a break, its really not that hard. Things are tight yes, but its still easily managable. trust me I love this mp3 player

Summary: Greatness in a small package
Review: This is a very good player. I have had this player since the end of july and have not had a problem. I have also used the nomad II MG (barrowed a friends) and i truly like mine better. The MG is hard 2 use the buttons are on the side. The sound quality is also better on this unit. I also think this unit is more stylish. The radio works great, so dose the voice recoder. The wired remot is also a great feature (the mg dose not have one) This one is also cheaper than the mg but is a better player. For all u guys Chicks dig this thing. (get the blue one) There is one draw back with this unit it eates batterys a little faster than id like but i just bought the docking station and no more battery problems. Buy this product.
