Rating: Summary: Excellect sound but disk are a little small. Review: I enjoyed this player quite a bit. it is very easy to use, just drag and drop files to the player. As everyone else has said, use another set of headphones ( the one they send are just plain weird). The disk are relatively cheap but don't quite hold a entire CD, which is may main complaint but its a minor fault. Overall I like this player.
Rating: Summary: HOT!!! Review: Have had just about every type of MP2 player on the market, and none of them have ever worked this good! I have had the HipZip for awhile now, and have not had any major problems with it, and most of the problems I have had, have been user error, my errors. The one major feature that I love about the HipZip is the use of the pocket zip discs.(...) Compare that to buying a compact flash card or an MMC card.
Rating: Summary: Very good product ... great price! Review: Just got this baby a few days ago and ... wow! I can't say enough about it. Just some of the great things about the HipZip: 1. Excellent sound quality, incuding equalizer presets and bass/treble controls. 2. Good-sized, easy to read display and very well-designed controls. 3. Small enough (though not as small as some), and solidly built. 4. Includes a Body Glove case w/belt clip, which makes the unit easily wearable. 6. Doubles as a Clik/PocketZip Drive, which means you can (...) with 80MB storage included. I should note that the headphones that are included are worthless, because they have no bass response. I am using a pair of Sony behind-the-headphones and it sounds great. As this price, I don't see how you can go wrong.
Rating: Summary: Hipzip will be obsolete soon. Check out dataplay, com Review: Dataplay is coming out in full force in FEB '02 making the hipzip obsolete. Dataplay discs will offer 500mb of memory and will be good for data, video, music, games and more. A word to the wise consumer, don't waste your money on these paltry 40 MB players.
Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT Review: I bought this for my husband for Christmas last year--he loves it and I love it...now I am using it to download audio books from (internet)to listen to books on the way to work. In my opinion this is the best of the MP3 players as it has the removable disks--so you can take as much music/books/whatever with you!!!
Rating: Summary: Best portable mp3 buy I've found. Review: I bought this mp3 player several months ago, and was sorely disappointed at first. The player wouldn't recognize anything I put in it(not just the file, wouldn't even read the disk). After about 10 minutes on the phone with Iomega support, we determined it was a defective drive, and they shipped me a new one the next day, which came prepackaged with a return label, so it cost me nothing, and only took a couple days. When I got the new one, I was simply blown away. Using WMA format, I could get 15-20 songs on each disk(got a package with 6 extra disks from the store). So I still haven't used all the disks. The sound quality is better than any other mp3 player I've seen. Some complain of the large size, but compared to my cd player, this is quite an improvement. It doesn't skip at all. The only problem I've had is a sensativity with the headphone jack(which is probably my headphones anyway). I had 2 other players before this, and the disks, although they may seem a hassle, are a great way to store mp3's. I can carry hours of music in my tiny neoprene mp3 player case. Overall, I'd say this is the best portable music player on the market.
Rating: Summary: WONDERFUL TOY! Review: I did some research and settled in on the HipZip. This is a WONDERFUL product - after I got it and upgraded the firmware - I was off and running. I found the directions included to be pretty direct and easy to follow - the setting up and interfacing with Audible.com was easy to figure out as well. Some folks complain about the quality of the headphones BUT I found them OK - probably tone deaf or something but since I listen to books more often than music with it - the difference isn't worth fighting about. I did buy a cassette adapter and listen mostly through the car radio.
Rating: Summary: Great Digital Audio Player Review: This is one of the best digital audio players I've ever used. It definately beats the RIO hands down as far as sound quality and when you add in the ability to swap PocketZip disks, it's WAY more cost effective. Other than being a little more bulky than other players, it's a great value!
Rating: Summary: It ate my disk! Review: I recently received the Iomega HipZip MP3 player for my birthday. It worked for about 3 days, but then it would not eject my disk. I tried everything (tweezers, shaking it, delicately manipulating the disk), but nothing worked! However, the player does have some nice features. The volume gets really loud, so you won't have a problem hearing it. Also, the backlight display is nice, and so are the buttons. Bottom line, buy at your own risk...it may work fine, or it may die, like mine did.
Rating: Summary: MP3 on the Cheap Review: Great Product. Once you replace the headphones the sound is terrific. The only downside is the size of the player. Much larger than most players out there. For the price though, there isn't a product with the versatility this baby has. 40mb is a little too small to fit most albums, can be a pain to constantly switch disks.
