Summary: A real great product !
Review: The HipZip is a real fantastic thing, it keeps playing fo hours. Longer than my MP3man did on its single battery. The weight is less of a problem because i can lose all of the spare batteries i tossed with me to keep my player going.

One of the biggest advantages is its small disk. Since i travel a lot, switching music regularly is necesary to keep my sanity. My first MP3 player had memory on board and a second expansion slot. Nice, but it forced me to listen to the songs on onboard memory anyway, regardless if you switched the memory-card. Now i can switch the entire disk, just like a CD and get rid of songs i heared once to much. The playlist also solves this problem. If you get boared by a group of numbers, just kick them out of the playlist.

I use the windows media format in the low-quality option (about FM-stereo quality music): i can put about two hours of music on each disk. The quality is good enough to listen to comfortably, and it lasts long enough to keep your sanity.

Running is absolute no problem at all. As a frequent traveller you have to run regulary and this HipZIP keeps going (even the more expensive CD-players and minidisks skipped when running to get a connection).

A software update solves the most anoying problems with the hipzip mentioned in earlier reviews: it now keeps your playlist and behaves like a normal MP3 player (first reverse button brings the track back to its beginning and changes to the playlist are maintained, even when the disk is ejected !).

Summary: Good player, especially for the price
Review: I had put off buying an MP3 player for a long time due to the high price, and limited (and [pricey])memory. The Hip Zip is a little more reasonably priced than other players, especailly when factoring in the inexpensive storage media. I use it for my bus/subway commute, and one disc holds enough music for the 35 minute trip. Adding/deleting songs is as easy as manipulating any file on your PC.

The Hip Zip works well for my purposes, but it's a little bulky to wear while working out; I wouldn't recommend running with headphones anyway.

Summary: Wait Until Fall
Review: I have had this player for a few weeks and it is awesome. But the only didadvantage to it is the storage capacity. So you should wait until fall 2001 because Iomega is coming out with a 100mb model of the hipzip and the 100mb disks are not backwards compatable. An Electronics fan from Maryland

Summary: Great Player
Review: You get alot of features for what you pay for, compared to other mp3 players. Many think it is heavy, but I don't think so. The media for the songs os cheap, which is good because you can only fit 8 songs on each disk. The sound is very clear. Transfering songs is VERY FAST AND EASY! The battery lasts a LONG time and is rechargable! I also like that you can use it to transfer files to computers. The case it comes with is a nice, stylish one. Although, the headphones are crap. There are many other little features which all add up to make this a great mp3 player.

Summary: the best item
Review: It is the best , I run with it and it has not ever shock , it sounds very good and its comfortable because it fits everywhere and it fits in my hand very well also , it is very easy to connect in the USB port and it comes with two mini disks , the thing I did not like very much was that it did not come with the headphones but I bought them separate , it is the best , I recomend you to buy it.

Summary: Best all around mp3 player
Review: I've also got a Creative Nomad, and the HipZip player [is better]. I've been eyeing [another product] for a while, but the price on the HipZip pretty much blew that out of the water ....

Pros: -The HipZip has fairly inexpensive media -The display is easy to read and shows everything you need at once -Well organized button placement -Ease of swapping media.... -Ease of transferring files of ANY type to media (does not store the OS on the media,... so you can fill it completely) -Full compatability with other Clik/PocketZip drives -Longer battery life.... -The software is minimal and painless (Iomega's sw is all-in-one) -It came with an AC adaptor (not a separate cradle) and you can get the car adaptor for only $10 from Iomega which is great for road trips

Cons/Wishlist: -I REALLY miss the radio from my Nomad -Since the display is so large, it should have a clock -It could probably be a little smaller -The 40mb size of each disk is a bit limiting, but I've read that the PocketZip disks will be available in 100mb some time this year (anyone else heard this?)

Some people have complained of the noise... It makes the same whir-and-click noise that my old Zip drive made, but it's not nearly as loud. If you're listening to music with the headphones, you wouldn't really hear it unless you had the player right up to your ear. It also has some memory built in as a buffer. I haven't been able to find out how much, but it will read the disk and throw it into the buffer so it isn't constantly reading the disk.

Summary: Mac compatable and cheap storage space!
Review: the title says it. I had a flawless instilation on my Imac and It works like a charm. Has a Lithium-Ion Battery so you never have to buy new batteries--just charge it. 40mb click disks are a great deal!

Summary: A great Product!
Review: I really like this unit. It works great! I have a Rio 500 to compare it to and I like the HipZip much better. Lower cost of media, very good sound quality, no skipping, light weight, long life battery - at least 12 hours for me.

Summary: Can your Mp3 Player mach it
Review: If you think your Mp3 player will mach it lets see. I have resently purchased a hip zip and since then I have had not one problem with it. It is so easy to use that even my four year old cousine can use it. The sound is unreal its nearly CD quility. Its heavy than your normal Mp3 player, But since I dont do much running at home that is not a problem. The thing I like about the hip zip is that it never has skiped even when I have droped it a couple of times. I also like how it can fit in the palm of your hand. It is so EASY do get your music on to the disks. In the package they give you it comes with 2 clik disks that have 40mb of memory a piece that is about 40 minutes of music time per disk. The disks are very compact but a little expensive if you buy the four pack...I also like how you can recharge the battery when it wares out. The battery when it is fully charged should run about 12 hours. I personaly think that is a while. The hip zip is perfect for field trips, family vacations and more. I think the price is perfect... at amazon. This product shows the strenghs and quility that Imogea is capable of.

Summary: The HipZip is my Pal
Review: I'm not one for portable cd players but, this hipzip is ideal for almost everyone. It's rechargeable, and easy to use. Why not five stars? It comes with this dinky usb cord that's less than a foot long (it needs to be as long as a mouse cord). The headphones aren't that impressive either but, those are just small compared to the overall superior quality of this product.
