Rating: Summary: Best Thing If you like Music! Review: This is the greatest thing I've purchased in a while. Not only does it sound great but it give me so much flexibility and is easy to use it makes you laugh at people who still use tapes and cd's to listen to music! I carry it everywhere I go now because it's so small and compact and it the greatest for jogging and biking and any other activity where you like to listen to music.
Rating: Summary: Good, solid product Review: Works great for me! Don't like the ear buds at all, but that's a personal thing. You can use regular head phones of your choice. Great sound, good volume! I think it is a good value for the price. Bought it three months ago and still have not gotten my rebate
Rating: Summary: Great. And had almost no problems! Review: I just got the raveMP about a week ago. It is a great player. It is fast enough (that is, I don't think the parallel port is a drawback), the design is cool, and has a lot of great features. I use all of them. The trick that you have to do if your the PC doesn't detect the raveMP, is to remove the batteries for about 30 seconds and put them back in. The press SL to perform a Speed/Quick Format (I don't remember the name of it). The only drawback I found is that you can't access the special features while playing you music. So when you are reading a long memo or a bunch of telephone numbers, you have to do so by first stopping the music.
Rating: Summary: Don't buy this product Review: I bought this product 5 months ago. After a few downloads, the device went crazy and stoped communicating with either me or the computer. It would play a song and have file errors ets. What really got to me, is that the guys at "Sensory Science" told me that they will only fix it for $99.95 because their warrenty is only 90 days. Now this device is only a bunch of chips stitched on a small board. Any thing that goes wrong it just SW or defected chip. Why would I have 2 pay $100 after already buying the stupid device & additional memory for over $350 ? Put in the Xtra $20 and buy from someone U can trust (Sony ? ) ! Hope U do th right thing..
Rating: Summary: very good overall Review: I agree with some of the gripes of others. The buttons are hard to distinguish by touch, but with familiarity it can be done. I have yet to check into the memory upgrade, but i'm sure it won't be cheap since it is proprietary. However, the ease of use, at least in my case, is terrific. It takes only 10-15 sec to load a song. And the ear phones have unbelievable sound for something so small! The batteries seem to last quite well also, even when listened to at volume 20, as i almost always do. Also very easy to use with my cassette adapter from the portable cd player in my car. Plugs right into the ear phone jack and works great. ... All in all, it is a very good choice.
Rating: Summary: Great Features, troublesome setup Review: I've had my Rave for about an hour now. I'm impressed by it's overall features. I am disappointed though by the parallel port connector. I believe USB would have been a logical choice. I had a horrible time hooking it up to my Toshiba Sattelite Laptop. All in all it was a simple fix of finding Toshiba's proprietary Hardware control panel to change the parallel port to ECP but was still annoying. I also had a problem where the MP3 transfer kept interrupting after about 10% completion. Possibly had to do with the laptop's power saving features. I rebooted and plugged the laptop into AC and it worked... odd.All in all, I'm impressed after the rough start!
Rating: Summary: fatal flaw Review: I really liked the design and features of the Rave mp2100 and the price is very attractive, but back to Best Buy it went the next day, after I wasted hours trying to get three different computers to recognize it, and I am no computer novice. The really bad thing, that makes me mad, on the box it just says parallel port interface, then you get inside, and it's well, it has to be configured as ECP or it won't be recognized at all instead of just working slower. I tried ECP, EPP, ECP + EPP all to no avail. This player was made for a USB interface, using the parallel port is kind of like designing a great sports car, and then making run on kerosene!
Rating: Summary: Excellent product Review: I am soooo happy with the ravemp mp3 player. I does so much more thsn just playing mp3s. I can record my class descussion on it with no problems, and what a highly sensitive microphone. It's buy far the best mp3 player on the market. Hooking it up to my pc is usually the biggest pin, but it read the mp3 perfictly! I had absolutly NO problems at all. I could not be happier. i suggest you look into buying this one too.
Rating: Summary: Worst Tech Support EVER Review: OK, this product comes with a 90 day warrenty. Doesn't seem so bad does it? What they don't tell you is that this product is VERY apt to get a slight memory error which causes the screen to show many lines. To remedy this problem, all that is needed is a memory flush. HOWEVER, this can't be done without sending the product in to be fixed. ...you will see in the faq section that for almost every problem this device can have, their only solution is "send it in for repairs."... NOT A GOOD DEAL!
Rating: Summary: Already happy owner of this amazing product. Review: I just bought this mp3 player, and am already astonished by it's overall excelence. Finding a good mp3 site was hard, but I found a program called Napster, which has every mp3 you could want. I am pleased with this product, especially the price, before and after the rebate. :)
