Rating: Summary: Kewl, cute, and cheap Review: I bought my lil MP3 player not long ago at all. I'm a college student and wanted something small, stylish, and portable to play my music on. I basically hate portable CD players because of their size, and being very computer literate, I decided to invest in the MP3 player. Although brand names usually mean nothing, they mean ALOT when dealing with electronics. RCA seems to be one of the best electronics manufacturers (Sony being the other) and not only that, but RCA put alotta style into the Kazoo. And the price was great!!! I currently have about 15 songs on my downloaded playlist. The only problem I have had with the product is trying to follow the instructions. The instructions aren't worth much at all. But all in all, the product is great and I highly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: It broke on me Review: Well, I bought this kazoo player a little over a month ago. I thought it was going to be great. I thought I was going to be able to run with it, listen to it on the subway, etc... About a week after I bought it, I had trouble with the usb connection. It was apparent that the problem was with the actual unit. The USB cable just doesn't connect well to the player. It keeps getting disconnected. Not physically falling out, mind you, its just the fact that the connection breaks every so often and the computer says that the unit is disconnected when in reality it is. It was bearable at first but it kept getting worse and worse until finally I can't even put more than two songs on it without it becoming disconnected. I guess that's what you get for paying seventy nine dollars for an mp3 player. Maybe I just got a bad apple, but I was very displeased with my purchase.
Rating: Summary: First mp3 player and lovin' it Review: I had been researching mp3 players for a year now, wanting something less than a hundred dollars with 64 Megs or more, and most importantly, with superior sound quality. Like many potential buyers, I have read many of these reviews and have found many of them helpful. I hope this would be beneficial to you too.I have finally purchased an RCA Kazoo a month ago and this mp3 player has not yet let me down. The sound quality is very good compared to Rio's Sonic Blue, my second choice. The size is perfect for carrying around in the pocket and a substantially good size for the gym. This also lets you carry over an hour of CD quality music (128 kbps), and comes along with the FULL software to download music onto the player. The only negative aspect I have so far is the that the LOCK switch on the side seems poorly installed and it seems to fall out anytime soon. Other than that, this player is well worth the eighty dollars. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: Kazoo is da' poop!! Review: And I mean that in a good way. I have been looking at the 1060 for a while now and was set on getting it until I read the reviews saying "if you have XP don't get it, its not compatible." Well, I saw it in a store the other day, looked at the package and it did say XP compatible. Maybe there were older versions that weren't but the one I bought works fine with XP.IMO, its got to be one of the better players for around $... Most others near this price are only 32mb and many of them have no expansion slot like the kazoo. Sound quality is pretty good, even at 96kb. I was curious to see how many songs I could fit in the internal memory at that bitrate, and got 23 songs with a play time of 90 minutes. I generally rip and d/l mp3s at 192kb, but 96kb is sufficient for this player. I could tell little to no difference between 96 and 128.Musicmatch isn't my favorite app, but it works fine for this. 1 gripe is after install MM overrides your default player and becomes the default for all media types. THIS IS SOMETHING I CANNOT STAND!!! It was simple enough to revert files back to the other players I use (winamp and wmp) but its inexcusable for software to do this without asking. MM does let you convert mp3s you already have to a lower bitrate fairly easily so I give it kudos for that.Downloading songs onto the player was fairly fast and simple. Took about 6-7 minutes to transfer 23 songs, and deleting them is even faster, maybe 1 minute if that.Overall Im satisfied with the Kazoo. It is my first mp3 player so I probably don't know what im missing on a fancier model but that's ok for now.Next player I get though will have to have backlight (if there is such a thing, Im sure there is) and track title display.
Rating: Summary: Great machine, great price Review: This is a corker of an mp3 player. I use mine whilst jogging. It gives me well over an hour of music (it lasts a lot longer than I do). The quality, although not top notch, is certainly good enough for jogging and for the gym. For this price, you can't beat it.
Rating: Summary: Great bang for the buck Review: Well, I can't complain about this unit. Its cheap, the sound is fine for a portable system, and the memory is sufficient for workouts. The only problem I had was the instructions for syncing the device were incorrect, the FILE menu has the connect to device option not the other menu that the instructions said to look. It is my first MP3 player and I love it. As for the other people having problems, well, mine has worked perfectly (I love the neck strap for weight lifting, the arm straps are too constricting....feels like a blood pressure cuff!). I recommend this unit!
Rating: Summary: Overall Performance Review: If you're thinking of purchasing a mp3 player for the first time, I highly recommend this one. The player itself is pretty small, but very convenient to carry around (you'll get to hook it onto your belt, hang it around your neck, or even wear it like a watch!) With only 64 mb (it's expandable), I can say you can store almost an hour worth of music in it, which doesn't seem like much, but that's what you get for a basic mp3 player. The price is remarkable; I can't find a cheaper price elsewhere, plus the shipping is pretty fast too. The only problem I have with this player is that it drains batteries fast. Even though it says its life is 10 hrs, I really doubt it. If you plan to get this, get rechargable batteries, that way you don't spend a lot on batteries.
Rating: Summary: You get what you pay for Review: This player is worth what you pay for it. Don't expect too much. Music sounds good when ripped at 128, but you lose alot by reducing the rate. I have another MP3 player (Samsung Mini-Yepp) that sounds as good at 96 as this one does at 128. I originally bought it for running and working out. Unfortunately, the carrying case is made of cheap plastic and broke within two weeks. The unit itself is also seems very light and fragile. The display, while large and easy to view, does not show track title or artist, which is just a "nice to have". On the positive side, adding additional storage to the K@zoo is very easy and inexpensive. I have upgraded to 128 and can store almost 2 hours of music at 128MB. The best part of this unit is the software provided (which was a major factor in my decision to purchase it). I had been using MusicMatch for over a year and is very versitile. SUMMARY: It is an excellent "starter" MP3 player, but I would not advise buying it for atheletic purposes.
Rating: Summary: good deal Review: i bought this for my girlfriend. she likes to work out and its perfect for just that. has a few ways of attaching it to your body. the case like everybody says is pretty low key and cheap looking looks almost like a plastic sandwich bag. I'm sure it keeps it safe though and another method would be to include a belt clip on it so you can just attach it to your waist, the belt clip doesnt come with it though. it's very easy to use i figured it out within a few minutes and did not read the directions. of course the memory is not that much unless you buy a multi media card but then again i didnt spend 300 bucks on this like the sony or intel mp3 players. its a cute simple mp3 player which works just fine for the low price of 80 bucks
Rating: Summary: If i could rate it less I would Review: This is horrible MP3 player. The first one I got just stopped working, i changed batteries and everything but nohing helped. So i took it back thinking it was only a little prolem. After about a week the second one I got only would send music to one side of any set of headphones that i tried. In short If you want to spend 70 - 100 dollars buy a Rio. They work wonderfully
