Summary: Some Helpful Information for Other YP-E32 users
Review: I've owned this product for about 2 years and it has been very reliable but there are a few things that could have been added to make it better. The only knock is the interface...parrallel is slow and there's not much you can do about that. I tried using a USB smartmedia writer/reader to download music onto and then tried it in the YP-E32 itself. The player does not recongnize the formate and will not display it nor play it. A friend lent me a 128mb smartmedia card to try and again the player would not read that either. It needs the 32mb cards. I'm still searching for a better interface set-up. Any ideas please post them.
If you want better quality sound you need a good jukebox program that will allow you to rip or write music at or near CD quality.
But remember, the higher the kbs the bigger the file therefore, the number of songs you will be able to download will be less.
Otherwise it's been a great little toy.

Summary: Dont buy an mp3 player!
Review: If you are rich as hell, go ahead and buy it. But for the price your paying for this, you could get a great Mini Disk player, and even plenty of discs for over 2,000 minutes of recording time. Dont believe me? Goto the Mini Disc section and do the math! Even better, you can record mp3's onto the MiniDisk players, you can also record your voice, your playstation/N64/Dreamcast, VCR, TV, Radio, Tape, everything! I almost bought an mp3 player, and im glad i didn't. MP3's are too expensive compared to Mini-Disks, and if you look at the Mini Disk trend right now, its exactly like the CD trend 10 years ago. They are already making Mini Disk drives fro computers to store info. Just check out the Mini Disks before you buy this, trust me, you'll thank me. If you have any questions, email me, Ill answer them asap!

Summary: Absolutely the best MP3 Player ever
Review: In April 1999 i bought a Diamond Rio 500. it had 64mb's of memory and horible sound quality and software. This MP3 player is da bomb great sound quality even though the earphones suck. The software is so easy to use. I would recomend this product to anyone, but my advice is to get different earphones.

Summary: Light!
Review: The best about this Thing is it's really really light! You can just put it in your pocket all the time and and feeling it at all.---------- This player can record voice and also has a phone book, but I do not find that useful at all.---------32mb is enough, you really don't need to buy an extra card! One thing is because it would cost $100 more, the other is that you need to press a putton to switch between cards. Too complicated.----------You really don't need to buy another headphone for this. The headphone comes with this player is just fine (even though it's not very very comfortable)! And you would look better with the original headphone.----------- One thing bad about this thing is that the control buttons are too hard to press! very hard. You need to press it down all the way in a very inconvinent way.----------- And also, sometimes the software makes it a kind of confusing to download musics to the player.----------I am listening to my Yepp as I am writing, it's a great thing to own.

Summary: Killer Internet Device
Review: The device is very cool. Best things: it's small; it doesn't skip when running; sound is cd quality to me. What is not that cool is: 1) 32K is way too little memory for MP3 files, you must buy the 64K as I had to buy a smartmedia card right away.... Therefore, it's cheaper to buy the 64K device instead. 2) The headphones are not that great. 3) The device does not work with my 1997 vintage computer (Windows 95), I have to use a co-worker's computer to download the files to the Yepp. 4)The included instructions are not intuitive, make sure you read the entire booklet before proceeding. But this is a great product at a great price, I highly recommend getting a Yepp.

Summary: Great MP3 Player
Review: The Samsung YP-E32 Yeep is an excelent MP3 player. I had a Rio with 64mb and it was to big and the display was crapy. When I bought the MP3 player i wasn't expecting much, but it has proved me wrong. The display is great and it is small and great for running.

Summary: A nifty mp3 player.
Review: The YEPP is a good MP3 player (I have the 64MB version). I couldn't get it working on my Windows NT notebook, but on my Win 98SE machine the install was a breeze. The magnesium case is nice, and the voice recording feature is quite handy. Sound quality is good, but not great. The player can play at a decent volume.

Some things to consider before purchasing (I'm comparing this to a friend's RIO 500):

-the headphones that come with the YEPP are absolutely terrible. Then again, the RIO's headphones bite as well.

-the parallel port transfer isn't very fast (~140 kb/s .. about 7 minutes for the entire 64 MB). Compare that to a USB RIO which takes about 2 minutes to transfer 64 MB.

-the 3 line LCD screen is not backlighted and in MP3 mode one line is wasted by displaying the EQ setting (I'd rather see the line used for information about the MP3). The RIO's screen is much nicer. Granted, I don't look at the screen that much.

-the YEPP uses 2 AAA batteries, versus the RIO's single AA battery. If you plan to use Alkalines, the RIO will end up costing you alot less (2 AAA batteries aren't cheap .. especially with a battery life of ~6 hours).

If you can live with the drawbacks, this is a very good MP3 player. It can do voice recording, and is quite a bit cheaper than the RIO. Skip the 32MB version and head right for 64MB.

Did I mention that MP3s and these MP3 players are awesome?

Summary: Killer Internet Device
Review: This MP3man is very light, easy-to-use and has all the functionality that you want. The toughest part of this MP3man is the installation. It did take me awhile to set up the BIOS (for ECP mode) and the software. But once you got that right, other part is easy. 32MB RAM might not be enough for you but it already can store 32 minutes of music without a problem (you might want to get 64MB version if you are looking for more storage). In addition, it can also do voice recording and I found that very useful especially during meeting. The phone memory could be useful if you don't have other electronic device (e.g. Palm) to store the data. In general, it has all the functionality of a MP3 Player you want.

The two things I would like to see it can improve are:

1. to have a USB version so that I don't need to unplug the printer whenever I want to sync the music.
2. make it smaller (MP3 Player should be smaller than MD player right?)

One final note: Yepp is a Korean company that specializes in making MP3 Player, not only Samsung's are made by them, Creative's NOMAD also (except the software part). So sound-quality-wise they are almost the same. Choose the cheaper one, choose Samsung's!
